1. Understand the Game Type
Tower Defense: Place towers strategically to intercept enemy waves. Prioritize choke points and cover high-value targets
Base Defense: Manage troops, fortifications, and supply lines. Keep a mix of offense and defense units.
Siege/Field Defense: Use terrain, cover, and layered defenses to slow or repel large-scale attacks 1001Games.
2. Core Defensive Principles
Layered Defense: Create multiple lines of defense (outer perimeter, mid-layer, inner core) to slow enemies and give you time to react
Resource Management: Balance building/upgrading defenses with maintaining troops and supplies. Don’t overcommit to one area.
Enemy Weakness Exploitation: Identify enemy unit types and weaknesses, then place defenses accordingly (e.g., anti-air towers for flyers, heavy armor for melee units).
Mobility & Retreat: Always have a plan to retreat or reposition if overwhelmed. Use terrain to your advantage.
3. Placement & Positioning
Choke Points: Narrow passages or bridges are ideal for funneling enemies into kill zones.
Cover & Concealment: Use hills, forests, or buildings to hide units and reduce enemy targeting accuracy.
Rotation & Rotation: Rotate units to prevent overexposure and maintain morale.
4. Unit & Tower Selection
Mix of Unit Types: Combine fast, mobile units with slow, heavy ones to cover different threats.
Upgrade Gradually: Invest in upgrades that improve defense efficiency, not just raw power.
Specialized Units: Use units with unique abilities (e.g., healing, crowd control) to sustain your defense.
5. Adaptability
Watch Enemy Patterns: Learn their attack routes and timing to anticipate moves.
Adjust Strategy Mid-Game: If an enemy type becomes dominant, shift defenses or add countermeasures.
Use Environment: Leverage weather, terrain, or environmental hazards to your advantage.
