⁣Some time ago, a friend invited me over to view The Third Man, starring Orson Welles and Joseph Cotton - let's drop the brief synopsis:
What was the story of The Third Man?
Set in postwar Vienna, Austria, "The Third Man" stars Joseph Cotten as Holly Martins, a writer of pulp Westerns, who arrives penniless as a guest of his childhood chum Harry Lime (Orson Welles), only to find him dead. Martins develops a conspiracy theory after learning of a "third man" present at the time of Harry's death, running into interference from British officer Maj. Calloway (Trevor Howard) and falling head-over-heels for Harry's grief-stricken lover, Anna (Alida Valli).
Kinda misses the point of the actual scenario - weaponizing calamity was one of the hidden themes of the movie - now, when I first watched this, none of what I now know came to the fore...but I did subconsciously take it all in
Some time later, I recalled the ferris wheel scene [my friend at the time told me to pay attention], and then it hit me - Orson Welles was one of the well poisoners!
