MAYOR DERRICK HENRY'S WELCOME
welcome sign on pedestrian overpass

It is an honor to serve this community and to be your mayor. My commitment to public service is one of the most important aspects of my life.

I am extremely proud to call Daytona Beach my hometown. Our fine city has so much to offer its residents and visitors. Some 65,000 residents and 8 million annual visitors enjoy moderate weather, quality educational choices, exceptional recreational activities for children and adults, exciting sporting venues, an active arts community and, of course, one of the most beautiful, family-friendly beaches in Florida.

In addition to these assets, Daytona Beach is a growing, vibrant city. While our community is internationally known for its beach and its automobile racing roots, this city has even more to offer such as historical properties, an aggressive redevelopment strategy, exciting residential and economic development opportunities and thriving business establishments.

Another defining aspect of living in Daytona Beach is our citizen involvement. We enjoy an active residential and business community. Too often people say they cannot impact government. The truth is, without participation of our residents, business leaders and elected officials, solutions to large issues may never be achieved. Your thoughts, ideas and abilities are needed and welcome. I encourage you to make your voice heard. Together we can create solutions and overcome challenges.

Sincerely, Derrick L. Henry, Mayor
