A Sudanese man (earlier claimed as Somalian) arrested after a brutal knife assault in Kinnaird Avenue, north Belfast.

The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries to his face, neck and back and remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Graphic video circulating online shows the attacker pinning the victim down and repeatedly stabbing/ sawing at his head and neck.
