Tech companies have forced Fuentes, like Anglin, into that position by removing him from mainstream platforms in response to his voicing hateful views. Fuentes rose to prominence through YouTube, where he generated donations through the company’s Super Chat function, which elevates commenters’ words to prominence on the screen in exchange for a fee. DLive suspended Fuentes in 2021, following the Jan. 6 insurrection. Fuentes responded in October 2021 by mounting Cozy.TV, an independent livestreaming service that functions like those other platforms and enables him more freedom to speak without being tied to a company’s terms. Fuentes kept the format of his shows the same after going independent.
SPLC’s Hatewatch reported in November 2021 that a group of men who also collaborate with Infowars’ Alex Jones helped Fuentes build Cozy.TV. Michael Zimmermann, who served as the IT director for Alex Jones’ Infowars and worked for the extremist-friendly domain registry Epik, also worked with Fuentes on staging his videos. Zimmermann used Epik to register the domain “tarrantmanfiesto.com” hours after convicted terrorist Brenton Tarrant gunned down 51 Muslim people at Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, on March 15, 2019. Simon Dickerman, another Fuentes digital collaborator, has participated in the white supremacist movement since at least 2017, when he helped stage a protest targeting Black immigrants outside the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, Tennessee, while traumatized victims of a recent mass shooting prayed inside. SPLC’s Hatewatch found Dickerman, who goes by the internet pseudonym “Simon Sasquatch” working a video camera at a Fuentes-led “Vax Watch” event in November 2021. Fuentes commonly produces heavily edited propaganda videos to showcase his events to fans.
Fuentes built up part of his audience on Twitter, which gave him a verified account after he appeared on the white supremacist side of Charlottesville’s “Unite the Right” event. When Twitter verified Fuentes, few people knew him outside of his connections to far-right extremism. As of 2021, Fuentes amassed more than 135,000 followers on Twitter. He praised Twitter for helping him reconnect with his fans after streaming sites deplatformed him.

Twitter suspended Fuentes days after SPLC’s Hatewatch published a report about their platform in July 2021. He has since built up a substantial following on the social network Gab, whose lax policies have made it a white supremacist-friendly haven. Gab’s metrics claim Fuentes has a following that exceeds 100,000 accounts, but critics, including former collaborators, have accused the company of inflating follower numbers to appear larger than they are.

⁣Two people have been killed and eight others including a police officer have been injured following a shooting outside of a grocery store in Arkansas.

Law enforcement agencies responded to the Mad Butcher store in Fordyce on Friday morning to reports of a shooting.

State Police said that nine civilians were shot at with two dying from their injuries, while a law enforcement agent was also hit and has non-life threatening injuries.

According to officials the shooter was also critically injured after being shot at by law enforcement and has since been taken into custody.

Sources told the Southeast Arkansas Times that the shootout started between two groups of people with AR-15 style weapons.

A Dallas County Courthouse employee told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that at least four active shooters had been involved.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the actual number of shooters involved in the incident.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Knoedel confirmed to THV11 that the suspect was quickly detained.

Video emerged on social media of the scene with multiple shots heard being let off in quick succession.

Car alarms can be heard ringing out with the person recording adding that one person was laying in a parking lot after being shot at.

The camera then pans round to show one person laying on the asphalt surface as shots continue to ring out.

David Rodriguez, 58, had stopped at his local gas station in Fordyce to fill up his car when he heard what he thought were fireworks from a nearby vendor´s stand.

'We heard a few little pops,' he said.

He then saw people running from the Mad Butcher grocery store into the parking lot, and one person lying on the ground. He began recording video with his phone before the gunfire escalated.

'The police started to show up, and then there was massive gunfire and ambulances pulling up,' he said. 'The bullets were just flying.'

Governor of Arkansas Sarah Huckabee Sand posted on X saying: 'I have been briefed on the tragic shooting in Fordyce, and I'm in constant contact with State Police at the scene.

'I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives.

'My prayers are with the victims and all those impacted by this horrific incident.'

Reporters on the scene reported shell casings scattered across the ground and a medical helicopter being brought in.

Several agencies including the Dallas County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police Department are all currently on the scene.

Fordyce is a city of about 3,200 people located 65 miles (104 kilometers) south of Little Rock.

The concept is referred to as vaccine-shedding. The non-binary former Biden official fired after he was caught stealing luggage at an airport had a hand in crafting policy that would prevent 'unaffirming' parents of transgender grade school students from knowing about their child's gender identity.

Sam Brinton, 35, who uses 'they/their' pronouns, no longer has their Department of Energy job after they were accused of stealing luggage in two separate incidents.

Prior to becoming one of the federal government's first non-binary officials, they worked at the LGBTQ youth suicide prevention group The Trevor Project.

While there, Brinton helped craft 'Model School District Policy on Suicide Prevention' that included guidelines on telling parents about LGBTQ+ children.

The policy paper was done in conjunction with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the American School Counselor Association and the National Association of School Psychologists.

It establishes rules against what schools can keep their parents informed on and gives school mental health professionals the decision of what they should be informed about regarding their children.

It reads: 'While parents and guardians need to be informed and actively involved in decisions regarding the student's welfare, the school mental health professional should ensure that the parents' actions are in the best interest of the student (e.g., when a student is LGBTQ and living in an unaffirming household).'

They go on to argue that parents should not be informed of their child's gender identity or sexual orientation 'unless the student consents.'

It continues by saying that research shows LGBTQ youth are at a higher risk of suicide, depression or drug use if their identity is not supported by their families.

DURING THE 1920S HENRY FORD was benefiting from a major boom in the automobile industry. His company was selling thousands upon thousands of cars and needed massive amounts of rubber to make tires. Unfortunately, rubber manufacturers in East Asia were running a virtual monopoly that drove up the price of raw materials. Ford’s idea: Create the world’s largest rubber plantation in the middle of the Amazon forest, which after all is the native habitat of rubber trees.

The auto tycoon bought over six million acres and named his Americanized colony Fordlândia. Ford went so far as to build a modern hospital, a power plant, a library, a golf course, a hotel, and thousands of little white clapboard houses for the employees to live in. Eventually, as the community grew, other businesses such as bakeries, butcher shops, restaurants, and shoemakers were established.

Ford employees from America were relocated to this little piece of America along the Amazon River where they—along with the native Brazilian workers who moved into the settlement to work at the factory—were forced to live the mandatory “healthy lifestyle.” This included attending poetry readings, square dances, and English-language-only singalongs, and abstaining from alcohol, which was prohibited in Fordlândia.

Unfortunately Fordlândia proved to be wildly unsuccessful. The rubber saplings that Ford had planted (without the help of a botanist) were barely growing, and those that did grow were soon hit by a leaf blight, which ruined the remaining trees. By the end of the 1920s malaria became a serious problem. In December 1930 agitated workers rioted, breaking windows and overturning vehicles in the road. After the riots, which lasted less than three days, work continued, but there was almost no product to show for the millions of dollars Ford had poured into the jungle. In 1933, after coming to terms with the failure, Ford purchased a new plot of land downriver and called it Belterra. At first the land showed promise, but progress was slow. After 10 years of work, Ford realized that his goal of 38,000 tons of latex was a far cry from his factory’s output of just 750 tons.

Ford retired from the rubber industry in 1945 after losing over $20 million in the Amazon (over $200 million in today’s dollars). The Brazilian government purchased all of Ford’s land for a measly $250,000. Today some of the structures of Fordlândia and Belterra still remain and are marked as spots for Amazon tours.

Imagine savoring a steak from a cloned animal or sipping milk from a cloned cow. Thanks to investigative journalism by @ThomasGerbet of the @CBCNews, this impending reality has come to light, though many agricultural producer groups have not been directly consulted.

@GovCanHealth's recent round of consultations, conducted with minimal public awareness, suggests that these products may soon be available without consumers' knowledge, as there will be no mandatory labeling. The absence of such information on Health Canada's website only adds to the opacity surrounding "cloned products."

The consultation, which concluded on May 25th, focused on updating the "Policy on Foods Derived from Cloned Animals by Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer and Their Progeny." This update proposes that cloned products be exempt from pre-market evaluation under Part B, Title 28 of the Food and Drug Regulations. In contrast, nations like the United States, Japan, and New Zealand...

But what precisely is animal cloning? The process aims to create a genetic replica of an animal by replacing the nucleus of an unfertilized egg with that of a somatic cell from the donor animal, forming an embryo. This embryo is then implanted into a surrogate mother's uterus, where it develops to term.

Artificial insemination, a well-established industry practice, involves collecting sperm from a male and artificially introducing it into a female's reproductive system to facilitate fertilization, preserving genetic variability. Cloning, however, produces genetically identical animals, eliminating this variability.

From a food safety perspective, cloned products do not pose a threat to human health. However, the social and moral acceptability of cloning remains in question. It is doubtful that consumers will unconditionally accept this technology, especially in the absence of labeling. For traditional producers, the integration of cloned products into the market could also taint consumer perceptions across entire categories, particularly meat and dairy.

This situation mirrors the backlash against genetically modified salmon, which faced immediate retail rejection despite being deemed safe. Irrespective of the safety profile, it is crucial to explain the technology and ensure consumers comprehend the rationale and necessity for such practices, both for their benefit and that of the industry.

For the industry, the imperative to amend regulations is less evident. Cloning is an expensive process, and the argument that reduced production costs will translate into lower retail prices for consumers is tenuous at best.

Without mandatory labeling, offering consumers a truly informed choice becomes problematic. We have witnessed similar issues with genetic engineering and GMOs. Health Canada appears poised to embrace technological advancements impacting our agri-food sector without adequately considering consumer rights and preferences.
