⁣Acourt witness in the Sean “Diddy” Combs investigation says he has “at least eight sex tapes involving eight celebrities,” according to NewsNation.

Page Six described the celebrities in question, who were not named, as “A-Listers.” The Music Essentials called the accusations “shocking.”

Courtney Burgess levied the accusations on the NewsNation show “Banfield” on October 31. According to NewsNation, he said that he was “given 11 flash drives” containing the tapes and that “two to three” of the celebrities were minors.

NewsNation reported that Burgess has now testified before a grand jury looking into Combs in the Southern District of New York, describing the eight celebrities as “victims” of Combs. Burgess told NewsNation that Kim Porter, Combs’ now-deceased ex-girlfriend, gave him the flash drives.

Ariel Mitchell, Burgess’ attorney, told NewsNation that the tapes “tell the story of what Diddy has done over the past 30 years. His deviant activities.”

However, defense attorney Mark Geragos, whose daughter is representing Combs, said on the “Cuomo” show that he’s “not buying” the accusations by Burgess, according to NewsNation.

“I think the prosecutors think he failed the smell test, and I suspect the prosecutors brought him in front of the grand jury because I don’t think anyone is buying what he’s selling,” Geragos said, NewsNation reported.

The New York Post previously reported that an A-list male celebrity was upset about a tape being “shopped around to media outlets.” That celebrity was not named, and it’s not clear whether that tape is connected to Burgess’s accusations.

“It’s triggering,” a source told The Post. “It feels like a betrayal and a violation, and it’s causing a lot of issues. It brings up some really disturbing and bad memories.”

Law enforcement sources told The Post that they believe Diddy recorded videos, adding, “There are recognizable names, but I won’t confirm any of their identities. But it’s more than just that one.”

Burgess’s Amazon Prime profile reads, “Hi my name is Courtney Burgess I been in the Entertainment business for 28 years my first group was The Artifacts Hussain Fatal (Tupac) my first book is N 2Tha Gutter it’s About Tupac.”

An indictment against Combs was released on September 17. The indictment charges Combs with racketeering, accusing him of having “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.”

Page Six reported that the tapes involve six male celebrities and two female stars.

According to Page Six, Burgess says the celebrities appeared to be “under the influence” and victimized.

TMZ reported that Burgess claims he has Porter’s “real memoir,” and noted that he was subpoenaed to testify before the Diddy grand jury.

Burgess told TMZ he was “initially contacted by agents from the Department of Homeland Security.” According to TMZ, the subpoena from federal prosecutors “asked Burgess to turn over all records, including thumb drives, hard drives, electronic storage devices, or devices containing videos and/or other files depicting Diddy.”

Porter died in 2018. The autopsy report, which Heavy obtained from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, details how Porter was feeling ill from flu-like symptoms before she died.

The comedian, Jaime Caravaca, was in the middle of his set in Madrid on Monday night when the enraged dad, Alberto Pugilato, abruptly stormed the stage and pummeled him in the head.

If you had never heard of Candace Owens until recently, you aren’t alone. Less than a decade ago, she was an unknown college dropout working as a marketing professional in New York, writing pieces for her company’s website about the “bat-s—t crazy antics of the Republican Tea Party.” Then, suddenly, she claimed to have experienced a political conversion. She told the libertarian political commentator Dave Rubin in 2017, “I became a conservative overnight. . . . I realized that liberals were actually the racists. Liberals were actually the trolls.”

At the time, Owens, who is African American, had been gaining followers as a YouTuber under the name of RedPillBlack, posting provocative videos with titles such as “I Don’t Care About Charlottesville, the KKK, or White Supremacy.” Such pseudo-transgressive hot takes garnered praise from far-right figures like Alex Jones, of InfoWars. She parlayed that popularity into a stint with Turning Point USA, the grassroots group, during which she toured college campuses with TPUSA chief Charlie Kirk, admonishing students to stop acting like victims and embrace Donald Trump. The Daily Wire hired her in 2020 to host her own show, Candace, on its platform.

Owens was precisely the kind of person the conservative movement—and conservative new media in particular—thought it needed to cultivate. Young, hip, black, and adept at working across many new media platforms, Owens appeared to be the perfect conservative controversialist.

Except, as Owens’s audience has grown, so has her comfort level with airing not only her reactionary takes on Democrats, obese celebrities, and George Floyd, but also her raging, out-and-out anti-Semitism.

In a recent episode of her show, for example, she tried to downplay Kanye West’s appallingly anti-Semitic remarks from a few years ago (West announced he was “going death con 3 on Jewish people”). Owens had defended West at the time, tweeting, “If you are an honest person, you did not find this tweet antisemitic”. And she continues to claim his remarks were justifiable because West believed that a cabal of Jews in Hollywood was out to get him. Owens’s remarks are worth quoting at length:

In all communities there are gangs. In the black community we’ve got the Bloods, we’ve got the Crips. Well, imagine if the Bloods and the Crips were doing horrific things, murdering people, controlling people with blackmail, and then every time a person spoke out about it, the Bloods and the Crips would call those people racist, would get the media to say those people were racist. . . . What if that is what is happening right now in Hollywood if there is just a very small ring of specific people who are using the fact that they are Jewish to shield themselves from any criticism. It’s food for thought, right? . . . There are enough people that are speaking out about a ring in Hollywood, also a ring potentially in D.C., that we should start to ask those questions. . . . All Americans should want answers because this appears to be something that is quite sinister.

What is sinister is Owens’s “just asking questions” approach as a means of encouraging anti-Semitism, a posture she’s doubled down on since the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7. She has emerged as a loud and ill-informed critic of the State of Israel, one whose views would be far more at home on the progressive left than among most Republicans and conservatives, who support Israel.

On X, Owens wrote of Israel, “No government anywhere has a right to commit a genocide, ever. There is no justification for a genocide.” She also called the Muslim Quarter in Jerusalem a “ghetto” and remarked, “If you think it’s antisemitism to notice that innocent Christians were killed in an IDF bombing, then you need to log off.”

Owens is the one who needs to spend more time offline. A typical tweet, (from October 24, 2023) about the state of Florida removing Students for Justice in Palestine groups from two Florida college campuses after they violated the state’s anti-Semitism laws, featured Owens proclaiming: “I’ll ask the obvious question here. Do people believe that in the future moves like this will increase or decrease feelings of anti-semitism? Do you think these students are going to shut down and think ‘well—guess we have to support Israel now’? This is a serious question.”
This is not a serious question, but it is representative of her approach. First, she prefaces any statement about the Jews or anti-Semitism by noting that she’s just stating the “obvious question.” Then, while pretending to show concern for anti-Semitism, she dishonestly reframes the question and implies that it is Jews who are responsible for anti-Semitism.
Her disingenuousness was on frank display during a feud she had with Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro, an outspoken supporter of Israel and an observant Jew. When he correctly described Owens’s behavior as “disgraceful,” she took the feud public on social media, posting Bible verses, including Matthew 5:9, which states, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Shapiro responded, “Candace, if you feel that taking money from The Daily Wire somehow comes between you and God, by all means quit.”

Owens misrepresented Shapiro’s response while simultaneously casting herself as a Christian martyr: “You are utterly out of line for suggesting that I cannot quote biblical scripture. The Bible is not about you. Christ is king.” For this, she received praise from Tucker Carlson, who compared her to Galileo.

She is in fact more akin to a flat-earther. Owens frequently makes claims that have no basis in evidence in a bid to gain attention and cultivate followers. Just before Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky visited the United States in December 2022, for example, Owens falsely claimed that his wife was spending American money on French fashion, posting on X, “We want nothing to do with you. Stop stealing from our people while your wife drops tens of thousands of dollars shopping in Paris. Despicable.” In an interview with NBC News, Owens criticized people who “mindlessly vote,” yet she had to admit that she herself had not bothered to vote in the previous two presidential elections.

When she is criticized for saying something irresponsible, or factually incorrect, or anti-Semitic, Owens immediately plays the victim and claims persecution as a Christian or an African American. When Dennis Prager (for whom Owens once briefly worked) gently chastised her for defending West’s anti-Semitic statements, Owens used her podcast as a venue to attack Prager, who is Jewish. As she told the New Yorker, she called and yelled at him, saying, “I’m not playing this game with the Jewish community again.” Game?

Owens has not been libeled or smeared; she’s been properly criticized for spreading hateful views. And she’s hardly a victim. She has 4 million followers on Instagram, 4.8 million on X, and many, many viewers for her Daily Wire show.

The Trump era has created a conundrum on the right. While support for Israel and a general philo-Semitism remain enduring features of the right in the U.S., some of the loudest voices in right-leaning new media now oppose Israel and are leaning into outright anti-Semitism. They take the understandable belief that mainstream culture and media are hostile to Christianity and traditional conservative values and twist it into a new iteration of classic Christian anti-Semitism—all while claiming to be among the victimized.

This persecution complex can be applied to a range of issues, and it flatters Owens’s own sense of importance in the culture. As Owens recently posted on X, “Something is going on with Justin Bieber and it has everything to do with him being a Christian in demonic Hollywood. If you aren’t paying attention yet—the media has recently launched a full scale attack on Christianity. And therefore me.” This brings attention not to the travails of Justin Bieber or to Christians but to Owens’s favorite subject: herself.

It’s a clever posture. Criticize her or fire her, and you’re persecuting all Christians; by expressing outrage at her anti-Semitism, you’re ensuring the further abuse of Christians like her who are “just asking questions.” Her self-described brand is that she is “the most controversial black woman in America.” The reality? Her toxic mix of combative and ignorant extremism should have no place in the conservative movement.

A new museum exhibition in Berlin details how the Nazis made use of the anti-Semitic words of Martin Luther, the leader of the Protestant Reformation, RNS [reported]. The exhibit is located in the Topography of Terror, a museum about methods of Nazi repression that was built in the former headquarters of the Nazi secret police, the Gestapo.
“They very clearly used Luther’s writings that had all this anti-Semitism in them to support their cause,” Kurt Hendel, professor emeritus of Reformation history at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, said of the Nazis.
The Nazis were particularly enamored of Luther’s 1543 work, “On The Jews And Their Lies.” Hendel said that though Luther was not always anti-Semitic, he came to hate Jews after they refused to convert en masse to Christianity.
In November 1933, the Nazis marked the 450th anniversary of Luther’s birth with a nationwide “German Luther Day.” Party leaders praised Luther’s “ethno-nationalist mission,” and called their movement “the completion of the German Reformation in the Third Reich.”
Nazi propagandists also celebrated the fact that the infamous Kristallnacht night of violence against Jews in 1938 fell over Luther’s birthday.

A reported Marine Corps veteran took down an aggressive homeless man who started screaming after he boarded a Subway train in New York City on Monday. The veteran put the unstable individual in a chokehold, which reportedly caused his death.

Journalist Juan Alberto Vazquez, who witnessed the incident, told the New York Post that Jordan Neely, 30, started screaming at passengers after he boarded the train.

“He started screaming in an aggressive manner. He said he had no food, he had no drink, that he was tired and doesn’t care if he goes to jail. He started screaming all these things, took off his jacket, a black jacket that he had, and threw it on the ground,” Vazquez said.

The Marine veteran jumped into action, pulling Neely down to the ground in a chokehold. Vasquez said the veteran restrained Neely, who lost consciousness, for about 15 minutes.

The train eventually stopped at the Broadway-Lafayette Street/Bleeker Street station, where the conductor reportedly called 911.

Authorities said EMS workers tried to revive Neely, who had a history of mental health issues, but they were unsuccessful.

The reported Marine veteran was taken into custody before being released without charges.

Vasquez said Neely tried to free himself from the chokehold.

“He moved his arms but he couldn’t express anything,” Vazquez said. “All he could do was move his arms. Then suddenly he just stopped moving. He was out of strength.”

“None of us who were there thought he was in danger of dying. We thought he just passed out or ran out of air. I think that in one sense it’s fine that citizens want to jump in and help. But I think as heroes we have to use moderation,” he continued. “This would never have happened if the police had shown up within five minutes. Then we’d be talking about a true hero. It’s complicated.”

Rosa Parks occupies an iconic status in the civil rights movement after she refused to vacate a seat on a bus in favor of a white passenger in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1955, Parks rejected a bus driver's order to leave a row of four seats in the "colored" section once the white section had filled up and move to the back of the bus.

Her defiance sparked a successful boycott of buses in Montgomery a few days later. Residents refused to board the city's buses. Instead they carpooled, rode in Black-owned cabs, or walked, some as far as 20 miles. The boycott dealt a severe blow to the bus company's profits as dozens of public buses stood idle for months. The boycott was led by a newcomer to Montgomery named Martin Luther King, Jr.

INTENTIONAL ACT

At the time, Parks led the youth division at the Montgomery branch of NAACP. She said her anger over the lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till and the failure to bring his killers to justice inspired her to make her historic stand. Four days before the incident, Parks attended a meeting where she learned of the acquittal of Till's murderers.

In her autobiography, Rosa Parks: My Story (1992), Parks declares her defiance was an intentional act: "I was not tired physically, or no more tired than I usually was at the end of a working day. I was not old, although some people have an image of me as being old then. I was 42. No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in."

As a result of her defiance, Parks was arrested and found guilty of disorderly conduct. NAACP joined her appeal, a case that languished in the Alabama court system. Segregation on public buses eventually ended in 1956 after a Supreme Court ruling declared it unconstitutional in Browder v. Gayle. Parks was not included as a plaintiff in the decision since her case was still pending in the state court.

JOINING THE FIGHT IN DETROIT

In addition to her arrest, Parks lost her job as a seamstress at a local department store. Her husband Raymond lost his job as a barber at a local air force base after his boss forbade him to talk about the legal case. Parks and her husband left Montgomery in 1957 to find work, first traveling to Virginia and later to Detroit, Michigan.

Parks supported the militant Black power movement, whose leaders disagreed with the methods of the nonviolent movement represented by Martin Luther King. Her break with other Montgomery leaders over the future of the civil rights struggle contributed to her departure from the Southern city.

Parks was struck by the similarity in treatment of African Americans in Detroit, finding that schools and housing were just as segregated as they were in the South. She joined the movement for fair housing and lent her support to local candidate John Conyers in his bid for Congress.

After he was elected in 1965, Conyers repaid the favor by employing Parks as his secretary in his Detroit office, a position she held until her retirement in 1988. In the role, Parks worked with constituents on issues such as job discrimination, education, and affordable housing.

Parks remained active in the civil rights movement in the 1960s and helped investigate the killing of three Black teenagers in a 1967 race riot in Detroit.

DEATH AND LEGACY

Over the course of her life, Parks received many honors, including NAACP's Springarn Medal in 1979, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1996, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1999. After Parks died in Detroit in 2005 at the age of 92, she became the first woman to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C.

California, Missouri, Ohio, and Oregon commemorate Rosa Parks Day every year, and highways in Missouri, Michigan, and Pennsylvania bear her name.
