A staffer for Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker 'accidentally posted' a video meant to be released next week which reveals Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as Kamala Harris' running mate.

"Philly political sources have told me that a staffer connected with Mayor Cherelle Parker's team accidentally posted the video today," posted journalist Ernest Owens on X.

"The video was scheduled for Monday...after VP Kamala Harris was expected to announce her pick."

The worst experience ever. Was visiting and had to wait 30 minutes just to be passed around by three different people to input our information. The lady at the front desk called the child stay before we went back there and they told her okay they can bring him. We were informed to take our 1 year old in the child stay and when we got back there we were told to he had to be with bigger kids and we requested him to be with the smaller kids because he's 1 and she said well we are over capacity. Mind me we've already waisted 30 minutes waiting just to get our information inputted in the system what makes matters worse there was only one kid with the smaller kids. It was one provider in there with one child.

I would not recommend anyone go to this YMCA.
Real easy to sign up online, but when you want to cancel your membership there is no option to do it online.They force you to jump through hoops, fill out forms and provide a THIRTY (30) DAY notice. So by the time you've requested cancellation they will try and charge you one last time.On top of that the facility is TOO CROWDED. Been at 5:30 am, middle of the day round lunch and late at night.The staff is not helpful or informative. They raised the price of my membership without ever calling, or informing me any type of way because I supposedly didn't provide some documentation that they NEVER EVEN ASKED FOR.

Customer Service on Friday June 8, 2018 was rude. I am a member through Silver Sneakers and staff member Louis S was arrogant and disrespectful. His tone was rude and you never respond to members with nastiness. The volunteer at desk wasn't any better.
Asked for management but no one was available. This young man needed training on CS and what programs the YMCA offers. I would rather drive pass this location to go to another facility.

Completely upset with the attitude/compassion from Management and staff..I have been a member for YEARS and only just recently couldn't afford my membership and I thought I had cancelled it, however, it kept rebilling. I really needed the last 3 months to be refunded (I hadn't used the gym in over a year either..), however, both managers I spoke with were so rude about it and demanded 'evidence' that they deemed worthy..I explained my whole situation: how I'm financially impacted by COVID, have family health problems I'm dealing with, tried to cancel, etc. However, they really couldn't care! Not to mention that I only kept the membership through the pandemic because its a Non-Profit and they do reinvest into the community..It just really shows the lack of care/empathy they really do have. If I could I would just never had signed up for this YMCA..Negative Professionalism

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz fumbled a response about school shootings during Tuesday night’s debate against JD Vance, saying he’s become “friends” with the shooters.

The moderators asked Walz how he changed his mind about banning “assault weapons” over his career.

“I sat in that office with those Sandy Hook parents. I’ve become friends with school shooters. I’ve seen it,” Walz said.
Pollsters, pundits and politicians immediately panned Walz for the embarrassing gaffe.

“’I’ve become friends with school shooters’ may be the worst line in any 2024 debate,” said political pollster and consultant Frank Luntz.
Fellow pollster Patrick Ruffini was nonplussed.

“See, this is useful,” floated Fox News contributor Guy Benson. “Walz saying he’s become friends with school shooters, when he meant victims, is an innocent misstatement.

“Repeatedly lying about his military rank, his DUI, IVF and Hong Kong/Tiananmen Square are not innocent misstatements.”
National Review Contributor Andy McCarthy pushed back.

“Walz obviously misspoke, he didn’t mean he’d become friends with school shooters. C’mon. “This is a good, high-minded debate as things go these days. Let’s not make shit up.”

“I am not friends with school shooters,” deadpanned X user Three Year Letterman. “I am here to take firm stands even if they are not popular.”

Florida GOP Reps. Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna and South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace reposted the quote, with Luna adding that it was “concerning.”

Even former President Donald Trump got in on the action, posting a Trump-Vance 2024 sign on his Truth Social with a slogan written underneath.
“Not friends with school shooters,” it read.

His campaign also reposted video footage of Walz stumbling over his words.

“My daughter was killed in the Parkland school shooting,” posted Andrew Pollack, the father of Meadow Pollack, who was killed at the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

“It’s absolutely abhorrent that Tim Walz has befriended school shooters. Disqualifying.”

Walz made another appeal to gun owners, however, when he said he used to have his gun in the back of his car so he could go “pheasant hunting” after “football practice.”

He also said if America wants to stop school shootings — we should look to Finland.

“They don’t have this happen,” the Minnesota governor said. “Even though they have a high gun-ownership rate in the country, there are reasonable things that we can do to make a difference.”

Walz suggested the federal government had a role in taking away “some of these weapons out there” — but didn’t specify which.

“I appreciate what Tim said, actually, about Finland,” Vance responded, “because I do think it illustrates some of the frankly weird differences between our own country’s gun violence problem and Finland.”

The Ohio senator said that the US, unlike Finland, grapples with higher rates of depression and anxiety.

Vice President Kamala Harris has pledged to “ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, require universal background checks, and support red flag laws that keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people,” according to her and Walz’s campaign website.

The National Rifle Association, America’s gun lobby, formerly gave Walz an “A” rating for his voting record on gun legislation — but has downgraded him to an “F” during his two terms as governor.

The Harris-Walz campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Michigan town votes to oust entire govt. over Chinese factory plans

Residents were upset over the board approving a China-linked factory

(NewsNation) — A rural Michigan town voted to oust its entire local government Tuesday after the town board approved a Chinese-affiliated electric battery plant.

Residents of Green Charter Township, Michigan, strongly disapproved of their local township board’s decision to greenlight the construction of a Chinese-connected electric vehicle battery plant in their community.

A locksmith was even brought in Tuesday night to change the locks on the ousted officials’ former offices. The offices are now empty.

The project was expected to create more than 2,300 jobs as part of a $2.34 billion investment.

Despite the backlash from residents, the board moved forward with the Chinese-affiliated project.

“My family members fought communism, and you’re bringing it right here,” a local resident said last year.

When NewsNation visited the town in April, a resident named Corri Riebow who had no experience in politics said, “I don’t know (why they would approve it), other than somebody must be benefitting from it.”

Riebow then ran for clerk and won last night. “We just plan on making it as difficult as we possible for them to continue their process. They don’t even have a sight planned, they don’t have permits yet, so, we’re not their friend,” Riebow said of how the new government is going to handle Gotion, the company behind the plant.

However, it’s the possible communist connection that so many Green Charter Township residents said drove them to the polls and fueled the town’s anger.

The Chinese-affiliated company Gotion previously denied allegiance to the communist party of China. However, its corporate records say, “The company shall set up a party organization and carry out party activities in accordance with the constitution of the communist party of China.”

“Right now, we are not on friendly terms with China. They are threatening us. I consider them the enemy. I don’t want them here, either,” resident Harry King said.

With the overwhelming distrust for the town’s government, a clerk from a neighboring township ran the election and counted the ballots.

Cheers erupted as voters heard the results from the recall election held to vote out the entire town board.

The new board will be sworn in on Wednesday, and the process to keep Gotion out of their township will begin. Gotion has already bought the property, so the new board is expecting a long road ahead, but they said they are willing to fight.

“We want everyone to have a voice and not have any secrecy anymore. This whole thing that went down with Gotion was horrible from the first go around. And like I said, the people have spoken,” one woman told NewsNation during Tuesday night’s election celebration.

NewsNation reached out to Gotion for a comment. The company responded: “We are a multinational company and don’t believe in political posturing and are still committed to bringing thousands of jobs to the state of Michigan.”
