The ABC Action News I-Team has uncovered the record of a local plastic surgeon who has been arrested twice since 2020 for methamphetamine possession. Dr. William Wright Adams’ first felony criminal case was dropped. He’s now awaiting trial on his second crystal meth possession case. His license status is "Clear/Active" with no discipline or complaints

A St. Petersburg plastic surgeon who has been arrested twice since 2020 for methamphetamine possession is now awaiting trial on his second crystal meth case amid concerning details about the doctor's behavior.

Dr. William Wright Adams' first felony criminal case was dropped by prosecutors, but he now faces a December trial after police found meth in his backpack during a traffic stop while a patient waited under anesthesia in his office.

"They're putting someone to sleep right now for me to operate on. So I have to call them if I can't be there," Adams told officers in bodycam footage of the May 2022 arrest. "They're all waiting for me now."

Adams pleaded not guilty to meth possession and burglary charges from that arrest, although he has yet to stand trial 17 months later. This wasn't the doctor's first drug arrest, however.

In 2020, deputies seized crystal meth from Adams' backpack while he went through courthouse security during a dispute with an ex-boyfriend. That felony meth case was later dropped by the prosecutor in October 2020.

Beyond the drug allegations, records show deputies have responded to Adams' home more than 40 times in two years for "turbulent domestic" issues and fights with house guests. One guest went missing after threatening self-harm and was later found with meth.

Despite Adams' string of arrests and erratic behavior, the state health department shows his medical license remains clear and active. Meanwhile, the plastic surgeon continues seeing patients amid his impending trial.

President Biden seemed to suffer a verbal slip-up during a speech at a trade union conference in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

Biden, reading off a teleprompter, appeared to incorporate script instructions in the middle of his speech, resulting in an awkward applause line. The moment came during a section of his remarks straight out of a campaign stump speech.

"I see an America where we defend democracy, not diminish it. I see an America where we protect freedoms, not take them away," Biden said. "I see an economy that grows a lot in the bottom up where the wealthy pay their fair share, so we can have child care, paid leave and so much more, and still reduce the federal deficit and increase economic folks.

"Imagine what we could do next. Four more years, pause," he said before laughing.

Biden attended Wednesday's conference to receive an endorsement from the North American Building Trades Unions (NABTU).

Throughout his speech, Biden blasted former President Donald Trump as being anti-union and a defender of the ultra-wealthy. He went on to contrast his and Trump's economic policies as the "Scranton" plan and the "Mar-a-Lago" plan, referring to his hometown in Pennsylvania and Trump's residence in Florida.

Biden's teleprompter mix-up is only the latest in the president's long list of gaffes. Just on Tuesday, he delivered fodder to conservative commentators by mistakenly saying he and his party "can't be trusted."

Biden was speaking at a Florida campaign rally at the time, focusing on abortion in particular. During his critique of Trump's abortion stance, he flipped the tables on himself.

"I don’t know why we’re surprised by Trump. How many times does he have to prove we can't be trusted?" Biden said.

Audience members could be heard laughing after his comment, but Biden continued, seemingly not noticing the mistake.

Biden's critics on X had a field day with the gaffe, with many saying they were surprised to find themselves agreeing with the president.

WASHINGTON — Former President Barack Obama didn’t endorse Kamala Harris — saying Democrats would pick an unnamed “outstanding nominee” in his first statement on President Biden stepping aside from the party’s ticket.

Obama, 62, was joined by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in not immediately backing the 59-year-old vice president — following reports last week that both favored an “open” process to replace Biden.

“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” Obama said.

“But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.”

Some Democrats fear that Harris could further diminish the party’s chances against former President Donald Trump, 78, in the Nov. 5 election.

“I believe that Joe Biden’s vision of a generous, prosperous, and united America that provides opportunity for everyone will be on full display at the Democratic Convention in August,” Obama said.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker — a possible presidential contender — was among those who did not immediately back Harris, tweeting instead that “I will work every day to ensure that [Trump] does not win in November.”

In an indication congressional Democrats could break ranks and derail a quick consensus around Harris, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) told Politico on Sunday that he prefers an “open, responsive, democratic process” to pick Biden’s replacement.

Sen. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) told CBS he also favors a “truncated process” to replace Biden.

Pelosi, the first woman to hold the country’s third-most-powerful post, notably did not endorse Harris in her initial statement on Biden’s decision — potentially giving cover to dissenters.

“With love and gratitude to President Biden for always believing in the promise of America and giving people the opportunity to reach their fulfillment. God blessed America with Joe Biden’s greatness and goodness,” Pelosi said.

Harris would be the first female president, the second of African ancestry and the first of South Asian descent. Her mother immigrated to the United States from India and her father from Jamaica.

The Veep’s various demographic firsts are widely seen as a hindrance to any plan to dump her from the ticket, but Obama and Pelosi choosing not to endorse her could mute claims of sexism and racism.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a leader among left-wing Democrats, said in a TikTok video ahead of Biden’s decision that mutineers calling on the president to stand aside also wanted to drop Harris.

“I’m gonna say what a lot of these folks aren’t saying… If you think that there is consensus among the people who want Joe Biden to leave, that they will support Vice President Harris, you would be mistaken,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“I’m going to be honest for them. I’m in these rooms… a lot of them are not just interested in removing the president, they are interested in removing the whole ticket.”

Harris said in her own statement that she would work to “unite” Democrats ahead of a planned virtual vote on the party’s ticket in early August ahead of the Aug 19-22 Democratic convention in Chicago.

The director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, has belatedly resigned after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. But more accountability is required. Cheatle’s boss, the secretary of homeland security, Alejandro Mayorkas, must also resign.

Cheatle was grilled by lawmakers on Monday, with Republicans and Democrats calling for her resignation. Cheatle, however, stonewalled and punted on most of the questions. Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA) was among the lawmakers calling for her resignation. “The evidence coming to light has shown unacceptable operational failures,” Boyle said in a statement. “I have no confidence in the leadership of the United States Secret Service if Director Cheatle chooses to remain in her position.”

The bipartisan onslaught was not one that Cheatle could withstand.

A full investigation of the attempted assassination is underway, but it seems clear that inexcusable mistakes were made. Credible reports suggest that the Secret Service was undermanned at the event, that Trump’s campaign had requested additional staffing but was denied, that Thomas Matthew Crooks used both a rangefinder and a drone to scout out the rally grounds in advance, and that he used a ladder to climb up the roof of a building that itself was occupied by law enforcement.

The attempted assassination of a presidential candidate and former president is, to put it mildly, a big deal. It’s the sort of seismic event that would likely lead to parliamentary governments falling in other Western countries. And it demands nothing less than the resignation of a Cabinet-level official. Cheatle’s resignation will not suffice. Her superior, Mayorkas, should resign as well.

As head of the Department of Homeland Security, Mayorkas oversees the Secret Service, among other agencies. DHS was created in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and is the federal executive agency tasked with public security, its duties including anti-terrorism, border security, cyber security, and disaster prevention and management, among other responsibilities. It is unacceptable, post-July 13, for Mayorkas to remain in such an office. Significant measures to restore the public trust must be taken.

The last president to be shot was Ronald Reagan, who was wounded by John Hinckley in 1981. And the last candidate for the presidency to be shot was George Wallace, who was shot and paralyzed in 1972. The tragedy of July 13 is historic. A Cabinet official must answer for it.

Unfortunately, the public has witnessed a historic lack of accountability in recent years. No major officials resigned or were fired over the Afghanistan withdrawal, the COVID-19 response, and other recent disasters. Yet accountability is essential to the social contract between the governed and the government; it is a hallmark of democracies, something that makes them stand out when compared to totalitarian systems. That must change. Now is a good time to start.

Further research uncovered recent reports featuring the same footage. According to these reports, the incident in the viral video occurred in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China, in 2021 (here, here, & here). None of these reports mentioned the battery’s magnetic field as the cause of the explosion.

Additionally, these reports highlighted that, following Shanghai authorities’ revision of rules banning electric bicycles or their batteries from being brought indoors or into elevators, the video of the old incident is being shared for reference and awareness purposes.

Previously, Shanghai authorities banned bringing e-bike batteries indoors and prohibited commercial activities related to the assembly, addition, or modification of e-bikes (here, here & here). This government action came after multiple incidents of battery explosions caused by modifications and overheating (here).

A similar incident was reported in Singapore:

A similar incident involving an EV battery explosion in an elevator was reported in Singapore in 2021. According to the investigation, authorities determined that battery modifications were one of the causes of the explosion.

Many other social media posts are sharing the same viral video, alleging it shows this incident that occurred in Singapore. However, the viral video is not related to the Singapore incident. Circumstantial evidence supports this, as the reports on the Singapore incident included visuals that differ from the viral video. Specifically, the paintings on the wall adjacent to the elevator in the Singapore incident are different from those in the viral video (here & here).

Additionally, regarding the Singapore incident, these reports highlighted that after hearing screams, people from other flats on the lower floor rushed to the scene and extinguished the lift fire with buckets of water. In contrast, the viral video shows a couple waiting for the lift, observing the fire, and attempting to put it out using extinguishers (here & here). These differences further support that the viral video is not related to the incident reported in Singapore.

Magnetic field did not cause the fire:

The electric field inside a conductor is zero when there is no net movement of charge across it. In an ideal state, batteries do not produce a magnetic field. Magnetic fields are only generated during the charging or discharging of a battery. However, these magnetic fields are weak and not strong enough to cause an explosion (here).

The viral video clearly shows that the battery is not connected to any power sources. While external magnetic fields can affect batteries, their impact is minimal (here, here & here). Furthermore, the metal surface of the elevator does not generate a significant magnetic field, as there is no net movement of charge across it. Therefore, the elevator surface cannot influence the battery through magnetic fields (here). As a result, the claim that magnetic fields caused the fire in the viral incident is not substantiated.

Having been tortured, Rudolf Höss, who was the commander of Auschwitz from 1940 to 1943, almost certainly lied to save the lives of his wife and children. Even if torture and duress cannot be proven, the overwhelming reason for recognizing the utter falsity of the Höss confession is that the gassing method he described was not scientifically plausible.

Yet Höss’s conviction has stood, by inference, as a testament to the cruelty of Germans in general, since he was tried at Nuremberg, in 1947, and subsequently hanged on April 16th, 1947, in Poland.

Making a statement like this which doubts the officially ordained narrative can be a crime in a number of western "democracies," believe it or not, and it is at least considered to be reprehensible in those countries that have not (yet?) outlawed dissenting views on this topic.

This video discusses the social and judicial persecution of individuals voicing dissident opinions on the historical event usually referred to as the Holocaust. It castigates that persecution and lays bare the illegality and amorality of such activities. In addition, a number of the most striking historical arguments why dissenting = revisionist views on the Holocaust are reasonable, are presented. So, if I see them as fellow Transhumanists and marranos, why not join them? I've thought about it. There are many reasons why I would hesitate to do it. In any case I don't think that's a realistic option for me. The open-eye concept can only be carried so far. When a Jew (David Cole, for example) goes too far, they disown him.
