On June 8, 1967, Israeli war planes and torpedo boats attacked the USS Liberty, an intelligence gathering ship, while it was on a signals collections mission in international waters off the Sinai Peninsula during the Six-Day War.
It was the first attack on a U.S. navy vessel since Pearl Harbor, and the first attack on America by a Middle East nation. Of the 294-member crew, 34 Americans died and 174 were wounded during an attack that lasted as long as the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The ship, armed only with four machine guns, was first strafed by Israel Defense Forces aircraft, which took out its communication antennas so it could not radio for help. The Liberty was then bombed, hit with napalm and torpedoed.
It remains the only peacetime attack on a U.S. naval vessel that Congress formally refuses to investigate. As a result, some believe North Korea was emboldened to seize the USS Pueblo on Jan. 23, 1968, as that intelligence engaged in routine surveillance.
Israel claimed it mistook the Liberty for an enemy vessel. Surviving crewmen say that was not possible.
One cannot imagine the horror the crew went through, nor their anger that the White House twice called back aircraft assistance that Rear Admiral Lawrence Geis launched from carriers after a crewman jerry-rigged an antenna in the midst of the attack and sent an SOS call.
While recalling rescue planes a second time, President Lyndon Johnson reportedly told Geis he didn't care if the ship sank, he wasn't going to embarrass an ally. The mystery is how Johnson knew the attackers were Israelis. Not even the crewmen knew their attackers' identities because unmarked aircraft were used.
This, plus survivors' orders to keep silent about the attack or risk life in prison - or worse - and an investigator's allegation before he died that a cover up had been ordered by Admiral John McCain., Jr., father of current U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, have led to conspiracy theories.
It wasn't until Johnson died in 1973 - 12 years after the attack - that surviving crewmen broke their silence. Their voices have been joined by a litany of other interested parties, Israelis and pro-Israeli Americans.

I'm a Christian and I believe Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. But I can't help myself but think that this letter isn't authentic. First, in the gospels when the pharises bring Jesus in front of Pilate Pontius, Pilate speaks and acts like he never knew or even hear about Jesus, suggesting that Pilate couldn't knew Jesus before. Secondly, if Pilate would end his official letter to the Caesar with "Hallelujah" a jewish phrase, the Caesar would think Pilate is a traitor, preparing a revolution in Galilee. I might be wrong, I might be an unbeliever like Tomas was, but I think this letter isn't authentic. Anyway, regardless of this letter, Jesus is The One True God. Amen!

I work with a Jewish gentleman from Israel, both parents were born and raised in Israel. He has beautiful greenish blue eyes and olive skin as if he has a gentle tan and average brown hair. The Bible nowhere gives a physical description of what Jesus looked like during His incarnation. The closest thing we get to a description is in Isaiah 53:2b, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” All this tells us is that Jesus’ appearance was just like any other man’s – He was ordinary-looking. Isaiah was here prophesying that the coming suffering Servant would arise in lowly conditions and wear none of the usual emblems of royalty, making His true identity visible only to the discerning eye of faith.

I always took Pilate as a just man. Maybe, being a veteran, i relate more to the Romans than the Jews. I always found it interesting how Roman accounts of Jesus always portrayed him as righteous and maybe as something more. It was like, even non-believers could feel something about him. Pontius Pilate's letter to Ceasar is an incredible read. He truly believed Jesus was the son of God and the way he described his conversation with Jesus was an eye opener.
Also Pilate was a Governor, not Ceasar and it was shocking how little the Roman's had control of Jerusalem and the Jewish people during that time.

I think that even though Jesus was born in the middle east, He is going to look just how God wants Him to look, dark hair or blondish hair, blue eyes or brown and I think its incredibly arrogant of us to assume we know how God made Jesus to look. There are albino people who'd normally have dark skin. God can and does do what He wants, I think its wise to remember that. Nor should physical traits matter. I think thats a point in this, there are no written accounts of his features...why? Because its not what mattered. Its who He is that matters.

An HSI Miami representative told CNN's Carlos Suarez the law enforcement action was a "search warrant execution."
It is not yet clear if Combs or other residents are the target of the law enforcement actions. CNN has reached out to representatives for Combs for comment.
Aerial footage over Combs' home in LA showed multiple, armed law enforcement officers walking around the grounds of the property. Mobile command post vehicles were visible at both his home in LA and Miami, where agents were processing paperwork on card tables. It will take time to locate and process evidence given the substantial size of the properties, CNN's Josh Campbell reported.
Law enforcement were still present on the scenes Monday evening, according to CNN journalists on site.
Combs, 54, founded the music label Bad Boy in 1993, and has gone by stage names Puff Daddy and Diddy. Credited with work that is regarded as instrumental in the growth of the hip-hop genre, Combs has won three Grammys in his career, along with 14 nominations. While he achieved initial success with his music, Combs also became a notable producer as well as entrepreneur.
Though it is not known if Monday's law enforcement action is related, the event follows months of controversy for Combs.
In November 2023, Combs settled a suit brought by his former girlfriend, singer Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, who alleged she was raped and subjected to years of repeated physical and other abuses by Combs.
"A decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing," Ben Brafman, an attorney for Combs, told CNN in a statement at the time. "Mr. Combs' decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best."

GONZALES COUNTY, Texas (KSAT) - An RV park is now the center of a story that is hard to believe happened.

It started with a threat on a school bus and ended with investigators possibly solving a two-year homicide case and the suspect at the center of this is a 10-year-old boy.

According to the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office, the 10-year-old boy admitted he killed a man when he was just 7 years old.

Law enforcement said the child will not be charged with the homicide because he is too young.

The victim’s father, Kenneth Rasberry, said he could not believe that a child was the person investigators say killed his son, Brandon Rasberry.

Brandon Rasberry, 32, was found dead at the Lazy J RV Park in Nixon on January 18, 2022.

Investigators said that at the time, the boy had been staying with his grandfather who lived in that RV park.

Authorities said the boy told them he grabbed a 9mm gun out of his grandfather’s truck, went into Rasberry’s RV, saw him sleeping and shot him in the head. The boy also told investigators he had only seen Rasberry walking around the RV park earlier that day.

The boy’s identity has not been released because he is so young.
Investigators connected him to Rasberry’s death while they were investigating another recent case where the same boy was accused of threatening to assault and kill another student on a bus from the Nixon-Smiley Consolidated Independent School District.

When leaders from the district spoke with the child, they said he commented on shooting and killing a man two years ago.

The 10-year-old was booked on charges for the threat, but as for the death of Brandon Rasberry, the boy will not be criminally prosecuted.

He was 7 years old when the victim was killed and in the state of Texas, a child does not have criminal culpability until they are 10 years old.

A 22-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday night, according to police and sources.

The NYPD said that the victim was stabbed in the chest at around 10:17 pm, close to the junction of West 40th Street and Eighth Avenue. After being taken to Bellevue Hospital, she was declared dead, according to police.

Authorities added that a suspect, identified as a female wearing blue jeans and a white top, was observed running away down Eighth Avenue from the scene. The inquiry is underway and no one has been taken into custody.

Dominion Voting Systems: The second-largest vendor, Dominion, has publicly acknowledged using modems in their machines and running remote-access software during the 2020 election. For example, in Georgia, election worker Susan Voyles testified that Dominion employees operated remotely on ballot-marking devices and poll pads.

Findings from Wisconsin and Michigan: Investigations found Dominion and ES&S machines online and connected to the internet. In Michigan, a modem chip was discovered in an ES&S voting machine, potentially allowing hackers to intercept and manipulate election results.
