⁣⁣Parents furious after Burlington, Mass. students given survey with sexual questions

BURLINGTON, Mass. —

Parents and students voiced their concerns Tuesday night over a survey sent to Burlington Public Schools students that included some detailed questions about sexual behavior.

"Where the line was entirely crossed was the survey – disgusting and purely vile," said one 7th-grade student.

David Hanafin is the parent of another 7th grader. He opted out of allowing his son to take the survey, but says the school gave it to him anyway.

"The only thing parents are asking, teach kids to read, write, math, science, send them home, and we’ll take care of the rest," Hanafin said.

The school committee acknowledges that at least five students were given the survey even though their parents didn’t want them to take it.

The Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) asks questions about bullying, drug and alcohol use, gender identity, and nutrition.

"The YRBS has been used not to harm children, but ensure that we have data and facts to understand what is needed to protect them," one parent said.

Some parents voiced support for many of the covered topics. Still, most spoke out about the detailed sexual questions.

"This was a gross lapse in judgment," another parent said.

The district said it was a public health consultant who made additions to definitions used in this year's survey.

Two parents who did not want their children to take the survey have now filed complaints with the US Department of Education, saying the school broke the law, and they have the support of others who are demanding change.

"Let’s keep our schools centered on learning and not social agendas. Our children deserve better. And Conti, you need to step down," said one parent, referring to Burlington schools superintendent Dr. Eric Conti.

Put an outrageous price on things so no one questions it. In Mexico a doctor conned one of the family members into paying $400 USD for a gardasil shot for a 2 year old girl, and they did it. Effed that girl up TOTALLY, she withdrew and went into a black hole for years and they wondered about the shot but did not go after the doctor, after all if the shot was that terrible, why did it cost so much?

This is the EXACT tactic Pfizer is now using.

It won't work.

The pfizer exec freakout has hit 40 million views on Twitter while it is banned on all other platforms because Elon is chief twit! I have noticed however that if you embedded that video it still works, because Youtube did not want to create a bunch of blank embeds on the early birds which only generated 800,000 hits before they censored it for everyone else.

I just looked at the code Youtube directs the video through when you click from my site. My site name is part of the link that Youtube generated and it won't work if you remove my site from it. There are therefore only 1.2 million views on Youtube (probably ratioed, but that's what is showing) and 40 million views on Twitter.

So it works here. 41.2 million views is enough to screw pfizer a good one, That's probably equal to about 70 million actual people who saw it, so "critical mass" for that type of thing has been reached, it won't be buried no matter how much they raise the price.

Pattaya, Thailand — Nathy Odinson base jumps to his death after parachute fail.

BANGKOK - A British skydiver was killed on Jan 27 after he sneaked to the top of a 29-storey Pattaya condominium to jump from its rooftop, but his parachute failed to deploy, police said.

The skydiver was identified as Mr Nathy Odinson, 33, a British passport holder. His Facebook page, Nathy’s Sky Photography, has more than 5,000 likes and over 10,000 followers.

Police in Pattaya were alerted to the accident at 7.30pm and rushed to the building in Tambon Na Klua in the Bang Lamung district of Chonburi province and found Mr Odinson’s body on the ground.

A round blue parachute was found on his body and it was not fully deployed.

Security officials of the condo told police they heard a loud noise of a heavy object hitting the ground, and they later heard a woman crying, so they rushed out to check and found Mr Odinson in critical condition before he died.

The security officials said Mr Odinson had parked his car outside the condo and sneaked inside and went upstairs to do a base jump from the top with his friend filming a video on the ground.

They said the man hit tree branches before falling onto the ground.

They added that Mr Odinson had sneaked in to do base jumping several times earlier.

Police Captain Kamolporn Nadee, deputy inspector of Bang Lamung Police Station, said the victim’s friend, who waited to shoot the video on the ground, was interrogated. He said police would check security cameras of the condo before wrapping up the case.

We are all familiar with how a few companies are massive monopolies over entire industries. For instance, virtually every consumer brand is owned by one of these 9 companies.
But, did you know that it isn’t only consumer brands where one winner has indeed taken it all? Let me introduce you to a company called MindGeek.
MindGeek says it is “A leader in Web Design, IT, Web Development, and SEO”. But deep down, what is it?
MindGeek is a porn company. Not just any porn company — THE porn company. Some of their subsidiaries: Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn, PornMD, PornIQ, Peeperz, GayTube, Tube8, XTube, Babes.com, Brazzers, Digital Playground, Reality Kings, Twistys, Men.com, Mofos, Sextube, MyDirtyHobby, Webcams.com, Playboy’s online and TV operations, and MUCH MORE.
They have a virtual monopoly on online pornography. They have more traffic than Amazon, Facebook, or Twitter, and are likely in the top 3 companies in the world in terms of total bandwidth consumed.
The company was founded in 2004, but their claim to fame was the crash in the porn business that reached its peak in the late 2000s and early 2010s. From 2009 to 2015 they went on a buying spree, buying up every single porn website they could find at dirt cheap prices.
Ironically, this monopoly has created some strangely perverse incentives. Because MindGeek owns both porn aggregator sites as well as porn production sites, actors and actresses that work in MindGeek’s porn production business will regularly see their films hosted illegally on the aggregator sites. Of course, MindGeek doesn’t mind this, as they make money from advertisements anyway, and the actors and actresses obviously suffer.
This perverse incentive structure is in fact blamed for the downfall of the traditional porn industry. Because MindGeek owns everything, and therefore does not bother to try to remove production content from aggregator sites, production porn has continued to tank, while amateur uploads have continued to gain more prominence. Furthermore, no one can speak out about this, because if you piss of MindGeek, you are essentially done working in the industry (since MindGeek owns or has connections to every production company).
As you might imagine, all these shady practices have led to a few legal issues, ranging from tax evasion to antitrust lawsuits. But ultimately, MindGeek doesn’t care that much, because they are raking in billions. Sadly, I couldn’t find an exact figure on their revenues or profits 😟
There are some funny aspects of MindGeek as a result of them trying to put on a “non-porn” image (ala their website). If you look at their GlassDoor reviews, you’ll see people say things like “If you’re interested in the ‘Content Formatter’ job, just be aware you’re basically a glorified child porn screener, and you will be watching disgusting videos all day.” They have a solid 2.9/5 on GlassDoor.
So, just know the next time you choose between YouPorn, RedTube, PornHub, and Brazzers, it’s all the same. MindGeek owns us all.

An interesting anecdote, and a shot across the 1st Amendment asshats:

On June 11, 1936. Edmondson was indicted by a Grand Jury in New York City and charged with "libeling all persons of the Jewish Religion." In preparing his defense Edmondson subpoenaed some of the most prominent Jews of the time, including: Bernard Buruch, Henry Morgenthau, Rabbi Wise, Samuel Untermeyer, Mayor LaGuardia, James P. Warburg, Walter Lippmann and Justice Samuel Rosenman. In response, the American Jewish Committee petitioned the court to drop the charges against Edmondson. On May 10, 1938 the judge dismissed all indictments, ruling that there is no group libel law.

What are the federal gun charges against Hunter Biden?

In the three-count indictment, the president's son is charged with making false statements on a federal gun form about his drug use, certifying he was not a user of or addicted to any controlled substance during a period when prosecutors allege he was addicted to crack cocaine. Biden purchased a Colt Cobra .38 Special revolver, and it remained in his possession for 11 days before it was discarded in an outdoor receptacle by Hallie Biden, Hunter Biden's romantic partner at the time.

Hunter Biden's attorneys have decried the charges and argued they were "unconstitutional" and "unprecedented," as well as in violation of the diversion agreement they maintain was still legally binding and valid.

A flurry of motions to dismiss filed by Hunter Biden's attorneys were denied by Judge Noreika, and a federal appeals court rejected his motion to dismiss the gun charges in May.

Prosecutors are expected to introduce evidence that details Hunter Biden's use of controlled substances leading up to and during the period he purchased the firearm. In their trial brief, they reference his own admission of drug addiction in excerpts from his memoir, Beautiful Things, as well as photos and videos from his laptop and text messages.

The government also intends to include testimony from Hunter Biden's former romantic partners recounting his substance abuse, including his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle and Hallie Biden, the widow of his late brother, Beau Biden, and expert testimony from FBI and DEA agents.

Hunter Biden's attorneys seek to call their own expert witnesses on addiction and forensic psychiatry and forensic toxicology.

The charges were brought by special counsel David Weiss who was appointed U.S. attorney for Delaware by former President Donald Trump and named special counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland in 2023. Federal probes into Hunter Biden, led by Weiss, spanned five years over the course of both the Trump and Biden administrations.

Attorneys for Hunter Biden asserted that Weiss "buckled under political pressure to bring more severe charges" after the plea agreement elicited a "sharp rebuke" from former President Trump and his Republican allies when it was first made public. Weiss' office slammed claims that the charges were fueled by politics and were pursued to appease Republicans.

"The charges in this case are not trumped up or because of former President Trump—they are instead a result of the defendant's own choices and were brought in spite of, not because of, any outside noise made by politicians," prosecutors said.

Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison and $750,000 in fines if convicted on all counts.
