The question everyone asks about Ross Perot is: “How would the outcome of the 1992 election have been different if he wasn’t in the race?”

The conventional wisdom is that George H.W. Bush would have won. Perot, an independent candidate, was a former Republican and ran on a conservative economic message. He won almost 20 percent of the popular vote. Most of his support would have gone to Bush, right?

In the latest installment in our documentary podcast series re-examining past presidential elections, we dig through the archives and talk to people involved in all three 1992 campaigns to suss out Perot’s true impact on the race. We found an answer to our original question — “What would’ve happened if Ross Perot didn’t run?” — but we also found ourselves asking an even more complicated question: “What would have happened if Ross Perot had run as a major-party candidate?”

Donald Trump’s candidacy gives us glimpse of what might have happened if Perot had run within the two party system. Both Perot and Trump ran as political outsiders, successful businessmen and populists. Their messages were simple. In Perot’s case, the national debt was “destroying the country,” and in Trump’s case, illegal immigration is “destroying the country.” Both men were protectionist on trade and said they would demand U.S. allies pay more for defense. But many of their policy proposals were vague or nonexistent.

Both the Perot and Trump campaigns relied on their candidate’s charisma, a simple message and a successful media strategy. Perot was an early darling of cable TV news, frequently appearing on talk shows like “Larry King Live.” He was also willing to harness unusual media strategies — he even did 30-minute infomercials, complete with charts. Trump’s presence on American television has been so ubiquitous that by March one firm that tracks advertising estimated he had received $2 billion worth of free media.

Both campaigns broke completely with political norms and proved surprisingly resilient in the face of prodding journalism and suggestions that the candidates were unfit to be president.

As Democratic strategist James Carville put it, “If Donald Trump is the kind of Jesus of the disenchanted, displaced non-college white voter, then Perot was the John the Baptist of that sort of movement.”

The difference is: Perot ran outside the two-party system. Nearly 20 million people cast a ballot for him, but he didn’t win a single vote in the Electoral College. Trump has run within the system. He got 13 million votes in the Republican primary, enough to win the nomination, and enough to put him within striking distance of the White House.

“Even though Americans say that they’re not partisan, they still have a home,” said Republican pollster Frank Luntz. “They still start by being a Republican or a Democrat and then they move based on the candidates or the environment of that election.”

Since 1992, the common narratives about Perot have been that he was a spoiler (unlikely) or that he was an anomaly (the most successful third-party candidate since 1912, at least in terms of the share of the popular vote won). But Trump’s rise suggests that Perot, a charismatic populist, may have been something else: a harbinger.

Alex Jones is back on X (formerly Twitter) after Elon Musk randomly decided to leave it to a vote among users to see how they felt about it ... and as they say, the people have spoken.

The notorious conspiracy theorist -- who infamously questioned the legitimacy of the Sandy Hook shooting, and got taken to court over it -- regained control of his account again late Saturday after being removed from the platform years ago.

This all happened back in 2018 when tech companies banned him en masse. At the time, he was embroiled in defamation lawsuits from the families of the Sandy Hook victims ... but that controversy, in and of itself, wasn't why he got banned -- different orgs. cited different reasons, but it all boiled down to what they said were violations of their policies.

For Twitter -- the last social media company to ban him -- they ended up citing abusive behavior by Jones and his account ... similar to what the other companies ended up saying.

In any case, Musk reversed the decision with a poll. He wrote, "Reinstate Alex Jones on this platform? Vox Populi, Vox Dei." After leaving the poll up for a full day, the results came in -- and out of nearly 2 million people that participated, 70% said he oughta be brought back.

Once the poll wrapped, EM wrote ... "The people have spoken and so it shall be." He also responded to some concerned users who felt Jones could potentially pose a threat on X -- but Elon clarified, "He cannot break the law." So, it sounds like AJ will be monitored.

Jones hasn't tweeted any new original content after being reinstated, but he has retweeted a few people who are celebrating his return -- including Andrew Tate, who wrote ... "To show respect to Alex Jones for his triumphant return and to show respect to Elon being a hero - tell a globalist to get f****d today." Jones has retweeted other far-right figures too.

Jones continues to run his InfoWars website and channel, and broadcasts his program from there daily -- but, he doesn't have mainstream distribution on social media or otherwise.

He remains controversial for many reasons, some of which he addressed in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson ... who sat down with Jones for a wide-ranging interview.

Now that he has a big platform again, we'll see what he says ... and if he goes too far for Elon's taste. These days, the guy seems to be embracing a wide range of speech, period.

A group of illrgals pummeled NYPD officers attempting to make an arrest outside a shelter in Times Square, police and sources said Tuesday.
Two officers and a lieutenant from the NYPD’s Midtown South Precinct approached the group of men outside a migrant shelter on W. 42nd St. near Seventh Ave. around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, cops said.
The incident seemed likely to raise the temperature of the already heated debate surrounding the migrant crisis, in which more than 100,000 migrants came to the city last year.
The officers were trying to break up the disorderly crowd outside the Candler Building, where the city announced the opening of a mega-shelter in March. When the cops attempted to put one of the men under arrest, multiple people attacked, according to authorities.
The men kicked and punched the officers in the head and body, video released by police shows.
The lieutenant suffered a cut to his face during the melee. He was treated on the scene along with his colleagues, according to cops.
Two 19-year-old illegals, a 24-year-old illegal and a 21-year-old illegal (all male) were arrested at the scene. All were charged with assault on a police officer.
They were released following arraignments in Manhattan Criminal Court.

The city’s largest cop union decried their release.

“Attacks on police officers are becoming an epidemic, and the reason is [the] revolving door we’re seeing in cases like this one,” Patrick Hendry, president of the Police Benevolent Association, said in a statement. “It is impossible for police officers to deal effectively with crime and disorder if the justice system can’t or won’t protect us while we do that work.”

Police are still searching for five other male illegals involved in the brawl. They released photos of the wanted men in the hopes someone may recognize them. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS

During a bond hearing on Sunday, Gil’s lawyers argued that the teen’s charges should be dropped as they claim Miami-Dade law doesn’t apply to him because he had consular immunity. [Local 10]

Gil’s attorney said he is confident the teen will be exonerated “when all the facts come to light.” [Local 10]

“Defense counsel’s representation was relied upon and the defendant was released on his own recognizance,” a Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office spokesperson said, according to Local10.

“After receiving confirmation from the State Department, Office of Foreign Missions, that neither the defendant nor his father have diplomatic immunity, we are proceeding as usual with our investigation. Mr. Gil remains charged and the case is still open.”

When blatant disregard for local and federal laws are committed, there should be no diplomatic immunity. If it were a true accident, I can see where diplomatic immunity can be used. But, this kid didn’t do that. The U.S. should NOT tolerate or provide immunity to the diplomat or his dependents for intentionally breaking the law. No country should provide such protections. DUI/DWI is intentional. Murder or intent to commit murder should not be protected. Drug trafficking/sales/distribution should not be protected. Human trafficking should not be tolerated. Theft, spying, selling US secrets, etc… Just because they are representing their country doesn’t mean they can disrespect ours AND it should mirror in all NATO countries.

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has officially announced her plans to step down next month.
McDaniel, 50, who has held the post for seven years, said she plans to resign on March 8.

When you’ve got people setting themselves on fire, you’ve reached a point where the people really feel as if they have no ability whatsoever to influence the policies of the government.
Democracy is now in complete overload mode, where the views of the people are effectively the diametric opposite of the policies of the government.

A man is in a critical condition after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington DC, authorities said on Sunday.
The Metropolitan police department said it responded to an incident on International Drive around 1pm to assist the Secret Service. Fire and emergency services said the man had serious burn injuries.
“An adult male was transported by DC Fire and EMS [Emergency Medical Services] to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition,” the police department said on Twitter/X.
A video posted online which showed a man in a uniform shouting “Free Palestine” as he burned and also identified himself as an active US Air Force member, appeared to be the man in the incident, according to multiple officials, the Washington Post reported. An Air Force spokesperson told the Post they had not identified the man, who was reportedly on fire for about a minute before law enforcement put it out.
I want to say that this is stupid.
If he was actually willing to die for the cause, there are several other things he could have done that would have sent a more efficient message.

I'm a Christian and I believe Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. But I can't help myself but think that this letter isn't authentic. First, in the gospels when the pharises bring Jesus in front of Pilate Pontius, Pilate speaks and acts like he never knew or even hear about Jesus, suggesting that Pilate couldn't knew Jesus before. Secondly, if Pilate would end his official letter to the Caesar with "Hallelujah" a jewish phrase, the Caesar would think Pilate is a traitor, preparing a revolution in Galilee. I might be wrong, I might be an unbeliever like Tomas was, but I think this letter isn't authentic. Anyway, regardless of this letter, Jesus is The One True God. Amen!

The Bible nowhere gives a physical description of what Jesus looked like during His incarnation. The closest thing we get to a description is in Isaiah 53:2b, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” All this tells us is that Jesus’ appearance was just like any other man’s – He was ordinary-looking. Isaiah was here prophesying that the coming suffering Servant would arise in lowly conditions and wear none of the usual emblems of royalty, making His true identity visible only to the discerning eye of faith.

Pontius Pilate's letter to Ceasar is an incredible read. He truly believed Jesus was the son of God and the way he described his conversation with Jesus was an eye opener.
Also Pilate was a Governor, not Ceasar and it was shocking how little the Roman's had control of Jerusalem and the Jewish people during that time.

I think that even though Jesus was born in the middle east, He is going to look just how God wants Him to look, dark hair or blondish hair, blue eyes or brown and I think its incredibly arrogant of us to assume we know how God made Jesus to look. There are albino people who'd normally have dark skin. God can and does do what He wants, I think its wise to remember that. Nor should physical traits matter. I think thats a point in this, there are no written accounts of his features...why? Because its not what mattered. Its who He is that matters.

Missing 13th Amendment Found: “No Lawyers In Public Office”

A missing 13th amendment to the U.S. Constitution has been found which says that no lawyers should be allowed into public office

The 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States has been altered from its original in order to fool the American public into accepting a government that is mostly illegally in office.

In the winter of 1983, archival research expert David Dodge, and former Baltimore police investigator Tom Dunn, were searching for evidence of government corruption in public records stored in the Belfast Library on the coast of Maine.

By chance, they discovered the library’s oldest authentic copy of the Constitution of the United States (printed in 1825). Both men were stunned to see this document included a 13th Amendment that no longer appears on current copies of the Constitution. Moreover, after studying the Amendment’s language and historical context, they realized the principle intent of this “missing” 13th Amendment was to prohibit lawyers from serving in government. So began a seven year, nationwide search for the truth surrounding the most bizarre Constitutional puzzle in American history — the unlawful removal of a ratified Amendment from the Constitution of the United States.

Since 1983, Dodge and Dunn have uncovered additional copies of the Constitution with the “missing” 13th Amendment printed in at least eighteen separate publications by ten different states and territories over four decades from 1822 to 1860. In June of this year (1991), Dodge uncovered the evidence that this missing 13th Amendment had indeed been lawfully ratified by the state of Virginia and was therefore an authentic Amendment to the American Constitution. If the evidence is correct and no logical errors have been made, a 13th Amendment restricting lawyers from serving in government was ratified in 1819 and removed from the U.S. Constitution during the tumult of the Civil War. Since the Amendment was never lawfully repealed, it is still the Law today. The implications are enormous.

The story of this “missing” Amendment is complex and at times confusing because the political issues and vocabulary of the American Revolution were different from our own. However, there are essentially two issues: What does the Amendment mean? and, Was the Amendment ratified? Before we consider the issue of ratification, we should first understand the Amendment’s meaning and consequent current relevance.

MEANING of the 13th Amendment

The “missing” 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows:

“If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them.”

At the first reading, the meaning of this 13th Amendment (also called the “title of nobility” Amendment) seems obscure; unimportant. The references to “nobility,” “honour,” “emperor,” “king,” and “prince,” lead us to dismiss this Amendment as a petty post-revolution act of spite directed against the British monarchy. The U.S. modern world of Lady Di and Prince Charles, make anti-royalist sentiments seem so archaic and quaint, that the Amendment can be ignored.

Not so. Consider some evidence of its historical significance: First, “titles of nobility” were prohibited in both Article VI of the Articles of Confederation (1777) and in Article I, Sections 9 and 10 of the Constitution of the United States (1787);

Second, although already prohibited by the Constitution, an additional “title of nobility” amendment was proposed in 1789, again in 1810, and according to Dodge, finally ratified in 1819. Clearly, the founding fathers saw such a serious threat in “titles of nobility” and “honors” that anyone receiving them would forfeit their citizenship. Since the government prohibited “titles of nobility” several times over four decades, and went through the amending process (even though “titles of nobility” were already prohibited by the Constitution), it’s obvious that the Amendment carried much more significance for our founding fathers than is readily apparent today.
