In 2001, then IL state Sen. Barack Obama for the 2nd year in a row was the sole senator opposing Born Alive Infant bills state senate floor.

Audio of senate floor debates is destroyed when transcripts are written. Until now only the Chicago Tribune was known to have audio of this debate but has not released it.

But we now have it. In the audio Obama is arguing against calling for a 2nd physician if the 1st physician - the abortionist - has decided the baby s/he has just aborted alive is nonviable.

Most would recognize the potential for subjective opinion in this case. The abortionist is being paid to kill the baby predelivery, and a live birth would indicate s/he botched, for one thing.

For another, often these babies are being aborted because the abortionist has stated they are handicapped. A living baby could also be evidence the abortionist made a wrong diagnosis.

Barack Obama, a self-professed champion of the little guy and opponent of bullies, in this case argued in favor of trusting the abortionist. And the reasons are obvious. The abortion lobby in 2008 promised to spend $30 MILLION for their candidates as well as get out the vote.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested by federal agents in Manhattan on Monday after being indicted by a grand jury on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Allegations of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse have been piling up against Combs since late last year, when Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a civil suit against Combs, her ex-boyfriend. Combs settled the case out of court the day after it was filed, but since then nine more people have come forward with their own allegations of abuse against the rapper.

In the federal indictment, which was unsealed on Tuesday, the prosecution argues that Combs “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.” According to the indictment, Combs created a “criminal enterprise,” the members of which “engaged in or attempted to engage in … sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”

The indictment itself doesn’t go into too many specifics — those will likely come out during the trial — but there are some disturbing details included by the prosecution.

Diddy allegedly forced his victims to participate in “Freak Offs”

According to the indictment, Combs would use his power to “intimidate, threaten, and lure” female victims into his orbit, often under the pretense of a romantic relationship. He would then force them to engage in “Freak Offs” with male sex workers, which are described in the indictment as “elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded.” According to prosecutors, Freak Offs could last days, during which Combs “distributed a variety of controlled substances to victims, in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant.” Combs and his victims allegedly received IV fluids after Freak Offs to recover from the physical exertion and drug use.

These details mirror those made by Ventura in the civil complaint she filed against Combs last year. Ventura stated that she was given “ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, and alcohol in excessive amounts” which allowed her to disassociate while engaging in sex acts with sex workers at Combs’s direction. Eventually, Ventura claimed, she was tasked with facilitating hiring the sex workers and finding the location for Combs’s Freak Offs.
The Feds found a lot of baby oil at Diddy’s homes

In March, Combs’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided. Prosecutors say that federal agents seized “Freak Off supplies” in the process, which included drugs and “more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.”

In Ventura’s complaint, she alleged that Combs’s assistants were tasked with stocking hotel rooms with “baby oil and Astroglide” before Freak Offs. She claimed that during Freak Offs, Combs would instruct her “to pour excessive amounts of oil over herself.”

Physical abuse was rampant

Throughout the indictment, the prosecution claims that Combs was regularly physically abusive toward his victims. They claim that Combs assaulted women by “striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking them.” They also claim that he “hit, kicked, threw objects at, and dragged victims, at times, by their hair.”

Earlier this year, security footage of Combs physically assaulting Ventura in the hallway of a Los Angeles hotel was released by CNN. In the footage, you can see him throwing a vase at her, kicking her, and dragging her down the hallway. In her lawsuit, Ventura had described a similar event.

Prosecutors also allege that firearms were used to threaten Combs’s victims. The indictment claims that not only did Combs’s security personnel occasionally carry firearms, but that Combs himself “carried or brandished firearms to intimidate and threaten others” on more than one occasion. When Combs’s homes were raided, federal officers seized firearms and ammunition, including three AR-15s with defaced serial numbers.
Prosecutors believe Diddy’s employees were a huge part of the operation

In addition to helping to facilitate Freak Offs — which included hiring and booking travel for sex workers, arranging hotel rooms, and procuring supplies — Combs’s employees, the indictment claims, were a crucial aspect in maintaining control over his victims. Prosecutors allege that Combs’s employees would witness his violence toward his victims and not intervene. Rather, they would help conceal the violence and abuse by preventing victims from leaving the site at which they had been assaulted.

Ever since the televised debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump on Sept. 10, Springfield, Ohio, has become an epicenter for ferocious anti-immigrant attacks. As he struggled to regain his footing against the vice president, Trump dredged up disproved claims promoted by his running mate, J.D. Vance, who said that Haitian immigrants in Springfield were eating dogs and cats.

The false allegation, as New York Times columnist Lydia Polgreen argued, tapped into some of the worst nativist sentiment. “There is a long and grim tradition of demonizing Haitians in the United States,” Polgreen wrote, pointing to how the claim revolved around two cherished elements of life, food and pets. Polgreen argued that the situation is a reminder of the threat a second Trump term would pose. “In his elevation of something akin to blood libel against a group of blameless legal immigrants who came to America from their strife-torn nation in search of a better life through hard work… he has proved himself a dangerous and malevolent figure.” Indeed, anti-Haitian sentiment is deeply rooted in American culture, dating back to the Haitian revolution of 1791-1804, when there was a strong reaction against the overthrow of French rule. This rhetoric has frequently included accusations of animal consumption, as well as cannabalism.

As polls demonstrate that immigration remains a top concern for many American voters, Trump’s rhetoric in recent weeks has only become more toxic. At a rally on Long Island, New York, he warned his adoring crowd: “They’re coming from the Congo. They’re coming from Africa. They’re coming from the Middle East. They’re coming from all over the world—Asia. A lot of it coming from Asia. What’s happening to our country is we’re just destroying the fabric of life in our country. We’re not going to take it any longer. You got to get rid of these people. Give me a shot.”

Besides circulating a dangerous and toxic set of illiberal ideas that has caused Ohio officials to station guards at the Springfield schools and prompted two local colleges to go remote, Trump’s narrative erases the city’s real lesson for the United States: how immigrants are revitalizing decaying economic areas that have been left behind for decades.

Like places in many other so-called Rust Belt states, Springfield had been a city that struggled as the new high tech, financial service-centered economy took hold in the 1990s. But now, Springfield is booming. The recent history of the city shows not why immigrants are a threat to existing populations, but why they are part of the solution to economic decline and malaise.

This has been the history of immigration in the United States since the founding, and it remains just as important today as ever before.

For much of the 20th century, Springfield, Ohio, located about 45 miles from Columbus, was one of the thriving small cities of the Midwestern United States. Manufacturing had been at the heart of the economy since the late 19th century. In 1902, when the companies that produced Champion harvesters joined with several other brands in the merger that created International Harvester Co., more jobs and money came to the community with the production of agricultural machinery.

In addition to International Harvester, the local economy benefited from the presence of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, Crowell-Collier Publishing Company, and several other businesses. Though it was certainly not New York, Chicago, or Columbus, Springfield embodied the kind of bustling small city that was at heart of the American Century.

But like many of these cities, the area suffered greatly in the late 20th and early 21st centuries as factories closed and jobs went overseas. Between 1970 and 2020, the population fell from more than 80,000 to less than 60,000.

When Newsweek magazine sought in 1983 to capture for readers what was happening in this increasingly economically desolate section of the country, it zeroed in on Springfield; the editors said it had once been a “dream city.” The magazine

Nearly all of the 13 young men charged over the infamous hideout — which went viral when it was discovered in January — scoffed at the offer from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office that would see them barred from the historic Crown Heights temple for three years.

“Being banned from 770 [Eastern Parkway] for three years is worse than jail,” one of the defendants, Yaakov Rothchild, told The Post in Hebrew through a translator, referring to the headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.

Rothchild could face up to seven years behind bars on felony charges of second-degree criminal mischief if he takes his chances at trial.

He and 12 of his co-defendants — who face obstruction of justice charges — could be headed to trial in January if they fail to come to an agreement with prosecutors.

Rothchild’s attorney, Jonathan Fink, called the suggestion of a Jan. 13, 2025 trial “silly,” noting the magnitude of the cases, which charges the renegades — including rabbinical students — of hiding inside a hole in a wall they’d damaged and refusing to get out despite police orders, according to court documents.

Fink also shot down the deal on the table, saying it had “no chance” of being accepted, during a hearing in Brooklyn Supreme Court Thursday.

The agreement would have most defendants pleading down to fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, in exchange for no jail time. They would instead face a three year ban from the house of worship and either 20 days of community service or $5,000 in restitution.

Assistant District Attorney Frank Longobardi argued the ban was necessary, noting the defendants were caught posing with a sign that said “Expand 770” — a reference to the tunnel-digging at the synagogue — at their arraignments in April.

“It’s our concern, for that reason, that they’ve shown that they’re not going to stop doing that,” Longobardi said. “When this case is over, they’re going to do the same thing.”

Judge Adam Perlmutter acknowledged that both sides were at a stalemate, and wondered if the terms of the restraining order sought by prosecutors could be tailored to allow the students access to the synagogue.

But if any more tunnel-digging occurred, the defendants would be charged with criminal contempt and face jail, the judge warned.

“[If] somebody does so much as lifts a toothpick towards demolishing cement or whatever in that facility, that individual could very well face a year on Rikers, a year of incarceration,” Perlmutter said.

Only one defendant — Menachem Molekandov, who lives in Israel — is considering taking the prosecution’s deal, according to his attorney Levi Huebner.

Molekandov appeared virtually to plead guilty but there was a holdup on what type of community work he would do since the judge wants it to be “meaningful” service done outside of religious organizations.

When the judge reminded him that he must remain away from the synagogue, Molekandov, who has a warrant out for his arrest, reassured him that he wouldn’t go back.

“Your honor, I just want you to know — since I’m unable to go to the United States, there’s no way for me to dig any tunnels,” Molekandov said.

Chabad-Lubavitch, referred to as 770, is considered one of most sacred buildings in the Big Apple.

Sources have said that the group of rebels used shovels to dig a secret excavation under the house or worship beginning during the pandemic because higher-ups were slow to expand the synagogue’s sanctuary.

They first gained entry into a deserted Jewish man’s ritual bath on Kingston Avenue and then busted through a 2-by-2-foot metal gate in the former bath’s basement before digging their way under a sanctuary space used by women next door to the synagogue.

The wannabe miners also attempted to stop cement-truck workers from filling their excavation sites earlier this year in an effort to protect it when cops were called. Prosecutors said Thursday that the cement had since been filled.

The melee outside of the synagogue, that broke out when the students allegedly refused police orders to scram, was caught on video and quickly went viral.

The synagogue is a popular place for students to study the teaching of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, aka the “Rebbe,” who called on expanding the building before his death in 1994.

For Yerachmiel Blumenfeld, another defendant in the case, the synagogue is the “House of Rebbe” that isn’t just any regular temple.

“It’s a very important place where we learn, pray and connect with our leader. This is a very meaningful thing for us,” Blumenfeld said. “This particular synagogue has a bigger meaning to us than going to another synagogue.”
