Dark Web Data Theft Leads To Arrest Of 40 Suspects In Massive Bank Fraud Operation

Authorities have apprehended 40 suspects involved in a large-scale bank fraud operation that relied on personal information stolen from the dark web. The scheme, which targeted unsuspecting victims in the Houston area and beyond, resulted in the theft of between $360,000 and $600,000.

The investigation, dubbed “Operation Cash Back,” revealed that the group behind the fraud was well-organized, with leaders including 23-year-old Gregory Edwards III, 25-year-old Doc Frank, 20-year-old Jayson Gipson, and 21-year-old Lajewel McGilbray. These individuals have been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and money laundering.

Mont Belvieu Police Chief Jimmy Ellison explained that the criminals accessed victims’ bank accounts using stolen data to make unauthorized wire transfers. The group then enlisted friends, family members, and even acquaintances from social media to launder the stolen money through legitimate accounts.

“Once they get the information, they start making wire transfers out of the victim’s bank accounts,” Ellison said. “But, in order for them to be successful, they have to transfer that money into a clean account, and that’s where they began recruiting other people.”

The criminal network extended beyond Texas, with some associates located as far away as Georgia and Illinois. Mont Belvieu police are continuing their investigation to identify additional participants in the scheme.

An online security expert emphasized the importance of protecting personal information by avoiding the reuse of passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and using biometric security options when available. Authorities urge the public to stay vigilant as they work to dismantle the operation and bring all involved to justice.

Problem:I am receiving very little response regarding the way that I have been controlled by anonymous for over 1 year. I have had some reasonable responses but not nearly the amount of questions based on the gravity of what I am exposing.

What:This massive change in my life where some anonymous source started controlling me in a very real observed physical way was in February 2021 however there were some times in the past few years where I was given money or items I needed to survive in very unusual ways.

When:I believe my life has been fairly average and mundane until our first child was stolen. Then I spent years of my life and still do pursuing her immediate return. I was able to to walk great distances to court, survive in deadly environments like downtown Los Angeles, and problem solve while I went to court almost every day and volunteered for NLS for years. Even though I was in pretty great shape and made exercise videos during this time, I was in charge of where I went and what I did at all times. Then, starting about 4 years ago I was tortured in real physical and mental ways at various locations by the corrupted in the United States government services and I was still in control of what I did and where I went after I was released or discharged despite the deadly drugs and threats they made. The last time I was released from detention on false charges was a couple years ago and I started to notice that I was able to do things that were too well coordinated to be "Lucky." I would receive money from machines that I was not owed and bags of clothing when I was not expecting it. Then in February of this year (2021) all of my technology was taken over and some anonymous source began controlling every aspect of my life and activity. Biden Energy Secretary Granholm admits false testimony about owning stocks

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm admitted in a letter Friday that she made a false statement when she recently told lawmakers she didn't own any individual stocks.

While Granholm divested from a variety of stocks in 2021, she acknowledged in the letter — which was sent to Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee leadership — that she maintained shares of six companies. On April 20, however, Granholm testified under oath that she had sold all of her shares of individual companies.

"As you know, as part of the confirmation process before this Committee, in 2021 I divested from assets that could be in conflict with my official duties," Granholm wrote in the letter obtained by Fox News Digital. "I did, however, retain assets that were determined by Government ethics officials to not conflict with my official duties."

"I mistakenly told the Committee that I did not own any individual stocks, whereas I should have said that I did not own any conflicting stocks. In order to make my financial holdings consistent with my testimony, on May 18, 2023, I divested my remaining stock holdings which consisted of stock in six companies, even though these assets were deemed non-conflicting," she continued.

Granholm didn't say in the letter which companies she had owned shares of — and which she divested from on May 18 — but vowed to share that information in her Annual Public Financial Disclosure Report in mid-June.

In addition, Granholm said she discovered on May 13 that her husband Daniel Mulhern owned $2,457.89 worth of shares in Ford Motor Company. Those shares were then sold on May 15, a Monday, when the stock market opened.

Granholm acknowledged she hadn't disclosed those shares in her two prior Public Financial Disclosure Reports and had mistakenly believed her family's divestiture of Ford was complete in early 2021. The Ford stock she and her husband held in their retirement accounts had been sold off on March 22, 2021, she said.

"As a public servant, I take very seriously the commitment to hold myself to the highest ethical standards, and I regret the accidental omission of my spouse’s interest in Ford," Granholm added in the letter. "This is a commitment I made to you, the President, and most importantly the American people."

"My spouse and I have double-checked our financial assets, and there are no other reportable assets that were omitted from my financial disclosure report," she concluded.

In response to the letter, Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member John Barrasso, R-Wyo., criticized Granholm.

"Secretary Granholm lied to the committee about her family’s stock holdings," Barrasso said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "This comes after her failure to follow basic ethics and disclosure rules. This is a troubling pattern. It is unacceptable."

Granholm noted that all of her transactions listed in the letter would be disclosed on a Public Financial Disclosure Periodic Transaction Report in July.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, an Energy Department spokesperson said Granholm remained committed to "the highest ethical standards."

"The Secretary takes the commitment to uphold the highest ethical standards very seriously, which is why, upon realizing a comment made in error, the Secretary moved quickly to divest non-conflicting assets along with an asset held by her spouse of which she was previously unaware," the spokesperson said.

"The letter submitted to Congress clarifying the record underscores the Secretary’s commitment to transparency and to leading a DOE that puts the interests of the American people above all else."

OVER-THE-COUNTER MOUTHWASH USE, NITRIC OXIDE AND HYPERTENSION RISK

Abstract
Purpose:
Mouthwash is used by a large population. Short-term clinical trials have shown that antibacterial mouthwash deplete oral nitrate-reducing bacteria, and decrease systemic nitric oxide bioavailability. Our previous publication from the San Juan Overweight Adults Longitudinal Study (SOALS) was the first to show frequent over-the-counter mouthwash use was independently associated with increased risk of prediabetes/diabetes. This manuscript evaluates whether over-the-counter mouthwash was associated with increased risk of hypertension.

Materials and Methods:
SOALS recruited 40-65 year old overweight/obese individuals; baseline evaluations started in 2011 and the 3-year follow-up exam was completed by 2016. From the 1028 participants (76%) who completed follow-up, we excluded people with reported physician diagnosis of hypertension or systolic or diastolic BP at or above the hypertension cutoffs (n=481), missing smoking (n=1), missing physical activity (n=1) and missing alcohol intake (n=5) at baseline; 540 participants were included. The primary exposure was mouthwash use twice daily or more. The primary outcome for this manuscript is self-reported physician-diagnosed hypertension over the follow-up. We used Poisson regression controlling for age, sex, smoking, physical activity, waist circumference, alcohol intake, systolic blood pressure, pre-diabetes/diabetes status and cardiac medication use. We additionally evaluated other mouthwash use categorizations.

Results:
Twelve percent (66/540) developed hypertension over follow-up. Several additional potential confounders evaluated did not impact these associations. Associations persisted among never smokers. Additional outcomes including BP assessed at a single study visit did not show associations.

Conclusion:
In this study, frequent regular use of over-the-counter mouthwash was associated with increased risk of hypertension, independent of major risk factors for hypertension and several other potential confounders.
