⁣Michael Schenker Group will release their new album Universal on 27 May 2022 through Atomic Fire Records.

Michael Schenker and Michael Voss produced Universal at Voss’s Kidroom Studio. “Michael Voss is happy to wait until I have worked out an idea,” Schenker says, “and takes the time to really get to know the song, simultaneously developing ideas for the vocals. Then we work out the drums, bass and some keyboard parts together. He always has plenty of great ideas up his sleeve.”

Schenker is joined by an impressive selection of musicians. Former Rainbow keyboard player Tony Carey takes a Tarot Woman Moog inspiration on Calling Baal, a intro to the rock anthem A King Has Gone. Sung by Michael Kiske from Helloween, A King Has Gone is a tribute to the late Ronnie James Dio and features the Rainbow rhythm section of Bobby Rondinelli and Bob Daisley.

Set to be another highlight, The Universe features an atmospheric duet by Ronnie Romero and Gary Barden. The artwork is by Zsofia Dankova and features Schenker in a futuristic spaceship, floating high up in orbit. “I had the original idea for the album cover a few years ago,” Schenker says, “but only now does it seem to fit perfectly. So I sent some older sketches to my label Atomic Fire Records, and based on this, the final artwork and album title were created.”

“Basically, I am like a kid in a sandbox,” Schenker told MetalTalk in an interview last year (Part One , Part Two) “just play and discover, having fun. I do not compete, I do not compare, I do not look for money, I do not look for success or fame. Everything that happened to me in my whole 50-year career just happened simply because I wanted to be Michael Schenker. I get my musical inspiration from the infinite spring of creativity, the inner world.”

Dark Web Data Theft Leads To Arrest Of 40 Suspects In Massive Bank Fraud Operation

Authorities have apprehended 40 suspects involved in a large-scale bank fraud operation that relied on personal information stolen from the dark web. The scheme, which targeted unsuspecting victims in the Houston area and beyond, resulted in the theft of between $360,000 and $600,000.

The investigation, dubbed “Operation Cash Back,” revealed that the group behind the fraud was well-organized, with leaders including 23-year-old Gregory Edwards III, 25-year-old Doc Frank, 20-year-old Jayson Gipson, and 21-year-old Lajewel McGilbray. These individuals have been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and money laundering.

Mont Belvieu Police Chief Jimmy Ellison explained that the criminals accessed victims’ bank accounts using stolen data to make unauthorized wire transfers. The group then enlisted friends, family members, and even acquaintances from social media to launder the stolen money through legitimate accounts.

“Once they get the information, they start making wire transfers out of the victim’s bank accounts,” Ellison said. “But, in order for them to be successful, they have to transfer that money into a clean account, and that’s where they began recruiting other people.”

The criminal network extended beyond Texas, with some associates located as far away as Georgia and Illinois. Mont Belvieu police are continuing their investigation to identify additional participants in the scheme.

An online security expert emphasized the importance of protecting personal information by avoiding the reuse of passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and using biometric security options when available. Authorities urge the public to stay vigilant as they work to dismantle the operation and bring all involved to justice.

⁣Two men were rushed to the hospital after a broad daylight shooting and brawl in the street that was captured on nearby surveillance cameras Wednesday afternoon.

The violence occurred just before 3:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Florida Avenue, near South Western Avenue in Hemet, according to video footage of the shooting obtained by KTLA.

Two men are seen in the video walking on the sidewalk on Florida Avenue, in front of Vero’s Taco Shop, when one of them, dressed in a white t-shirt, jeans and a ballcap, raises his arms and yells across the street.

“F–k your hood, homie,” he’s heard yelling, as both men continue down the sidewalk.

Moments later, another man, wearing dark pants and a light-colored hoodie, pulls up alongside the two in the street on a bicycle, his right hand firmly in his pocket. It appears as if words are exchanged and as the man in the white t-shirt charges, the bicyclist pulls a gun out and fires two rounds, dropping the man to the ground.

The man in the dark shorts appears to get the upper hand on the shooter, getting him off the bike and ripping his hoodie off.

In the footage, the shooter is last seen running in the middle of the four-lane roadway toward South Western Avenue.

Asked for comment, officials with the Hemet Police Department told KTLA that they responded to the scene and that details are extremely limited as the incident is under active investigation.

Action Eye News, who captured the video, reported that both the gunshot victims were taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
