A business jet carrying a former White House official this month pitched up and down in midair, causing her death, after pilots turned off a system that stabilizes the plane, the National Transportation Safety Board said in a preliminary report.

The pilots noticed several warnings related to system failures of the aircraft’s flight control as it traveled from Keene, N.H., to Leesburg, Va., on March 3, and they followed steps on a checklist, which advised them to turn off a switch that controls a stabilizer function in the aircraft, according to the report.

When the switch was turned off, it prompted the nose of the plane to swing upward, the report says. The plane then pointed down and jerked upward again in a roller-coaster-like motion before a pilot used both hands to regain control of it, the N.T.S.B. said.
“As soon as the switch position was moved, the airplane abruptly pitched up,” the report says. One of the pilots, in his account to investigators, estimated that the plane had oscillated up and down for a “few seconds.”

Shortly after the scare, the crew members were told by a passenger that the former White House official, Dana Hyde, 55, of Cabin John, Md., had been injured. Ms. Hyde, who was a senior adviser at the State Department under President Barack Obama and served as counsel on the 9/11 Commission, was taken to a hospital after the plane landed.

She died in the hospital from her injuries, the authorities said.

The people onboard the plane, a Bombardier Challenger 300, were subjected to forces about four times the pull of gravity, according to the report.

The authorities initially said that the plane had encountered “severe turbulence.” But the flight crew members told investigators that they “did not experience any remarkable turbulence during the flight,” the report says.

The jet was diverted to Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Conn.

Last year, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a directive to pilots flying the Bombardier Challenger 300 that instructed them to conduct extra safety tests before flights. The directive was prompted by several reports that the horizontal stabilizer caused the noses of planes to tilt down when pilots tried to make the plane climb, according to a rule from the F.A.A. in June last year.

Bombardier said in a statement on Sunday that it was “deeply saddened by this tragic event,” adding, “We extend our sincerest sympathies to all those affected by this accident.”

Bombardier said it was “carefully studying” the preliminary report from the N.T.S.B.

Ms. Hyde’s husband, Jonathan Chambers, said in a statement that they and their younger son had been flying home that day, after visiting schools in New England, when their plane “suddenly convulsed in a manner that violently threw the three of us.”
“Dana was the best person I ever knew,” he said, adding that she “never forgot her small-town eastern Oregonian roots.”

Ms. Hyde was a special assistant to the deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration, according to Columbia University.

She later served as associate director of the Office of Management and Budget during the Obama administration. She also helped establish the African Leadership University and worked at Jerusalem Venture Partners, a venture capital firm. “That’s a real résumé,” her husband said.

Mr. Chambers said his wife was “a wonderful mother to our boys.”

In a eulogy for Ms. Hyde delivered by Mr. Chambers’s older son, he dismissed the idea of living each day as if it were your last.
“I now realize that’s wrong,” the son said, according to Mr. Chambers. “You should live each day as if it’s the last of someone you love.”

HUNTINGTON, NY — An anti-Semitic flyer was found in Huntington earlier in the month, the Town of Huntington announced Friday.

A Huntington resident awoke Tuesday to find a flyer that made them feel targeted because of their religion, a town spokesperson said. The flyer identified members of the Federal Executive Branch who were Jewish by marking them with an Israeli flag, saying "the country is run by Jews," said Huntington Councilman Dave Bennardo.

The poster promoted a webpage belonging to the Goyim Defense League, which has been taken off most social media sites because of "overtly anti-Semitic rhetoric and conspiracy theories, which denied the Holocaust," the town stated. The webpage denied other national and international incidents, including the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Bennardo said.

The person who received the flyer reported the incident to police and contacted her Rabbi, who brought the incident to the Town of Huntington Anti-Bias Task Force. The township said such "literature drops" are a "common tactic of this anti-Semitic group, whose members are often overt in their biased philosophy."

"First of all, while freedom of speech, which I am an ardent supporter of, allows you to say hurtful, even untruthful, downright prejudice things, good people have a responsibility to use their free speech to correct the record and defend those who are being persecuted," Bennardo told Patch. "To me, that takes the community saying 'you can say it, but we think you're wrong. You can say it, but we think you're disgraceful.' And a lot of governments don't think to do that, because they don't like to enmesh themselves in the mix, but we felt there was a moral responsibility."

While the message was anti-Semitic, Bennardo said it could have been against Islam, Christianity, it could've been racial, or anything else.

"Whatever it is, we felt a really strong obligation to say, 'we don't do that here.' There is no place for that here in Huntington. And if you do bring that hatred to Huntington, we'll push back."

Bennardo said he is proud of the town board and anti-bias task force for rallying together despite the differing political views of the people who make up the board and task force.

"There are certain things that transcend political views and are downright hateful," Bennardo said. "Certainly, the Holocaust is one of those. While I am very disheartened that someone would do that, the people in Huntington have to know that we will react and we will have their back."

The town said residents should first call Suffolk police at 631-852-COPS to report hate crimes.

⁣Transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney posted an Instagram video on Saturday claiming that Bud Light has become the latest company to celebrate the star living as "a girl" for a full year by creating a special anniversary beer can.

Mulvaney is a biological man who identifies as a transgender woman.

The influencer became known for the TikTok series "100 Days of Girlhood," where the transgender rights activist detailed the daily life of learning what is like to be a transgender woman. The now-titled "Days of Girlhood" series hit its one-year anniversary in March, and the creator has over 10 million followers on TikTok and 1.7 million followers on Instagram.


Mulvaney is a former Broadway musical theater actor who began transitioning to a woman during the pandemic.

"Impressive carrying skills, right? I got some Bud Lights for us," Mulvaney said at the beginning of the video.

The transgender social media star claimed to have just learned about "this thing called March Madness" and realized "it had something to do with sports."

"I'm not sure exactly what sport, but either way, it's a cause to celebrate," Mulvaney said while drinking a Bud Light can.

"This month I celebrated my '365 Days of Womanhood,' and Bud Light sent me possibly the best gift ever," the social media sensation said.

The TikToker showed an up-close view of the special beer can made in Mulvaney's honor, which features an image of the influencer on top of the Bud Light's name and at the top of the can in gold letters. The can further says, "Cheers to 365 Days of Girlhood."

The social media star told fans to check out Instagram to see how they can enjoy March Madness with Bud Light and win money.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Bud Light for confirmation and comment but did not receive a response.

"Yessss, you got the bud light sponsorship! Look at you making your dreams happen every day! Love this," one Mulvaney fan wrote on Instagram in response.

"Yay!! Bud Light is an ally," another social media user said.

Other social media users scoffed at the alleged partnership with Bud Light.

Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren asked her followers, "So who at @budlight thought this was the move? Do y’all really think a man pretending to be a woman (in the most demeaning manner possible) is how you sell beer?"

During the October 2022 altercation, Ivery said she wanted a portion of her Target purchase to be paid for as reparations. During the incident, a manager is seen on surveillance, which has no audio, punching Ivery once before police arrive.

According to an affidavit, the 37-year-old allegedly caused the manager to fear for his safety. The manager was never charged because police said he was acting in self-defense.

Security footage shows Ivery first arguing with a Target employee near the checkout lanes. The employee continues to back up and attempts to stop Ivery by putting her hands against her shoulders.

The police report details that Ivery "wanted to have a conversation about her bill," which cost more than $1,000. Target employees that spoke with police said Ivery claimed she was owed reparations and she wanted Target to supply those.

The manager is then seen approaching Ivery in the surveillance footage. According to the police report, the manager asked Ivery to "calm down and leave the store," but she started screaming at him. As Ivery continues to walk toward the manager, he is seen backing up toward his office.

The manager said he attempted to close his office door, according to the police report, but Ivery entered. The surveillance footage shows the manager punching her once in the face, with Ivery falling to the ground. He then calls 911.

In a report, police said they found Ivery to be the aggressor in the situation after watching video footage.

Ivery told police she wanted to have a bigger discussion about money and wanted Target to compensate her for the items she attempted to buy but could not afford.

"I was trying to have a hard conversation in a safe place," Ivery said.

In her discussion with an officer, Ivery compared herself to Rosa Parks.

"This is my Rosa Parks moment, dude," Ivery said. "Don't play with me."

When a manager tells Ivery that she is no longer allowed at Target, she becomes visibly upset.

As Ivery explains her frustrations to the officers, she is then told that she is being charged. When she is taken into custody, she claims that the officers are violating her rights as a human being in order to uphold the law.

Ivery was convicted of disorderly conduct but acquitted of menacing. She was sentenced to one day at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

But after the referee finally separated the two, it wasn’t long before the pro mixed martial artist’s skill set got her out of trouble and she started landing some devastating shots to the head.

A well-time right hand dropped Chistyakov and after some viscous ground and pound the bout was eventually waved off by the referee.

While we’re still unsure what promotion the duo were fighting for, it hasn’t stopped MMA fans and experts from wading in.

The SCOTUS as of April 19, 2023 has received, filed and docketed Loy Arlan Brunson's emergency RULE 11 PETITION FOR A WRIT OF CERTIORARI.

What is Rule 11: A petition for a writ of certiorari to review a case pending in a United States court of appeals, before judgment is entered in that court, will be granted only upon a showing that the case is of such Imperative Public Importance as to justify deviation from normal appellate practice and to require immediate determination in this Court.

This new Docketed case #22-1028, allows the US Solicitor General, until the 24th of May, to respond. Once the Solicitor General responds or not, either way, on or before May 24th, the court will be free to set a date for conference.
