Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was fatally shot by a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy in Palmdale after he allegedly crashed a vehicle into two patrol cars while fleeing the scene of an earlier domestic violence incident.

The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. Sunday in the 6900 block of Jack Rabbit Way, near 70th Street East, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

Samuel Nunez, 26, of Lancaster died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner's office reported.

The deputies were following up on a domestic violence incident from earlier in the evening and attempted to make contact with a man seated inside a vehicle, Koerner said.

"The suspect attempted to flee the location and rammed two patrol vehicles several times,'' Koerner said. "After ramming one of the deputy's vehicles, a deputy-involved shooting occurred. ... It was later determined the suspect was not involved in the early domestic violence call.''

Anyone who witnessed the shooting was asked to call the LASD's homicide bureau at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

Palmdale, California — On March 13, 2022 at approximately 6:05 p.m. on the 6900 block of Jack Rabbit Way, Palmdale, detectives learned that deputies assigned to Palmdale station were conducting a follow-up on a domestic violence call from earlier in the evening. While at the location, deputies attempted to contact a male Hispanic adult seated inside a vehicle. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Samuel Nunez attempted to flee the location and rammed two patrol vehicles several times. After ramming one of the deputy’s vehicles, a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The deputies immediately began to render aid to Nunez. LA County Fire Department paramedics arrived and continued to render aid, but ultimately, Nunez was pronounced deceased at the scene. Nunez was driving a stolen vehicle, additionally a loaded polymer .80 ghost-gun, 9mm semi-automatic handgun was recovered inside the vehicle.

White man stabbed to death at Starbucks by a 'person of colour'.

Inderdeep Singh Gosal, charged with second-degree murder after fatal Starbucks stabbing. The man murdered was Paul Stanley Schmidt, whose wife and young daughter were reportedly at the scene.

"Senseless" is the word that comes to mind when Kathy Schmidt describes the stabbing death of her son.

Paul Schmidt, 37, was killed near a Vancouver coffee shop Sunday evening with his wife and toddler daughter close by.

It happened outside a Starbucks at the corner of Granville and Pender streets just after 5:30 p.m., following a "brief altercation," police said.

Inderdeep Singh Gosal, 32, has been charged with second-degree murder.

"Investigators do not believe the victim and suspect knew each other," read a police statement.

Kathy says what's needed now is justice for her son.

"Just one word. Senseless," Kathy said on the phone from Kelowna, where she lives and Paul grew up.

"Senseless that an altercation ended up in a murder. Ended up with my son losing his life."

Police say they are investigating the killing, including what led up to it, as Paul's loved ones grieve a man who they say lived for his family.

Fight turns fatal
Kathy received news of her son's death Monday morning.

She said the fatal encounter took place when Paul was picking up his wife from work with their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter in tow.

Kathy said Paul's wife went into the coffee shop to buy drinks. He stayed outside holding their daughter.

"I'm still not sure what happened, but when his wife came out, the person was in Paul's face," Kathy said. "The guy said to [Paul's wife], 'you better grab your kid.'"

Kathy said Paul gave the little girl to her mother. The two men started to fight.

"Which is so uncharacteristic of Paul. I've never seen him fight, ever," Kathy said.

Kathy said Paul was then stabbed. His wife saw the whole thing.

"[She] is absolutely, of course, devastated," Kathy said, adding Paul's wife and daughter were not physically hurt.

Police said members of the public flagged down a police officer on patrol after the stabbing, who arrested the suspect at the scene.

"We saw the guy get lifted onto the ambulance ... The scene around, there had to be at least 15, 20 cop cars. Everyone was just kind of in shock," said Mark Buckingham, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident after his bus was stopped near the scene.

"For it to happen at that location in broad daylight ... was just very weird," he added.

Investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses who saw the aftermath of the stabbing or anyone who might have cellphone video.

For decades, Dylan Farrow has alleged that her father Woody Allen sexually assaulted her in the attic of her mother Mia Farrow’s Connecticut home on August 4, 1992. Nearly 30 years after the initial accusations, footage of a 7-year-old Dylan recounting the assault the day after it allegedly took place has been released for the first time as part of HBO's new documentary series Allen v. Farrow, which premiered February 21.

The Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering-directed series digs into one of the film industry's most infamous cases. The four-part docuseries is a comprehensive look at the relationship between Mia Farrow and Woody Allen and its dissolution that began in January of 1992 when Farrow discovered nude photographs of her 21-year-old daughter Soon-Yi Previn in Allen’s apartment. Later that year, Mia Farrow and Allen’s 7-year-old daughter Dylan accused Allen of sexual assault. Woody Allen has always denied the allegations, arguing that Dylan was brainwashed by Mia, who was scorned when she learned of his affair with her eldest daughter Previn.

On August 5, 1992, family friend Casey Pascal’s babysitter, who was at Farrow’s home at the time of the alleged assault, told Pascal that she witnessed what she deemed an inappropriately intimate physical interaction between Woody Allen and Dylan in the living room. According to the documentary, Mia asked Dylan about what had occurred the previous day, and Dylan recounted her assault while Mia recorded her. The video footage of this is seen by the public for the first time in Allen v. Farrow. On CBS This Morning in 2018, Dylan explained: “I was taken to a small attic crawl space in my mother’s country house in Connecticut by my father. He instructed me to lay down on my stomach and play with my brother’s toy train that was set up. And he sat behind me in the doorway, and as I played with the toy train, I was sexually assaulted.”

High heel boy refers to a mixture of heroin and coke, commonly called a speedball.
The 'low spark' is a description of the physical feeling brought on by injecting the speedball.
