Nashville-based drag queen Veronika Electronika said she was tricked into participating in the right-wing, anti-transgender documentary The War on Children, and that her interview was heavily edited to change what she said.
In a recent article, Rolling Stone detailed the “deceptive tactics” allegedly used by filmmakers Robby and Landon Starbuck, whose film purports to explore the so-called sexualizing and grooming of children. The official description of the film on its website says that it features “whistleblowers, leftists caught on camera, survivors of child mutilation, trafficking victims, corporate executives exposing the plan to sexualize children, the creator of Libs of TikTok, Senator Rand Paul, Riley Gaines, Drag Performer, Pornhub’s Sex Ed Instructor, and many more.”
But according to Rolling Stone’s reporting, LGBTQ+ people and allies were approached under false pretenses. Emails obtained by the magazine show that Starbuck’s staff approached potential subjects about being interviewed for a movie with working titles like Identity Rising and It Takes a Village. Per Rolling Stone, Elektronika and others were told that the documentary would focus on the struggles of trans children, and how queer and trans people’s lives and mental health have been affected by the recent onslaught of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.
Some emails obtained by the magazine also claimed that the documentary would be directed by “award-winning” cinematographer Matt Rodgers, with no mention of Starbuck’s involvement, and that it would be distributed by a “household name” streaming service. When participants pressed for further information on the documentary, staffers claimed that they were under non-disclosure agreements, according to the emails. Almost all of the details that were shared, according to Rolling Stone,were “misleading or outright false.” Robby Starbuck is credited as the director and producer, and the film is only available on X and the right-wing video services Rumble and My Movies Plus.
Elektronika told Rolling Stone that last June, she arrived at a studio space to participate in what she was told would be an interview "on her views regarding the struggles faced by children in the trans community, and how the lives and mental health of LGBTQ+ people were being affected by the recent slew of bans and restrictions” on gender-affirming care and drag. She asked the interviewers what their last names were, and when they answered the latter with “Starbuck,” she attempted to exit the conversation.
“When I saw Mr. Starbuck walk through the hallway, I was like, ‘Wait a minute. I know this fucker,” Electronika told Rolling Stone. She added that the couple “tried to convince me to stay and I said, ‘You need to stop recording right now.’ The little red light kept going ... and then they wouldn’t stop. So I started recording myself.”
The incident is featured in the documentary, with the Starbucks asking her to “denounce behavior that is sexually explicit around children.” Elektronika provided her own recording to Rolling Stone, and the magazine wrote that her recording “makes clear that her conversation with the filmmakers was heavily edited to make it seem like she was completely unwilling to condemn the exposure of children to sexual material.” According to Rolling Stone, some of Elektronika’s answers were “used piecemeal,” and some were entirely left out of the final cut.
Sprinkled in among the thousands of glowing reviews are a few negative ones: “Watching this made me feel like a bad person."
“Obviously, parents can dictate what materials their children are exposed to,” Electronika told Rolling Stone. “There are no drag shows, or drag story hours, or LGBT events that are happening where children are showing up unaccompanied by a guardian or an adult. ... When we do have a drag event that is happening, where minors may be present, it would be a rare occurrence for anything sexually explicit to be occurring on stage.”
As Rolling Stone notes, these manipulative interview tactics are commonplace within right-wing media. The magazine also wrote that right-wing influencers are increasingly using the documentary format to “bypass social media and platform guidelines prohibiting hate speech

Conservative commentator Candace Owens is openly feuding with a famous American rabbi after calling him “filth” for promoting his daughter’s line of adult products.
Owens, who claims to have been harassed by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and his daughter Chana Boteach for the past two years, responded to a post on Monday in which a user criticized the religious figure for advertising everything from lubrication to vibrators sold by his daughter.
“The unholy Rabbi Shmuley is now promoting a website that sells vibrators and butt plugs on behalf of his daughter,” Owens tweeted. “He thinks he’s somehow insulting me by doing this. FILTH.”
The rabbi shot back by accusing Owens of antisemitism, claiming that her disapproval of the sex toys had more to do with Israel than anything else.
“ANTI-SEMITE @RealCandaceO Atacked my daughters Kosher Sex Product Calling it ‘Filth,'” Shmuley said on X. “Did she say this because it happened to be made in Israel?”
Shmuley also used the opportunity to plug a discount code bearing Owens’ name that would allow customers to receive a discount from his daughter’s online store.
“Go to kosher.sex to get 10% off using the code ‘CandaceO,'” he added.
As noted by The Times of Israel, Chana opened a kosher sex shop in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2019.
Shmuley’s issues with Owens stem largely from her support for rapper Kanye West, who in recent years made numerous antisemitic remarks. She also feuded with Ben Shapiro over his enthusiastic support for Israel in the wake of the Oct. 7 attack.
Owens, on the other hand, described Shmuley as a “monster who has waged horrific campaigns against black and brown people in an effort to control our voices and destroy our relationships with one another.”
Shmuley insinuated over the weekend that he might bring a libel suit against Owens after the conservative “essentially said” that he “killed Michael Jackson … and that Jews run pedophile sex rings in Hollywood in order to blackmail African-American entertainers.”
In a March 7 episode of her show, Owens’ discussed Shumely and Jackson. Shmuley is intertwined in the death of Jackson, publishing a set of tapes months after he passed that sparked controversy.
Such a suit could also target Shapiro, who runs the media outlet the Daily Wire where Owens works.
“There can be no question that Candace’s serious defamation against me and the Jewish community must be met with a comprehensive lawsuit that will bankrupt her as well as Ben Shapiro,” Shmuley said.
The back-and-forth caught the attention of white nationalists such as Nick Fuentes, whose supporters have flooded X with remarks disparaging Shmuley and Jewish people altogether.
Whether Shmuley follows through with a lawsuit remains to be seen. Either way, it doesn’t appear that either Owens or Shmuley are backing down anytime soon.

Jessica “Jonathan” Yaniv, who infamously brought human rights complaints against multiple British Columbia estheticians for declining to perform services on her male genitals has lost her cases.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms today issued a news release declaring victory on behalf of their clients, as an early ruling in favour of the mostly home-based salon workers was announced just one day after the Canadian federal elections.

According to the news release, The decision noted, “human rights legislation does not require a service provider to wax a type of genitals they are not trained for and have not consented to wax.” The decision further found that Yaniv “engaged in improper conduct,” “filed complaints for improper purposes,” and concluded Yaniv’s testimony was “disingenuous and self-serving.” Finally, noted the Tribunal, Yaniv was “evasive and argumentative and contradicted herself” while giving evidence.

The JCCF represented five of more than 10 aesthetician workers Yaniv brought complaints against, many of whom were immigrants or from visible minority or highly religious communities. This, along with Yaniv’s history of racially charged remarks, led many to speculate that the complaints were racist or xenophobic in nature.

Most significantly, the Tribunal ordered costs of $2,000 payable each to three of the five women represented by the Justice Centre, including one woman, Mrs. Hehar Gill, who had been forced to close her business due to Yaniv’s vexatious litigation. According to the JCCF’s news release, Mrs. Gill, a practicing Sikh, explained to Yaniv that she was only able to provide services to female clients due to her religion.

Shortly after a disabled protected vunerable father reported child abuse at the Winston Family YMCA his six months of membership money from US TAXPAYER FUNDED DISABILITY and hundreds of dollars of property was stolen through organized theft by deception.

A ban of ostracism is imposed upon a person - either man or woman - for [the following] 24 reasons:
a) a person who disgraces a sage, even after his passing;
b) a person who embarrasses a messenger of a court;
c) a person who calls a colleague a slave;
d) a person who was ordered [to appear before] a court at a specific time and did not come;
e) a person who treats even one point of Rabbinic law with disrespect; needless to say, this applies regarding [matters of] Torah law;
f) a person who refuses to comply with the decisions [rendered by a court] is placed under ban until he complies;
g) a person who possesses an entity that can cause damage - e.g., a dangerous dog or a faulty ladder - is placed under ban until he removes that entity;
h) a person who sells land to a gentile is placed under ban until he accepts responsibility for any damages which the gentile may cause his Jewish neighbor;
i) a person who testifies against a Jewish colleague in a secular court and causes money which Torah law would not [require him to pay] to be expropriated from him is placed under ban until he repays [that amount];
j) a butcher who is a priest and does not separate the priestly gifts and give them to another priest is placed under ban until he gives them;
k) a person who violates the sanctity of the second day of the festivals in the Diaspora, even though [their observance] is only a custom;
l) a person who performs work on Pesach eve after noon;
m) a person who takes God's name in vain or takes an oath casually;
n) a person who causes the many to desecrate God's name;
o) a person who causes the many to eat sacrificial food outside [its proper place];
p) a person who calculates the years [and declares a leap year] or fixes the day of the new month in the Diaspora;
q) a person who causes the blind [ - i.e., the morally unaware - ] to stumble;
r) a person who prevents the many from performing a mitzvah;
s) a butcher who sold non-kosher meat;
t) a butcher who does not inspect his knife in the presence of a sage;
u) a person who intentionally causes himself to have an erection;
v) a person who divorced his wife, and then entered into a partnership or business dealing with her which requires them to come into contact. When they come to court, they are placed under ban;
w) a sage whose reputation is unsavory;
x) a person who places a person under ban when the latter does not deserve [such punishment];

An expression of loyalty to the US, the pledge is a result of a late 19th century push by Bellamy to inspire nationalism in the nation’s schools. It’s commonly recited at the beginning of the school day, with 45 out of 50 states explicitly giving extra time for it (although the decision of whether to recite it is still at the discretion of the local school board).

While schools may say it generally, no individual student is required to recite the pledge. The Supreme Court has repeatedly upheld the constitutional right of students to refuse to say the pledge.

It was adopted as an official part of the US Flag Code in the 40s, and all Congressional sessions now open with the recital of the Pledge.

The Pledge was originally published in The Youth’s Companion on September 8, 1892 and read:

I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The official name “The Pledge of Allegiance” was adopted in 1945.

Although it takes a few moments to say, and it’s read with many pauses, note that the entire pledge is a single sentence long.
