Anti-Retaliation
The Dodd-Frank Act prohibits retaliation by employers against whistleblowers. Employers may not take any action to impede would-be whistleblowers from communicating directly with the Commission's staff about possible violations of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA), including by enforcing, or threatening to enforce, a confidentiality agreement or predispute arbitration agreement with respect to such communications. If you are a whistleblower and believe that your employer has wrongfully retaliated against you, you may bring a private action in federal court against your employer within two years of the employer's retaliatory act. If you prevail, you may be entitled to reinstatement, back pay, litigation costs, expert witness fees, and attorney's fees. The CFTC also has authority under the CEA to bring an enforcement action against your employer for any retaliatory acts, which include any steps taken to impede a whistleblower from communicating directly with the Commission's staff about possible violations of the CEA.

5 Ways to Get Teenagers Practicing Yoga

These suggestions come from my experience teaching yoga to teens in schools. The ideas can also be applied to yoga studio or community center settings, as well as other subjects. A funny thing about many teenagers is that they yearn so deeply to be in charge, yet they often rebel against the responsibilities they do have. At the end of the day, teens really want to feel the security of being well cared for.

1. Know When to Treat Teens like Adults
At the beginning of a school semester in yoga class, I like to give my teen students lots of important responsibilities; including taking roll call, setting up the room for yoga and holding each other accountable for appropriate behavior. I've learned the hard way that if I start a new class session "managing" every little thing, I will likely have to continue throughout the school year. If I hand over tasks, like opening windows for fresh air and stacking yoga mats neatly, I not only have more time to interact one on one with students, my students feel a sense of empowerment.
When a teen student comes to me with problem, I usually respond, "What do you think we should do about that?"
Giving responsibility early on is key because teens usually bring their most helpful behavior to class in the beginning. The first few days of school are generally the quietest, and then...

2. Know When to Treat Teens like Pre-schoolers
A few weeks into a semester, things change. Teens are more comfortable in the environment. They know what to expect. They start pushing boundaries to see how far they can go. Yes, if we let them, they will sit and talk to each other for the entire class period! One day in class many years ago, I felt as though my wonderfully responsible, mature teen class had been replaced by a bunch of pre-schoolers in giant bodies. Mind you, I LOVE pre-schoolers.

Former President Donald Trump's private jet, a 1990s-era Boeing 757-200 known as "Trump Force One," was forced to make an emergency landing this Friday in Billings, Montana, due to a hydraulic failure.

The aircraft, which was carrying the former President of the United States, managed to land safely at a small local airstrip. Plans are in place to transport the jet to Bozeman Airport for a full inspection.

Trump's campaign team posted a video of him upon landing, in which he expressed his pleasure at being in Montana but made no mention of the emergency landing. The U.S. Secret Service will conduct a security review at the airport before allowing the aircraft to be moved.

Trump was scheduled to arrive in Bozeman to deliver a rally at a closed pavilion at Montana State University at 8 p.m. local time, just five hours after the incident.

This incident comes barely a month after the attempted attack on Trump on July 13, which has raised some concerns. However, this time it is a technical issue involving an aircraft that has been in service for several decades.

This is not the first time Trump has faced problems aboard his plane. In 2022, the aircraft had to return to New Orleans airport just 30 minutes after takeoff due to an engine failure.

The "Trump Force One," which originally entered service in 1991, was acquired by Trump in 2010. During his presidency, the plane remained inactive as Trump used Air Force One.

Tomorrow, 20 years will have passed since the death of U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone, his wife Sheila, their daughter Marcia and four others in a plane crash near Eveleth, Minnesota. Today, a memorial stands on that road where I used to ride my bike. Meanwhile, as before, an important election approaches.

On Oct. 24, 2002, another midterm election accelerated toward its consequential finish. Wellstone, a Northfield Democrat in his second term, faced Republican challenger Norm Coleman of St. Paul, in a race that ranked high on national campaign watchlists.

Coleman had pulled ahead in the polls earlier in the campaign, but one recent poll showed Wellstone back on top. This was big news because Wellstone had just voted against authorizing the war in Iraq, the only senator facing a competitive race to do so.

As the candidates raced across the state during the final two weeks, Wellstone decided to divert his plane north to catch the funeral of the father of Iron Range lawmaker Tom Rukavina, a longtime ally. That plane wouldn’t make it to the small airport across the road from my grandparent’s house.

I watched the news splay across the TV screen between a split shift at the small daily newspaper I edited in 2002. I remembered how I met Wellstone that one summer in 1996, how he seemed excited that I would study journalism. Six years later I was right where I wanted to be. Or so I thought. Just like Sept. 11 of the previous year, I would have to tear down a front page for something horrible.

The death of the Wellstones and the others on that plane were sad for personal reasons. But, in retrospect, what followed was more instructive about the direction our politics would take. One of the speakers at Wellstone’s funeral made a partisan speech. I watched it on television and thought it was out of place. But what followed shocked me.

This video shows a POV taken on Monday morning July 11, 2011 by Gregory Hillman for B2Review. It starts in the Balboa Sports Complex and travels to the Woodley Dam along the "Municipal Golf Course" which is open to the public and welcomes visitors for driving, a well taken care of course as well as food services with a bar.
