Tucker Carlson blames Biden & minorities for aviation incidents

Tucker Carlson went on a nearly four minute rant last night. Let me summarize what he said, so you don’t actually have to watch it:

Aviation used to be safe until Biden became president, because “Biden imposed the principles of equity on the airlines, and that meant dramatically lowering hiring standards for pilots and for air traffic controllers”

Last week there was a go-around at Houston’s Airport that “terrified” passengers, yet the media isn’t talking about it (lol)

Carlson wants to know what’s going on, so he reached out to an unnamed United Airlines pilot, who claims that “under its woke CEO Scott Kirby, the airline has allowed politics and racialist ideologies to trump safety concerns,” putting the lives of passengers in grave danger

Carlson then quotes the same unnamed pilot who says he heard from another unnamed pilot that “the captain of the Maui flight was brand new,” and “there was a new-hire first officer,” and talks about how in the training simulators, a new pilot tried to make 25 landings, and “15 ended up in the dirt”

Southwest has also dramatically lowered its hiring standards, and people in Southwest’s academy largely end up flying for charter airline Swift Air, to “fly illegal aliens around the country without the American population knowing about it”

Carlson concludes that “this is what it looks like in real terms when you decide that identity is more important than aptitude in something critical like aviation”

Bottom line: Tucker Carlson is trying to insinuate that we’re seeing a series of aviation incidents because of President Biden’s “woke” policies.

Regardless of where you stand politically, this is patently false.

Yes, there’s reason to be concerned by the alarming number of near miss aviation incidents we’ve seen recently. These incidents are on some level happening because of the industry currently being less experienced than in the past.

However, that’s not because of any “woke” hiring practices, but rather because we have a pilot shortage. That pilot shortage is happening because of how many pilots took...[VfB sez 💉]

The suspect accused of shooting and wounding two staff members at East High School Wednesday morning has been found dead in Park County, 9NEWS has learned.

Wednesday afternoon, law enforcement found a red Volvo associated with 17-year-old Austin Lyle on County Road 68, also known as Wellington Lake Road, outside of Bailey, the Park County Sheriff's Office said. Denver police said just before 6 p.m. that efforts to locate the suspect were ongoing.

Park County Sheriff Tom McGraw said Wednesday night that around 8:15 p.m., a person's body was found in the woods about two-tenths of a mile from the car. McGraw said the person's body has not been identified.

A law enforcement source told 9NEWS the body was that of Lyle, and that he died of an apparent suicide.

Park County had issued an emergency alert for the town of Bailey and the surrounding area due to the investigation. Residents were asked to shelter in place and call 911 if they see anything unusual.

McGraw said that shelter-in-place alert has been lifted.

A few train cars have derailed into the Mississippi River in Wisconsin, according to authorities. There appear to be no fatalities, but the extent of injuries are unknown.

Four BNSF railroad crew members were transported to a nearby hospital for medical examinations after a southbound freight train derailed in southwestern Wisconsin, sending some rail cars into the Mississippi River.

Residents of De Soto said it was the "loudest shriek they ever heard" when a BNSF Railway freight train derailed shortly after noon Thursday between De Soto and Ferryville in Crawford County.

The cause of the derailment is still unknown. Two locomotives and an unknown number of cars derailed on the eastern side of the river, a BNSF spokesperson said in a statement.

Crawford County Emergency Management Director Jim Hackett said the derailment poses no immediate threat to public safety.

Hackett said the derailed train cars contained paint, oxygen and lithium batteries.

"At this time, we're not concerned about any hazard to the public, the batteries have not gone into the water," he said.

A Vernon County hazmat team is on site in the event of a hazardous waste situation. If lithium is exposed to water, a rupture or explosion can occur.

Two of the freight train's three locomotives derailed and a diesel fuel leak from one of the locomotives has been "fairly contained" to the river bay, said Brandon Larson, director of Vernon County Emergency Management and Hazmat.

Larson's team has deployed absorbent booms to soak up the spillage.

Two cars holding painted floated south down the river. Hackett said boat crews were able to secure the rouge cars to the bank.

Nearly 30 state, local and public agencies responded to the incident. Hackett said the community response — many volunteer firefighters — was "quick" and "amazing."

First responders are expected to work through the night at the site. Officials said they do not know how long the clean up process will take.

BNSF is working to build "access ways" of rock and sand from Highway 35 to the railroad that runs parallel to the highway. Due to the waterway in between the railroad and the highway, a platform must be constructed so crews can access and remove the cars.

Private truck drivers contracting with BNSF have been hauling sand and rock from a quarry in Genoa to the accident location.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation, said BNSF spokesperson Lena Kent said. She did not immediately respond to a follow-up email inquiring about whether whether the derailment had caused any environmental contamination.

The Federal Railroad Administration, a division of the U.S. Department of Transportation that regulates safety across the nation's railroads, said it was sending a team to the site to gather information and help local emergency workers.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Katie Grant did not immediately respond to an email asking if the derailment has resulted in any environmental contamination.

U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, who sits on the House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, said in a statement he was working with BNSF, the Federal Emergency Management Association, Wisconsin Emergency Management, the state and national Departments of Transportation and Crawford County officials to find out what occurred.

“My staff is traveling to the site, and Congressman Troy Nehls, who Chairs the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Rail, has also made staff available to assist our team," Van Orden said. "We will continue to monitor the situation and determine next steps.”

Eileen Brown, who works at the Great River Roadhouse in De Soto, near where the derailment occurred, said, “We have flooding right now and it’s causing business to be a little slow so I’m kind of worried about what’s going on down there.”

That "being" knows what it is. I watched multiple videos of what happened. There was one man who did a video and was on the flight when it all happened. He said she was sitting next to a man and having a full on conversation. But it didn't register to him at the time that the guy never said a word to her. He stayed gazing at her though and she was talking. She spazzed and got up from the seat visibly disturbed making her way to the front of the plane. He looked back at the guy and he winked at him. But it wasn't a normal wink like a human with your eyelids shutting up and down. It was a wink with his eyelids shutting and opening from side to side like a reptilian. It caught him of guard and when the guy did get up to exit with everyone else he never said a word or acted phased by what had happened. I believe that woman and she wasn't drunk like they tried to say nor accusing him of stealing her air pods at that time. Her speech wasn't slurred, she wasn't stumbling or anything. If anything what she saw sobered her up quickly out of absolute fear.

Judicial Watch has sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to uncover details about Bill Clinton’s trips on the “Lolita Express” to “Orgy Island.” The watchdog group said Tuesday they filed the lawsuit to obtain records of all Secret Service expenses incurred to provide “security and or/other services” to the former president during his trips to the private Caribbean island retreat owned by convicted sex offender and Clinton friend, Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein’s private Caribbean Island of Little Saint James was first exposed as “Orgy Island” in December 2014, when Virginia Roberts – who is now a married, 31-year-old mother of three – filed an affidavit in a Florida federal court alleging that when she was just 15 years-old she was procured as sexual entertainment by liberal socialite Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein and his friends.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said DHS failed to comply with a January 15, 2015, FOIA request, which named “any and all records reflecting expenses incurred to provide security and/or other services to former President Bill Clinton and any companions for trips to the Caribbean island owned by Jeffrey Epstein known as Little St. James from 2001 to the present date.”

According to a flight manifest (logbook) — viewable below — Clinton flew aboard Epstein’s private Boeing 727, dubbed the “Lolita Express,” on more than a dozen trips to “Orgy Island.” Clinton, on at least one occasion was accompanied by “4 secret service” agents and Maxwell, the very woman prosecutors claim procured underage girls to sexually service Epstein and his friends.

“If there is nothing to hide in the Epstein scandal, then why is the Obama administration breaking federal transparency law rather than giving us information about his travels?” Fitton said. “That we’ve now had to go to federal court to try to get this Secret Service information speaks volumes.”

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 and served just 13 months after Mrs. Roberts alleged he enjoyed the company of multiple teenage sex slaves. Roberts also put the former president at the scene, but only Epstein ended up a registered “Tier 1” sex offender.

Via the The New York Post:

“I remember asking Jeffrey, ‘What’s Bill Clinton doing here?’” Roberts said in 2011. “The former president, she added, was accompanied by four young girls during his stay — two of whom were among Epstein’s regular sex partners. And [Jeffrey] laughed it off and said, ‘Well, he owes me a favor.’ He never told me what favors they were.”

Flight logs from the “Lolita Express” during Clinton’s week-long anti-poverty and anti-AIDS tour, also listed the name Chauntae Davies for a period of five days. Davies, who appeared in Epstein’s address book under an entry for “massages,” is a soft-core pornography movie actress.

“Beginning with his misuse of state troopers when he was an Arkansas governor,” Fitton added, “Bill Clinton has a long record of abusing his taxpayer-funded security details to facilitate and cover-up his illicit sexual activities.”

Requests for comment put into both DHS and the Clinton campaign were not immediately returned. In the past, the Clintons have dismissed the questions surrounding Epstein, stressing that Bill severed ties with Epstein following his arrest in 2005. However, they have yet to provide an explanation for the flight logs.

The Justice Department says they believe that Epstein had upwards of 40 victims, in total.

CIA Director John Brennan recently spoke at a Council on Foreign Relations event. His remarks covered a broad range of near and long term national security risks, including the benefits and costs of geoengineering for combating climate change (transcript and video below). It is not surprising that geoengineering solutions to climate change (which can be conducted unilaterally by states and non-state actors with international consequences), are an area of interest for the CIA director. As Brennan points out, there is a lack of “global norms and standards” for addressing the geopolitical implications of developing this technology, and that’s not a tenable situation. It’s a topic many shy away from, but ignoring it won’t make it go away.

And as CIA officers and their intelligence community colleagues work hard to protect our country from the darker side of technological change, we are mindful of how even beneficial advances can have destabilizing effects in the long run…

Another example is the array of technologies, often referred to collectively as geoengineering, that potentially could help reverse the warming effects of global climate change. One that has gained my personal attention is stratospheric aerosol injection, or SAI: a method of seeding the stratosphere with particles that can help reflect the sun’s heat in much the same way that volcanic eruptions do. An SAI program could limit global temperature increases, reducing some risks associated with higher temperatures, and providing the world economy additional time to transition from fossil fuels. This process is also relatively inexpensive. The National Research Council estimates that a fully deployed SAI program would cost about $10 billion yearly.

As promising as it may be, moving forward on SAI would also raise a number of challenges for our government and for the international community. On the technical side, greenhouse gas emission reductions would still have to accompany SAI to address other climate change effects, such as ocean acidification, because SAI alone would not remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. On the geopolitical side, the technology’s potential to alter weather patterns and benefit certain regions of the world at the expense of other regions could trigger sharp opposition by some nations. Others might seize on SAI’s benefits and back away from their commitment to carbon dioxide reductions. And as with other breakthrough technologies, global norms and standards are lacking to guide the deployment and implementation of SAI and other geoengineering initiatives.
