If you had never heard of Candace Owens until recently, you aren’t alone. Less than a decade ago, she was an unknown college dropout working as a marketing professional in New York, writing pieces for her company’s website about the “bat-s—t crazy antics of the Republican Tea Party.” Then, suddenly, she claimed to have experienced a political conversion. She told the libertarian political commentator Dave Rubin in 2017, “I became a conservative overnight. . . . I realized that liberals were actually the racists. Liberals were actually the trolls.”

At the time, Owens, who is African American, had been gaining followers as a YouTuber under the name of RedPillBlack, posting provocative videos with titles such as “I Don’t Care About Charlottesville, the KKK, or White Supremacy.” Such pseudo-transgressive hot takes garnered praise from far-right figures like Alex Jones, of InfoWars. She parlayed that popularity into a stint with Turning Point USA, the grassroots group, during which she toured college campuses with TPUSA chief Charlie Kirk, admonishing students to stop acting like victims and embrace Donald Trump. The Daily Wire hired her in 2020 to host her own show, Candace, on its platform.

Owens was precisely the kind of person the conservative movement—and conservative new media in particular—thought it needed to cultivate. Young, hip, black, and adept at working across many new media platforms, Owens appeared to be the perfect conservative controversialist.

Except, as Owens’s audience has grown, so has her comfort level with airing not only her reactionary takes on Democrats, obese celebrities, and George Floyd, but also her raging, out-and-out anti-Semitism.

In a recent episode of her show, for example, she tried to downplay Kanye West’s appallingly anti-Semitic remarks from a few years ago (West announced he was “going death con 3 on Jewish people”). Owens had defended West at the time, tweeting, “If you are an honest person, you did not find this tweet antisemitic”. And she continues to claim his remarks were justifiable because West believed that a cabal of Jews in Hollywood was out to get him. Owens’s remarks are worth quoting at length:

In all communities there are gangs. In the black community we’ve got the Bloods, we’ve got the Crips. Well, imagine if the Bloods and the Crips were doing horrific things, murdering people, controlling people with blackmail, and then every time a person spoke out about it, the Bloods and the Crips would call those people racist, would get the media to say those people were racist. . . . What if that is what is happening right now in Hollywood if there is just a very small ring of specific people who are using the fact that they are Jewish to shield themselves from any criticism. It’s food for thought, right? . . . There are enough people that are speaking out about a ring in Hollywood, also a ring potentially in D.C., that we should start to ask those questions. . . . All Americans should want answers because this appears to be something that is quite sinister.

What is sinister is Owens’s “just asking questions” approach as a means of encouraging anti-Semitism, a posture she’s doubled down on since the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7. She has emerged as a loud and ill-informed critic of the State of Israel, one whose views would be far more at home on the progressive left than among most Republicans and conservatives, who support Israel.

On X, Owens wrote of Israel, “No government anywhere has a right to commit a genocide, ever. There is no justification for a genocide.” She also called the Muslim Quarter in Jerusalem a “ghetto” and remarked, “If you think it’s antisemitism to notice that innocent Christians were killed in an IDF bombing, then you need to log off.”

Owens is the one who needs to spend more time offline. A typical tweet, (from October 24, 2023) about the state of Florida removing Students for Justice in Palestine groups from two Florida college campuses after they violated the state’s anti-Semitism laws, featured Owens proclaiming: “I’ll ask the obvious question here. Do people believe that in the future moves like this will increase or decrease feelings of anti-semitism? Do you think these students are going to shut down and think ‘well—guess we have to support Israel now’? This is a serious question.”
This is not a serious question, but it is representative of her approach. First, she prefaces any statement about the Jews or anti-Semitism by noting that she’s just stating the “obvious question.” Then, while pretending to show concern for anti-Semitism, she dishonestly reframes the question and implies that it is Jews who are responsible for anti-Semitism.
Her disingenuousness was on frank display during a feud she had with Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro, an outspoken supporter of Israel and an observant Jew. When he correctly described Owens’s behavior as “disgraceful,” she took the feud public on social media, posting Bible verses, including Matthew 5:9, which states, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Shapiro responded, “Candace, if you feel that taking money from The Daily Wire somehow comes between you and God, by all means quit.”

Owens misrepresented Shapiro’s response while simultaneously casting herself as a Christian martyr: “You are utterly out of line for suggesting that I cannot quote biblical scripture. The Bible is not about you. Christ is king.” For this, she received praise from Tucker Carlson, who compared her to Galileo.

She is in fact more akin to a flat-earther. Owens frequently makes claims that have no basis in evidence in a bid to gain attention and cultivate followers. Just before Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky visited the United States in December 2022, for example, Owens falsely claimed that his wife was spending American money on French fashion, posting on X, “We want nothing to do with you. Stop stealing from our people while your wife drops tens of thousands of dollars shopping in Paris. Despicable.” In an interview with NBC News, Owens criticized people who “mindlessly vote,” yet she had to admit that she herself had not bothered to vote in the previous two presidential elections.

When she is criticized for saying something irresponsible, or factually incorrect, or anti-Semitic, Owens immediately plays the victim and claims persecution as a Christian or an African American. When Dennis Prager (for whom Owens once briefly worked) gently chastised her for defending West’s anti-Semitic statements, Owens used her podcast as a venue to attack Prager, who is Jewish. As she told the New Yorker, she called and yelled at him, saying, “I’m not playing this game with the Jewish community again.” Game?

Owens has not been libeled or smeared; she’s been properly criticized for spreading hateful views. And she’s hardly a victim. She has 4 million followers on Instagram, 4.8 million on X, and many, many viewers for her Daily Wire show.

The Trump era has created a conundrum on the right. While support for Israel and a general philo-Semitism remain enduring features of the right in the U.S., some of the loudest voices in right-leaning new media now oppose Israel and are leaning into outright anti-Semitism. They take the understandable belief that mainstream culture and media are hostile to Christianity and traditional conservative values and twist it into a new iteration of classic Christian anti-Semitism—all while claiming to be among the victimized.

This persecution complex can be applied to a range of issues, and it flatters Owens’s own sense of importance in the culture. As Owens recently posted on X, “Something is going on with Justin Bieber and it has everything to do with him being a Christian in demonic Hollywood. If you aren’t paying attention yet—the media has recently launched a full scale attack on Christianity. And therefore me.” This brings attention not to the travails of Justin Bieber or to Christians but to Owens’s favorite subject: herself.

It’s a clever posture. Criticize her or fire her, and you’re persecuting all Christians; by expressing outrage at her anti-Semitism, you’re ensuring the further abuse of Christians like her who are “just asking questions.” Her self-described brand is that she is “the most controversial black woman in America.” The reality? Her toxic mix of combative and ignorant extremism should have no place in the conservative movement.

A compilation of TikTok videos featuring several Israelis, including minors, engaging in a trend of ridiculing the plight of the Palestinians has caused a significant stir among the online community
The issue came to light after it was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by the user, @CensoredMen, on 26 October.
In the video, the participants, identified as Zionist TikTokers by New Straits Times, can be seen wearing headscarves to imitate Palestinians as they engage in satirical dances to ridicule the community.
Some of them can be seen playfully turning their electricity on and off, seemingly to poke fun at the Palestinians who are currently suffering from power cuts, while others painted their front teeth in black, making fun of their physical features.
These malicious actions were not just portrayed by the adults, but also toddlers, who were seen donning costumes and deriding Palestinians in the videos.

Daniel Burnside and his wife Sabrina spent 10 years of their lives fostering and spreading hatred for Blacks, Jews, Asians, Latinos, Mexicans, and the LGBTQ community.

They did so as part of the National Socialist Movement, once the largest Neo-Nazi white nationalist group in the United States, pushing their ideology through blistering rhetoric at demonstrations or literature espousing deep-seated intolerance for any ethnic group that isn't white.

On the website of NSM, it says the group is "fighting for civil rights and self-determination of Whites in America."

Burnside said that was the life he lived as the second-highest-ranking member of the organization.

He describes it as a brutal life, because living on hate took so much out of him.

"Horrible. Horrible, in one word," he said from his home.

Burnside said he had turned away from the ideology of white nationalists and removed images of swastikas from his property, claiming that there wasn't a single moment or event that shook him, but rather a gradual connection with common sense.

"I'd say it was over time. As I was in the movement, it was over time. I was completely one thousand percent on the wrong side," Burnside said.

His wife, Sabrina, said she realized there is no reason to hate or dislike anyone who doesn't share their race or color.

"If you've not done nothing to me, you've taken nothing from me, why do I have the right to feel that hate toward you?" she said.

Burnside and his wife say they're on a crusade to be held accountable for the ideology they once harbored, apologize, and ask for forgiveness.

"I'm denouncing anybody who hates somebody on the basis of race, religion or sexual identity," Sabrina said.

Burnside said they're reaching out to as many media platforms as possible to get out their message.

"I believe it's my duty to apologize and ask for forgiveness and help bring healing to this country", he said.

⁣We recently looked into the rising phenomenon of treating pets with medical cannabis. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center’s official position on pets and cannabis states: “At this point the ASPCA does not support using marijuana in pets for pain control. There have been no scientifically accepted studies comparing marijuana products to known pain control medications (opioids, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). In addition, research has not been able to adequately define what a safe and effective dose of marijuana would be due to the wide variety in product available.”


The clinical effects of THC ingestion in pets can include depression, listlessness, loss of motor coordination and balance, vomiting, hypothermia, agitation, diarrhea, drooling, urinary incontinence, seizures and, in a very few reported cases, coma or death. That’s no fun for Fido—or for any responsible pet owner. So, just as you keep your edibles, dabs, hash and flowers away from kids, keep it off the coffee table so that Mr. Snix doesn’t scarf it down and get all woozy. And here’s what to do if your pet does eat your stash:


1. Figure out what your pet ingested. Did he scarf down a joint? He’ll probably be okay. Did he snarf your 180 mg Bhang Bar? Chocolate can be fatally toxic to dogs, so Bowser may be doubly afflicted if he gobbled a cocoa-licious edible. Either way, play it safe: Don’t wait for symptoms to start. Treat him yourself right away, or get him to a veterinarian.


2. If you choose to treat your precious pooch or kitty at home, give him activated charcoal orally. It’s a good idea to always have some on hand; you can buy it at most drug stores. The activated charcoal traps toxins as they move through the digestive system. Keep your sweetie warm and in a dark, quiet place, and have fluids at the ready if he’s able to drink a little bit.


3. If you’ve given your little guy activated charcoal and he’s not showing signs of improvement, or is getting worse, take him to the vet right away. A veterinarian can put your pet on IV fluids and monitor him in case of more severe symptoms.


4. Be honest with the vet. Vets are not obligated to report marijuana poisoning, and they need to know what’s going on to properly treat your fur baby. Also, you don’t want to pay for a bunch of tests just so the vet can figure out that the dog ate your weed.


5. Stay calm. Animals with marijuana poisoning rarely die. Just be a good buddy, speak in a soothing voice, let your critter know that you’re there for him—and keep your stash in a safer place in the future.

⁣Hasidic Jewish students charged in NYC synagogue tunnel digging scoff at plea offer: ‘Rather go to prison’

The Hasidic Jewish students who dug a secret tunnel under a Brooklyn synagogue said they’d rather go to prison than face a ban from the historic temple — as they rebuffed plea deals from prosecutors Thursday.

Nearly all of the 13 young men charged over the infamous hideout — which went viral when it was discovered in January — scoffed at the offer from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office that would see them barred from the historic Crown Heights temple for three years.

“Being banned from 770 [Eastern Parkway] for three years is worse than jail,” one of the defendants, Yaakov Rothchild, told The Post in Hebrew through a translator, referring to the headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.

Rothchild could face up to seven years behind bars on felony charges of second-degree criminal mischief if he takes his chances at trial.

He and 12 of his co-defendants — who face obstruction of justice charges — could be headed to trial in January if they fail to come to an agreement with prosecutors.

Rothchild’s attorney, Jonathan Fink, called the suggestion of a Jan. 13, 2025 trial “silly,” noting the magnitude of the cases, which charges the renegades — including rabbinical students — of hiding inside a hole in a wall they’d damaged and refusing to get out despite police orders, according to court documents.

Fink also shot down the deal on the table, saying it had “no chance” of being accepted, during a hearing in Brooklyn Supreme Court Thursday.

The agreement would have most defendants pleading down to fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, in exchange for no jail time. They would instead face a three year ban from the house of worship and either 20 days of community service or $5,000 in restitution.

Assistant District Attorney Frank Longobardi argued the ban was necessary, noting the defendants were caught posing with a sign that said “Expand 770” — a reference to the tunnel-digging at the synagogue — at their arraignments in April.

“It’s our concern, for that reason, that they’ve shown that they’re not going to stop doing that,” Longobardi said. “When this case is over, they’re going to do the same thing.”

Judge Adam Perlmutter acknowledged that both sides were at a stalemate, and wondered if the terms of the restraining order sought by prosecutors could be tailored to allow the students access to the synagogue.

But if any more tunnel-digging occurred, the defendants would be charged with criminal contempt and face jail, the judge warned.

“[If] somebody does so much as lifts a toothpick towards demolishing cement or whatever in that facility, that individual could very well face a year on Rikers, a year of incarceration,” Perlmutter said.

Only one defendant — Menachem Molekandov, who lives in Israel — is considering taking the prosecution’s deal, according to his attorney Levi Huebner.

Molekandov appeared virtually to plead guilty but there was a holdup on what type of community work he would do since the judge wants it to be “meaningful” service done outside of religious organizations.

When the judge reminded him that he must remain away from the synagogue, Molekandov, who has a warrant out for his arrest, reassured him that he wouldn’t go back.

“Your honor, I just want you to know — since I’m unable to go to the United States, there’s no way for me to dig any tunnels,” Molekandov said.

Chabad-Lubavitch, referred to as 770, is considered one of most sacred buildings in the Big Apple.

Sources have said that the group of rebels used shovels to dig a secret excavation under the house or worship beginning during the pandemic because higher-ups were slow to expand the synagogue’s sanctuary.

They first gained entry into a deserted Jewish man’s ritual bath on Kingston Avenue and then busted through a 2-by-2-foot metal gate in the former bath’s basement before digging their way under a sanctuary space used by women next door to the synagogue.

The wannabe miners also attempted to stop cement-truck workers from filling their excavation sites earlier this year in an effort to protect it when cops were called. Prosecutors said Thursday that the cement had since been filled.

The melee outside of the synagogue, that broke out when the students allegedly refused police orders to scram, was caught on video and quickly went viral.

The synagogue is a popular place for students to study the teaching of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, aka the “Rebbe,” who called on expanding the building before his death in 1994.

For Yerachmiel Blumenfeld, another defendant in the case, the synagogue is the “House of Rebbe” that isn’t just any regular temple.

“It’s a very important place where we learn, pray and connect with our leader. This is a very meaningful thing for us,” Blumenfeld said. “This particular synagogue has a bigger meaning to us than going to another synagogue.”

The decision in this Supreme Court Case established the right of the courts to determine the constitutionality of the actions of the other two branches of government.

In 1801, outgoing President John Adams had issued William Marbury a commission as justice of the peace — but the new Secretary of State, James Madison, refused to deliver it. Marbury then sued to obtain it. With his decision in Marbury v. Madison, Chief Justice John Marshall established the principle of judicial review, an important addition to the system of “checks and balances” created to prevent any one branch of the Federal Government from becoming too powerful.

“A Law repugnant to the Constitution is void.” With these words written by Chief Justice Marshall, the Supreme Court for the first time declared unconstitutional a law passed by Congress and signed by the President. Nothing stated in the Constitution gave the Court this specific power. Marshall, however, believed that the Supreme Court should have a role equal to those of the other two branches of government.

When James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay wrote a defense of the Constitution in The Federalist, they explained their judgment that a strong national government must have built-in restraints: “You must first enable government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.” The writers of the Constitution had given the executive and legislative branches powers that would limit each other as well as the judiciary branch.

The Constitution gave Congress the power to impeach and remove officials, including judges or the President himself. The President was given the veto power to restrain Congress and the authority to appoint members of the Supreme Court with the advice and consent of the Senate. In this intricate system, the role of the Supreme Court had not been defined. It therefore fell to a strong Chief Justice like Marshall to complete the triangular structure of checks and balances by establishing the principle of judicial review. Although no other law was declared unconstitutional until the Dred Scott decision of 1857, the role of the Supreme Court to invalidate federal and state laws that are contrary to the Constitution has never been seriously challenged.

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Lakeland Police Department is reviewing an arrest made by two of its officers. It involves a 16-year-old and the video appears to show one officer punching him in the head and another using a taser.

Community activists are calling this an act of police brutality. The confrontation between the officers and the teen started at a Memorial Day pool party, where the teen is accused of trespassing.

Now, community leaders are calling for criminal charges against the officers and said they aren’t surprised by this latest incident involving Lakeland police.

"This place is one of the most dangerous places in Polk County," said Pastor Clayton Cowart with the Poor Minority Justice Association. "This is police brutality in every way and I think this is child abuse."

On Monday, police were called to a pool party at an apartment complex. Some of the teens were accused of trespassing.

In the video circulating on social media, you can see two officers punch and hit the teen multiple times. At one point, an officer grabs the teen by his hair, before another tases the 16-year-old.

"He’s traumatized, his mother is traumatized, the other kids that were there are traumatized," said Cowart.

The teen was charged with trespassing, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

According to the arrest affidavit, the officer said the 16-year-old was uncooperative and punched the officer in the face.

Lakeland PD said that Chief Sam Taylor has been informed of the incident, has met with community leaders about it and has already requested an administrative review by the Office of Professional Standards.

"I don’t believe that there is going to be any video that shows the young man struck the officer first. What I will say is this, where was his de-escalation tactics?" said Cowart.

FOX 13 requested the body cam footage, but at this time it is not being released. Some activists are questioning whether it will be.

"Lakeland has this culture of not playing the video, so let's see if we have the video first," said Cowart.

Some community leaders will meet with the police chief later this week. Cowart said there is a protest planned for Saturday outside the Lakeland Police Department at 6 p.m.

A day after a lone shooter attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania campaign rally, Jack Black sang “Happy Birthday” to his bandmate, Kyle Gass, at the duo’s concert in Australia. The two make up the band Tenacious D.

Black told Gass to “make a wish,” and Gass said, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

Thomas Matthew Crooks, who shot at Trump, hit the former president’s ear with a bullet in what the FBI swiftly deemed an assassination attempt. Crooks was shot and killed by the authorities shortly after. Corey Comperatore, a Pennsylvania man at Trump’s rally, was also shot and killed.

Gass’s remark was called out, used as proof that the condemnation of the shooting coming from Trump’s opponents is hollow.

The video comes from a now-deleted TikTok, which was then shared on X by Greg Price, who works in communications for the State Freedom Caucus Network, a Republican organization.

Price has also written for the Daily Caller, a right-wing news outlet founded by Tucker Carlson.

“Jack Black went on stage with his band over the weekend and his bandmate said ‘don’t miss Trump next time’ to laughs from the audience,” Price tweeted. “A month ago, he was a featured speaker at Biden’s fundraiser in Los Angeles. ‘We must come together’ indeed.”

As referenced by Price, Black spoke at a June fundraiser for President Joe Biden’s campaign. In his speech, he said, “When democracy is at stake, Jack Black answers the call.”

Biden’s glitzy Hollywood fundraiser brought in tens of millions in contributions but also may have set the stage for recent backlash against his candidacy.

Price’s reference to “we must come together” seems to be about remarks Biden has made in the aftermath of the assassination attempt: On Saturday night, Biden said “Everybody must condemn” the violence, and last night he said Americans should be “standing together.”

Many responses to Price’s tweet expressed that Gass was out of line and trying to “incite violence.”

“That’s incitement to violence,” one X user replied. “He should be charged.”

“By ‘come together,’ the left means ‘obey me or I’ll kill you,’” another X user said.

And other right-wing figures have also tweeted about Gass’s statement.

“Wow. Jack Black laughs as his friend makes a birthday wish that they ‘don’t miss Trump next time.’ Jack was just @JoeBiden’s guest of honor and speaker at his Hollywood fundraiser,” Robby Starbuck tweeted. Starbuck ran for Congress as a Republican in Tennessee. “Biden supporters are inciting another attempt to assassinate President Trump. Evil and sick.”

“Jack Black’s band mate is garbage,” conservative commentator Drew Hernandez tweeted. “These people are doubling down on wanting Trump taken out because they know someone will respond.”

Chris Loesch, who is married to conservative radio host Dana Loesch, also tweeted saying that he will no longer be listening to Black’s band or watching his movies after what Gass said.

“I used to love @tenaciousd and thought Jack Black was funny. None of them or their music/movies will ever be played in our home again. Ever. Sickening,” Loesch tweeted. “Not funny and done in a foreign country is even worse. If you think it’s OK, unfollow and block me.”
