Lie Reinforces how out of control FBI has become

Fairfax, Va. – The Department of Justice now says a DoJ court document claiming to have recovered a “fully constructed U.S. Capitol Lego set” from the home of a man charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach was “a miscommunication,” and the Lego set was actually unconstructed and in a box.

Robert Morss, 27, is accused of leading fellow rioters in what prosecutors say was “one of the most intense and prolonged clashes” with officers on Jan. 6. The new court filing said, “In original detention memoranda, the undersigned stated that law enforcement found a ‘fully constructed US Capitol Lego set.’ That statement appears to be inaccurate. The Lego set was in a box and not fully constructed at the time of the search.”

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement in response to this FBI lie:

“Once again, the Justice Department has had to admit that they lied about events surrounding Jan. 6. While the Lego lie may seem silly, it is part of a pattern that federal law enforcement has demonstrated in this case, and indeed over the past five years,” said Rick Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government.

“The most egregious example of this lying for public relations purposes was the death of Capitol Police Office Brian Sicknick. He was the officer who laid in state and was eulogized by Democrat and Republican members of Congress alike for his bravery in dying in defense of the Capitol. Only problem was, while Officer Sicknick did die on January 7, the coroner’s report shows that it had nothing to do with the events of January 6th. He was not hit in the head with a fire extinguisher and the Capitol Police knew it. Officer Sicknick checked in at the end of his shift with no signs of physical injury, so the Capitol Police knew that his death was unrelated and certainly that he was not injured as was reported. Yet, it was this lie that was used as justification to impeach President Trump and it was this lie that the Justice Department continues to use as the justification for holding hundreds of people in solitary confinement without any semblance of a speedy trial.

“The Lego lie just reinforces how out of control our nation’s FBI has become. The hundreds of people being held without bail in inhumane conditions demonstrates that the very essence of our judicial system, the presumption of innocence, has been run over by the political weaponization of federal law enforcement. The time is now for the Justice Department to either move forward with trials, or grant bail for people from all over the United States, some of whom never even entered the Capitol complex. Much more than a stolen podium is at stake, the very essence of our liberties are on the line. It’s time for the Biden Justice Department to either put up or shut up.”

A federal judge on Saturday issued a sweeping block on most Trump administration officials — including Elon Musk and his allies — from accessing sensitive Treasury records for at least a week while legal proceedings play out in New York.

Manhattan-based U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer issued the middle-of-the-night order after an emergency request by 19 Democratic attorneys general warning that the efforts by Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency allies to take control of Treasury’s sensitive payment systems — which have access to personal information of millions of Americans and the government’s financial transactions — were putting their residents at risk.

Engelmayer said he agreed with the states’ assessment that the abrupt changes in policy implemented by the Trump administration had created a risk that sensitive data would be disclosed or that the system could be hacked. He also said the states were very likely to show that the new arrangement was legally improper.

A federal judge in Washington had already limited access to this system to a pair of Musk allies who had been embedded within Treasury as “special government employees,” as well as other existing Treasury employees and officials with legitimate reasons to access it. But Engelmayer’s order goes further, barring even the two Musk-associated officials — Tom Krause and Marko Elez — and many other government employees from accessing the system until at least Feb. 14, when a different federal judge has called a hearing on the matter.

Instead, Engelmayer limited access to the Treasury system to “civil servants with a need for access … who have passed all background checks and security clearances and all information security training” required by laws and regulations.

The Barack Obama-appointed judge also affirmatively barred any political appointees or special government employees detailed to Treasury — the designation given to Musk’s allies — from accessing the system. And he ordered Treasury Department leaders to require that any newly prohibited officials who already accessed such information to “immediately destroy and all copies of material downloaded.”

The order is the latest in a series of emergency interventions by the courts to block the Trump administration’s rapid-fire attempt — led by Musk’s DOGE office in the White House — to remake the federal bureaucracy. Engelmayer’s order followed by just hours a block by a federal judge in Washington on a Musk-led drive to quickly dismantle USAID, the agency responsible for administering foreign aid programs. And other judges have intervened to limit Trump’s early efforts related to birthright citizenship, a sweeping spending freeze, a government-wide resignation program and the relocation transgender prison inmates.

Though Engelmayer issued the emergency order, the case will ultimately be handled by U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas, a Joe Biden appointee who was confirmed to the bench last year.

Du Pont invented Freon early in the 20th century. During World War II and America’s secret pursuit of the atom bomb, there were many technical hurdles to overcome. A major problem was obtaining the necessary nuclear materials. In nature, uranium primarily exists in two isotopes. An isotope is a version of an element. What makes one an elemental isotope different from another is its number of neutrons. In nature, Uranium is found as Uranium 238 ("U-238") and U-235. U-238 is by far the most abundant isotope and comprises more than 99% of all uranium. U-235 makes up less than 1% of naturally occurring uranium, but it is the isotope needed to make a bomb. The difference between U-235 and U-238 is three neutrons. Those three fewer neutrons make U-235 less stable (undergoing radioactive decay into more stable elements) than U-238. U-235’s half-life (the time it takes for half of it to decay) is 700 million years, but that is short compared to U-238’s 4.5 billion years. It is short enough to lump it together and create a nuclear chain reaction. That chain reaction is the required event for making nuclear weapons and nuclear energy possible.

How to separate U-235 from U-238? The answer was simple and the key to making nuclear weapons. Du Pont was the acknowledged master of refrigeration, and using fluorine to make a refrigerant was their specialty. The secret to separating the uranium isotopes was turning uranium into a gas, and uranium hexafluoride was born, which is one uranium atom bonded to six fluorine atoms. It is the only known uranium compound that is a gas at near environmental temperatures (its boiling point is 134° F). It is called “Hex” in the industry. From this essay’s chemistry lesson addendum, it should be obvious why that compound had such a low boiling point. Hex is uranium gas, or one could call it radioactive Freon.

Here is how they separated it. The Hex of U-235 is slightly lighter than Hex of U-238, because of those three neutrons. What Manhattan Project personnel did was send Hex through a mile-long tunnel filled with screens. As the Hex made its way to the end of the tunnel, the Hex, U-235 rose in comparison to the Hex, U-238, because it was slightly lighter. A membrane then filtered it out. It was an ingenious solution. They accumulated U-235 an atom at a time. The work of tens of thousands of people was directed at getting a lump of U-235 that I could hold in my hand. That was the active ingredient in the atom bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

Du Pont produced vast amounts of fluorine for the Hex. During 1944 there was an accident at du Pont, and a cloud of deadly hydrogen fluoride was released into the air. When added to water, hydrogen fluoride becomes hydrofluoric acid. There were probably numerous releases.[45] The fluoride clouds sailed away to farms downwind. Crops withered, and people and animals became violently ill. The affected farmers in Gloucester and Salem counties, famous for their high quality produce, sued the federal government after the war. They were stifled in their lawsuits against du Pont and the Manhattan Project, largely because the data regarding the damage done was kept secret in the interest of “national security.” The farmers eventually gave up and settled their suits for a few hundred dollars per farm. Recently declassified documents show Harold Hodge’s active role in the government’s damage control effort. In a secret Manhattan Project memo dated March 1, 1946, Hodge, who was the Manhattan Project’s chief toxicologist for fluorine studies, wrote to the Manhattan Project's medical division chief, Colonel Stafford Warren. Hodge expressed his concern regarding the toxicity of fluorine and the New Jersey incident. Hodge outlined four major areas of concern:

"1. A question of injury of the peach crop in 1944.

"2. A report of extraordinary fluoride content of vegetables grown in this area.

"3. A report of abnormally high fluoride content in the blood of human individuals residing in this area.

"4. A report raising the question of serious poisoning of horses and cattle in this area."

Shortly after the farmers sued, the federal government mobilized tremendous resources to counteract the farmers' efforts. Secret meetings were held in Washington D.C., attended by everybody from the FDA to the Bureau of Standards to the Justice Department. Why were they meeting? In a declassified memo from Colonel Cooper Rhodes of the Manhattan Project, those government agencies were “making scientific investigations to obtain evidence which may be used to protect the interest of the Government at the trial of the suits brought by owners of peach orchards in ... New Jersey.”
