Monkey spotted at Florida Popeyes drive-thru: ‘Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen’

Maybe he just loves that chicken from Popeyes?

A loose monkey has been spotted in Central Florida, with the elusive simian recently seen scaring a woman working at a Popeyes drive-thru window.

“I look over and I’m like, ‘Is this real? This cannot be possible,’” employee Kimberly Bialobos told FOX 35 after seeing the monkey on Wednesday morning.

“This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Bialobos said the monkey appeared near the restaurant on Enterprise Road, in Orange City, at around 9:30 a.m.

She noted that the monkey appeared to know how to navigate the streets, avoiding a busy road before disappearing from view.

The sighting came less than two hours before the Orange City Police Department revealed they received multiple calls about the monkey roaming the streets.

“The monkey… has been identified as a wild Rhesus Macaque monkey,” police said in a statement. “Please DO NOT feed or attempt to capture these monkeys!”

City officials said they have been in contact with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regarding the loose animal.

It is unclear if more than one monkey is on the loose.

Police have urged residents to contact the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 1-888-404-FWCC if they come across the monkey.

The state FWCC lists the rhesus macaque as a “nonnative species in Florida and is not protected except by anti-cruelty law.”

The agency warns that the monkey “may become aggressive” when fed.

The species is fairly common in the Silver Springs State Park, located about 60 miles away, which was estimated to hold 190 macaques in 2015, according to the FWCC.

Acid Mammoth is a doom/stoner metal band from Athens, Greece, with two of their four members being a father/son guitarist duo. I had never even heard of this band before YouTube put this album in my recommendations today - and, quite frankly, I am not very familiar with a lot of European metal outside of the obvious thrash and death metal scenes - but I am very glad that I decided to give it a shot, because this was a very enjoyable experience.

It pretty much goes without saying that there is a massive amount of Black Sabbath influence on this record - that comes with the territory considering Sabbath pioneered the genre decades ago. The Babalis duo are not afraid to pound the listener with one hulking, fuzzy, slow-paced riff after another, and while for the most part the band does not fluctuate all too much in terms of tempo, they are able to keep things mostly fresh and not overly travel on charted waters. While there are some riffs that could be pulled straight from a Sabbath record or a Matt Pike-penned song (i.e. "Jack the Riffer"), the band keeps it interesting through atmosphere, earworm melodic phrases, and some epic lead passages. The band sprinkles in some psychedelic elements into some of the songwriting, with standout track "Tree of Woe" being a good example -- parts of songs almost are "trance-like" regarding the ambiance they create.

The drum performance fits the songs perfectly, not particularly flashy or technical but flashiness would pretty much kill any sort of ambiance in these doomy, lurching tracks. The mixing of the drums is probably the worst part of the production - the kick drum sounds okay, but the rest of the kit is buried under the wall of distorted guitars and bass, and sounds a bit thin. I was happy with the bass performance on this album; it, for the most part, was not flashy either and created a solid rhythm section with the drums in which the guitars could do their thing, but when the bass got its own time in the spotlight, it was a nice touch to the songs. The tone of the bass is great, distorted and chunky but retaining a degree of clarity that can sometimes get lost in overly fuzzy mixes.

The vocals are really interesting, at times sounding almost uncannily like Ozzy Osbourne, while also occasionally reminding me of Al Cisneros from Sleep in terms of timbre and delivery. I didn't pay much attention to the lyrical content while listening, but after reading the lyrics, I am largely unimpressed, as just seems to be pretty standard drudgery about witchcraft and Satan. This is not a massive detractor but it didn't really serve as a major benefactor, either. The vocals can also be washed under the waves of fuzz and distortion at times, though not quite to the extent of the drums. Lastly, the guitars came through with some really nice riffs, especially when they move up to higher registers. The leads are scarce but are more aimed at adding a grandiose sense of atmosphere to the songs instead of shredding or displaying technical wizardry. The tone is great for this kind of music - warm, fuzzy, overdriven as hell - and the guitars are upfront in the mix (a little bit too upfront).

This record is only 5 songs with a runtime of around 35 minutes, but honestly it left me pretty satiated, not really wanting anymore or less material as a general statement. While I do love "Tree of Woe" and its catchy, titanic riffs, the song would be just as good if the last two minutes were cut; "Tusks of Doom" and "Jack the Riffer" were very solid songs but didn't have the same impression on me as the songs that bookended them, and they sounded a little too cliche for me to fully appreciate them. The title track "Under Acid Hoof" is by far the best track on the record and was a phenomenal way to end the album, with the most creative and eclectic ideas presented here by Acid Mammoth. This band really sounds like they have cemented "their" sound, and while there are probably more "unique" stoner/doom bands out there, I am happy with this release and excited to see what they have in store for us in the next few years.

It's not the graphics that should shock anyone, it's witnessing those last couple moments of a man intent, but still hesitant.
For me that's the hardest to watch.

Like most kids, I saw this live since we had off from school due to snow. I knew exactly what he was gonna do with the gun once he pulled it out. I thought for sure they'd cut to commercial, but they didn't. The local news had psychiatrists on for the people (young kids especially) who watched it. I thought for sure my father was gonna kill me because I begged my mother to take me to the library earlier that day to get some Hardy Boys books in the snowstorm. Fortunately, that didn't happen. My father was down the hall & heard the gunshot since he worked for Budd. I was 10 at the time and I'll never forget what I saw that day.

There was a political corruption scandal in Pennsylvania and he unjustly became the scapegoat. He was framed, tried, and convicted of a crime he did not commit. He was about to go to jail for something that has now been proven he was innocent of. Instead of being thrown in jail by the real wrongdoers, he chose to take his own life in protest.
He wrote that the real reason for his suicide was to raise awareness of corruption in the justice system.

I saw this years ago...the whole thing. This haunted me for years. I heard that later, he was found to have done absolutely nothing wrong....God bless his family, for this must have been the worst thing ever. He was so kind that he didn't want anyone else to get hurt by accident....this haunted my heart, and likely always will...I wish I could unsee it....poor poor man.
You can tell that towards the end of his speech it went from talking about his legacy to talking about his life on earth (47 years), i would think at that stage of the interview press and media would have started to wonder what he was going on about, the interview went from a resignation speech to basically a suicide note as it got more perplexing by the minute. No one would have expected what was to happen however, quite a shocking thing to witness.

This is so wrong on every conceivable way. Budd Dwyer's suicide shows not only what is wrong with politics and law but, everything else that is wrong with the world.

“Call 911!! Per The WV Dept of Environmental Protection, they have requested that anybody experiencing these issues call 911 immediately and have their local fire department respond. They also advise to shut doors and windows and avoid outdoors at this time as a common sense approach until it can be identified,” a post on the page read."

In a later post, the page stated “EPWF is an informational venue. While we may not agree with the DEPs assessment to call 911 to have local FDs respond; it is, in fact, the requested action by the governing agency responsible. We are just passing that information on. If you believe WV DEP response was inadequate or overkill, please contact them directly.”

Jefferson County, WV Homeland Security and Emergency Management posted that “our office has been following the reports of the dust seen throughout the Eastern Panhandle of WV. The attached post from one of the meteorologists connected with a TV station in WV seems to be able to provide some knowledgeable insight into the observations. We will be following up with further information from the State as it becomes available.”

They pointed to another local meteorologist, Spencer Adkins, who wrote “clearly ‘stuff in the air’ is a concern anywhere in the entire region after East Palestine but satellite scientists pointed the dust plume out early Thursday because it was pretty evident. ⁣Trope: Jews are Responsible for Their Own Persecution
Some Holocaust deniers choose to blame the victims while also denying the most heinous crimes of the Holocaust. This trope alleges that, to the extent that Jews were targeted, it was due to direct Jewish collaboration with Hitler’s regime, and that those Jews who did die during this period were causalities of a Zionist-led and financed effort to work with Nazis directly in order to establish the State of Israel and persuade Jews to emigrate there. These deniers see no contradiction between denying the existence of the gas chambers and the Final Solution, and blaming Zionists for whatever Jewish persecution they acknowledge actually occurred.
The promotion of this trope distorts historical facts by downplaying the responsibility of the Nazis in perpetrating the Holocaust and reframing specific events both prior to and during World War II to fit their narrative. It also serves to portray Zionists historically and today as callous, deceitful and evil people who will take any actions necessary to achieve their goals.

3 niggers in Auburn, WA Try to Break Into Home, Immediately Discover 2nd Amendment!

AUBURN, Wash. — A homeowner in Auburn fired multiple shots at three armed men attempting to break into their home early Thursday morning.

According to the Auburn Police Department (APD), officers responded to a report of a non-injury shooting at a home on the 31000 block of 117 Place Southeast around 2 a.m. Thursday. A resident at the address told responding officers three people wearing masks attempted to break into the home.

Security video from the home shows three armed men wearing masks walk up to the home, open the screen door and start kicking the door. One of the men can be heard in the video yelling, “Seattle police.”

Two of the men continued to try and kick in the door before the third suspect was able to kick the door open. The APD said the homeowner was armed and “quickly started firing shots at the intruders through the door.”

Multiple shots were fired before the suspects fled from the home.

The man and woman living inside the home told KOMO News the three men started shooting at their home as they were trying to escape and knocked down some of the fencing as they got away.

A neighbor who did not want to give his name said he woke up to the sound of gunfire and a bullet hit his home.

“We heard a bullet go through our window and our alarm started going off and then I just heard an exchange of gunfire just a bunch of bullets," he added.

One of the men can be seen in the video wearing a grey sweatshirt or jacket, grey sweatpants and what appear to be blue or black shoes.

Another suspect can be seen wearing black pants and a black or blue jacket. The third suspect can be seen in the video wearing brown pants and a black sweatshirt or jacket. All three of the men were wearing masks, and at least two of the men appear to be wearing gloves.

One of the homeowners said she believes it was over 20 gunshots aimed toward the house. They said they’re grateful no one was hurt but wonder what could have happened if they didn’t protect themselves.

Neighbors are still in shock that this happened in an area they said is secluded.

“You assume you’re safe, you assume it wouldn’t happen to you and even though it didn’t happen directly to me, it’s close enough where we saw the impact in our living room," said the neighbor.

The video shows all three of the men were armed with a pistol.

Auburn police said it’s alarming the suspects pretended to be officers as a way to get into their home.

“They try to give you that false sense of security before they try and get into your home but in this sense, they started kicking almost simultaneously and in that situation just try to put it together that this is not the police that are trying to kick in your door," said Kolby Crossley, public information officer for Auburn police.

No other suspect information has been released at this time.
