The men were arrested later that day when the van was spotted driving near the NY Giants NFL stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. FBI agents stopped the men’s van and pulled them out. Sivan Kurzberg, the driver, reportedly said at the time: "We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem."
So what were the men doing that day? News website The Gray Zone spoke to one of the Israeli men involved, who recounted that fateful day. The man, who the publication did not name, said that they were at work when news of the attacks first broke, and when they realised that work was cancelled, drove to Union City to get a better view of what was happening. Then, when attempting to return to their shared apartment in Brooklyn, ended up caught in a police blockade where they were arrested.
The Israeli men were eventually processed in a federal detention centre in Manhattan. While arrested, US immigration officials discovered they were overstaying their visas and after weeks of interrogation, Sivan Kurzberg, Paul Kurzberg, Omer Gavriel Marmari, Yaron Shmuel and Oded Ellner all signed documents admitting violations of US immigration law and returned to Israel.
One of the men, Yaron Shmuel, vented his frustration at the incident to Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv, saying:“They pulled guns on us, threw us to the ground like terrorists, and citizens that were in the area yelled ‘shoot them in the head.’”
As the New York Times reported at the time, the five men were caught in the wide net thrown by American law enforcement officials, eager to be seen to be taking action after the actions of 9/11.
A report by the FBI cleared their names later that month. A field report published a few weeks later stated: “Both the Newark and the New York Divisions conducted a thorough investigation which determined that none of the Israelis had any information on prior knowledge regarding the bombing of the World Trade Center. Furthermore, Newark and New York determined that none of the Israelis were actively engaged in clandestine intelligence activities in the United States.”

Four Florida teens, including a star football player, were killed in a high-speed police chase after their car spun out of control, flipped over and wrapped around a utility pole.
The deadly pursuit began as officers chased after the Honda CRV, which was reported stolen, as it sped away from cops at 111 mph on April 20, officials said, according to WLBT.
“We confirmed with the Gainesville Police Department that they still had that car entered as stolen, and the officer waited until he had three backup units with him before he initiated the traffic stop,” Bradford County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brad Smith said, according to the Main Street Daily News.“They did start to pull over on the shoulder of the road, but before they came to a complete stop, they accelerated again, and that is when the chase was on.”
Deputies halted their pursuit at the county line as they could not keep up with the high-speed vehicle.
“The [Florida] Highway Patrol was, at that point, the only vehicle that could actually keep up with them,” Smith said. “Our vehicles cannot match the speed that they were going, but we did continue one of our units to try and stay as close as they could as a backup unit to FHP until Alachua County’s units were able to catch up to them.”
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a trooper joined the pursuit and “identified that some of the occupants appeared to be wearing ski masks.”
“The Trooper made intentional contact with the Honda, causing it to decelerate,” the Highway Patrol said in a statement. “The Trooper used the break in speed to perform a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT maneuver) on the fleeing Honda to stop the threat created by the fleeing suspect. The Honda subsequently rolled over before making contact with a cement pole.”
The tactic involves stopping a fleeing vehicle by forcing it to turn sideways abruptly and steering into it.
Alachua County Fire Rescue responded and described the vehicle as “wrapped around a concrete utility pole.”
It took first responders over 90 minutes to extricate the passengers.
Two were pronounced dead on the scene, while two others were pronounced dead in the hospital.
All of the victims in the horrifying crash two weekends ago in Waldo were between the ages of 14 and 16.
Two have been identified as Newberry High School students Jabril Cheevers and Lawrence McClendon Jr., a sophomore defensive back for the football team whose 18-year-old brother, Jermaine Godbolt, was shot and killed last month, the Main Street Daily News reported.
“It’s concerning when you have so many deaths back to back, but all we can do as a community is wrap our arms around each other, love each other, ask ourselves what we need to be doing, and then do it,” Newberry Mayor Jordan Marlowe, who teaches at the school, told the paper on Thursday.
Tributes shared online remembered McLendon as a star football player.
“Lawrence was a great kid to be around and have in our program,” said Ed Johnson, Newberry’s head football coach. “As a football player he was competitive, talented and relentless with a knack for making big plays. He will be truly missed by everyone in the Panther football family.”
Marlowe said grief counselors and trauma specialists had been on campus all week.

Nick Fuentes is a white nationalist livestreamer who advocates pulling the Republican Party further to the extreme far-right end of the political spectrum. An outspoken admirer of fascists such as Mussolini, Fuentes emerged as an influential figure on the national stage during the now-infamous “Stop the Steal” movement, which relied on misinformation to falsely claim that Donald Trump had won the 2020 election and sought to overturn the results of it. Some Republican lawmakers have collaborated with his America First Foundation, which hosts an annual America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) alongside the more mainstream Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which it seeks to supplant.
PLATFORMS AND CRYPTOCURRENCY
Outside of the neo-Nazi Anglin, few U.S. extremists have demonstrated the degree of online adaptability that Fuentes has since he became a fixture in circles trafficking in white supremacist ideologies. Tech companies have forced Fuentes, like Anglin, into that position by removing him from mainstream platforms in response to his voicing hateful views. YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Twitter and even DLive and the pro-Trump site GETTR have suspended Fuentes from their services, leaving him to cobble together an approach to reaching the public that relies on independently created streaming services, and fringe, say-anything platforms such as Telegram and Gab.
Fuentes rose to prominence through YouTube, where he generated donations through the company’s Super Chat function, which elevates commenters’ words to prominence on the screen in exchange for a fee. YouTube suspended Fuentes in 2020, at which point he decamped to DLive, which offered a similar service, buoyed by an in-house cryptocurrency system. DLive suspended Fuentes in 2021, following the Jan. 6 insurrection. Fuentes responded in October 2021 by mounting Cozy.TV, an independent livestreaming service that functions like those other platforms and enables him more freedom to speak without being tied to a company’s terms. Fuentes kept the format of his shows the same after going independent.
SPLC’s Hatewatch reported in November 2021 that a group of men who also collaborate with Infowars’ Alex Jones helped Fuentes build Cozy.TV. Michael Zimmermann, who served as the IT director for Alex Jones’ Infowars and worked for the extremist-friendly domain registry Epik, also worked with Fuentes on staging his videos. Zimmermann used Epik to register the domain “tarrantmanfiesto.com” hours after convicted terrorist Brenton Tarrant gunned down 51 Muslim people at Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, on March 15, 2019. Simon Dickerman, another Fuentes digital collaborator, has participated in the white supremacist movement since at least 2017, when he helped stage a protest targeting Black immigrants outside the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, Tennessee, while traumatized victims of a recent mass shooting prayed inside. SPLC’s Hatewatch found Dickerman, who goes by the internet pseudonym “Simon Sasquatch” working a video camera at a Fuentes-led “Vax Watch” event in November 2021. Fuentes commonly produces heavily edited propaganda videos to showcase his events to fans.
Fuentes built up part of his audience on Twitter, which gave him a verified account after he appeared on the white supremacist side of Charlottesville’s “Unite the Right” event. When Twitter verified Fuentes, few people knew him outside of his connections to far-right extremism. As of 2021, Fuentes amassed more than 135,000 followers on Twitter. He praised Twitter for helping him reconnect with his fans after streaming sites deplatformed him.
“We retained 80% of the viewership,” Fuentes said on a Jan. 20 broadcast regarding his transition from DLive to independent streaming methods. “I mean that’s a pretty big deal. It’s hard to overstate what a big deal that is … just by saying, ‘Hey check me out on Twitter.’”
Twitter suspended Fuentes days after SPLC’s Hatewatch published a report about their platform in July 2021. He has since built up a substantial following on the social network Gab, whose lax policies have made it a white supremacist-friendly haven. Gab’s metrics claim Fuentes has a following that exceeds 100,000 accounts, but critics, including former collaborators, have accused the company of inflating follower numbers to appear larger than they are.

⁣Video: Bike-Borne Robbers Attempt To Rob Woman In Argentina, Get Dose Of Instant Karma

Two motorbike-borne assailants who tried to rob a woman on the streets of Argentine capital Buenos Aires and got a dose of instant karma. Footage now going viral on social media shows the woman, who was actually a cop dressed in plain clothes, opening fire on the muggers and thwarting the attack.

According to Argentine news outlet Carlos Paz Vivo!, the incident happened last Wednesday. The suspects were in their late teens. A separate report by La Noticiade Quilmes said that both of them were arrested by the police.

Famous X account Colin Rugg also shared the video on his page. The clip has amassed over 3.3 million views, as per the video’s view counter.

They said that the incident happened at the intersection of General Manuel Savio and Bradley in Quilmes, Buenos Aires.

In the video, one of the bike-borne muggers is seen dismounting off the bike and moving towards the victim. The woman quickly turns and draws her service weapon and then fires three shots.

The first bullet struck the approaching mugger who collapsed immediately.

The policewoman, now on the ground, swiftly focused towards the other mugger, still on his bike.

The shooting stopped the robbery attempt and forced the muggers to flee and the policewoman escaped without injuries.

The thieves were arrested later when they visited a nearby hospital to seek treatment for gunshot wounds. One of the muggers arrived at the Iriarte Hospital. Cops arrested him after he matched the description of the attackers.

Hours later, staff at the Almirante Brown reported that another male with a minor wound on his left arm had been admitted to Oñativia Hospital in Rafael Calzada.

This
video of boys from poor families that were taken to dance for the
Taliban and Islamic government officials in Afghanistan and Pakistan has
been going viral.

Some context: After the dance these boys are raped. This is a tradition called Bacha Bazi.

After
the Taliban came to power in 1996, bacha bazi was banned along with
homosexuality. The Taliban considered it incompatible with Sharia law.

Bacha
bāzī is a term for a custom involving child sexual abuse in Afghanistan
and in historical Turkestan for a custom involving child sexual abuse
by older men of young adolescent males or boys, called dancing boys.

This
often involves sexual slavery and child prostitution by older men of
young adolescent males or boys. It can also be practiced by Afghan
refugees in Pakistan.

Both bacha bazi and homosexuality carried
the death penalty, with the boys sometimes being charged rather than
the perpetrators.

In 2011, in an agreement between the United
Nations and Afghanistan, Radhika Coomaraswamy and Afghan officials
signed an action plan promising to end the practice, along with
enforcing other protections for children.

In 2014, Suraya
Subhrang, child rights commissioner at the national Afghanistan
Independent Human Rights Commission, stated that the areas practicing
bacha bazi had increased.

In 2022, after the Taliban's return
to power following the United States' military disengagement from
Afghanistan, it was reported that the abuse persisted in the reinstated
Islamic Emirate, with Taliban officials broadly engaging in bacha bazi.

Bill Gates Just Released The Math Formula That Will Solve Climate Change

Bill Gates is betting personal billions on investing in clean energy. And now the world's richest man is putting his mouth where his money is.

He devoted his half of the annual letter from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation -- a yearly barometer of his philanthropic focus, either in terms of how or where he’s deploying money and attention -- to climate change. More specifically, the need for a clean, renewable energy source.

“I’m amazed how little we spend there compared with defense research, medical research,” Gates tells Forbes.

Especially when the stakes are so big. Gates directed this year’s letter toward high school students, complete with personal details including his early affinity for Superman comic books, his bad grades in middle school and his love of Cocoa Puffs cereal. (Melinda Gates, who focused the second half of the letter on gender equality, prefers Wheat Chex). He punctuates his letter with a simple mathematical equation he concocted that underscores the need for what he calls an “energy miracle”.

P x S x E x C = CO2 (carbon dioxide output).

It’s a neat little formula because it drives home the point: that for all the Paris climate talks and more affordable Teslas, environmental incrementalism is somewhat pointless. In the equation, P = population; S = services used by people; E= the energy needed to power those services; and C equals the carbon dioxide created by that energy. Population is of course trending ever-higher, as are the services people demand, especially in the developing world which has barely scratched the surface in terms of cars and air conditioning and other modern basics. Those two factors swamp progress in energy efficiency. Gates points out that scientists are calling for an 80 percent drop in carbon emissions by 2050 (and a total end by 2100) to stave off the most dramatic effects of climate change, yet even with more efficiency, the growth in population and services means that emissions will instead jump by 50%.

Math 101: the only way to get to zero carbon dioxide output is to drop one of those inputs to zero. Since eliminating any carbon byproduct of energy is preferable to a complete human die-off or a stone age suite of services, that’s the only path. Shaving at the margins simply won’t get the job done; only a moonshot solution that provides unlimited clean energy will stave off environmental (and thus, economic) catastrophe.

“Unless emissions get to zero, you’re just not going to get there,” says Gates.
