Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) issued a defiant response on Monday to former Trump co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita, signaling he would not be pressured to back a measure funding the government that President Trump supports and the House will consider on Tuesday.

“Someone thinks they can control my voting card by threatening my re-election. Guess what? Doesn’t work on me,” Massie wrote in a Monday post on the social platform X in response to LaCivita, who had written “tick tock Tommie” about the bill.

“Three times I’ve had a challenger who tried to be more MAGA than me. None busted 25 percent because my constituents prefer transparency and principles over blind allegiance,” Massie added.

Massie is the only House Republican to say definitively that he will vote against a continuing resolution that would keep the government funded through the end of September.

Trump has threatened to oust him for his opposition.

“Congressman Thomas Massie, of beautiful Kentucky, is an automatic ‘NO’ vote on just about everything, despite the fact that he has always voted for Continuing Resolutions in the past,” Trump wrote in a Monday Truth Social post, comparing Massie to former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

“HE SHOULD BE PRIMARIED, and I will lead the charge against him. He’s just another GRANDSTANDER, who’s too much trouble, and not worth the fight.”

The Kentucky Republican has frequently shown opposition to Trump’s agenda. He has also frustrated Republicans in Congress at various times by voting against their funding measures.

“I’m not voting for the Continuing Resolution budget (cut-copy-paste omnibus) this week. Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse DOGE has found,” the Kentucky representative wrote on X.

Massie has used the backlash to raise campaign funds for his re-election bid, lauding himself as the “one person in Congress who won’t cave.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has remained supportive of Massie despite the anger from Trump and his allies.

“Look, I’m in the incumbent protection program here. That’s what I do,” Johnson said when asked about Trump’s threat to primary Massie.
“I bless those who persecute me, right? So, Thomas and I have had disagreements, but I consider Thomas Massie a friend,” Johnson added.
“He’s a thoughtful guy. I guess he’ll tell you he’s doing what he thinks is right on this. I just vehemently disagree with his position. But I’ll leave it at that.”

A three-year-old boy showed remarkable bravery when he helped his great-grandmother after she fell and injured herself.

In February, while Bridger Peabody's family was at the hospital with his sister, Bridger's great-grandmother, Sharon Lewis, offered to take him home.

As they approached the house, Sharon fell and hit her head on the corner of a cement step.

"She bonked her head and it popped open," Bridger said.

The fall left Sharon unable to get to a phone to call for help.

"If Bridger wasn't there, I don't know what I would have done," Sharon told KUSA.

She instructed Bridger to retrieve her phone from the car, which was parked in the dark backyard.

"I was scared outside in the really dark," he said.

Despite his fear of the "really dark," Bridger ventured outside and video shows him repeating "don't be afraid" to himself as he completed his mission.

Once he found the phone, he yelled, "I got it GG!"

Sharon was then able to call for an ambulance.

Bridger, who does not consider himself a big kid yet, expressed his desire to help his great-grandmother when he grows up.

"You're GG's hero, aren't ya?" Sharon said. "He's just a blessing."

Sharon suffered a serious concussion and required 22 staples in her head, but she is now recovering well.

⁣Collin Rugg - NEW: Parents lose it at Cristo Rey High School in Milwaukee after a hidden camera was allegedly found in the girl's locker room.

Former security coordinator Fernando Bustos was criminally charged after allegedly being caught with over 400 videos of girls changing.

Parents are lashing out at school administrators, demanding answers for why it took weeks after police were called for them to find out what was going on.

Police were initially called on February 19, but parents say they didn't find out till weeks later.

Bustos pleaded not guilty today to allegations that he produced hundreds of videos with a hidden camera at the Jesuit High School.

Bustos is a former police officer. He resigned in 2020.

⁣When Washburn, North Dakota’s town commissioners decided in January to take up the issue of whether or not to continue fluoridating the water supply for the town’s 1,300 residents, they anticipated researching the risks versus benefits and putting the matter to a vote.

What they didn’t anticipate — but soon encountered — was evidence of a coordinated effort by state actors and a national fluoride lobby group, using federal money, to crush local efforts by small towns like Washburn to stop fluoridating their water supplies.

On Monday night, town commissioners voted 4-1 to stop adding fluoride to Washburn’s water supply — making Washburn the latest in a growing list of communities across the country to end the practice in light of mounting scientific evidence that the chemical harms children’s health and provides little or no dental benefit.

At the meeting, Commissioner Keith Hapip shared what he said was evidence of astroturfing by Dr. Johnny Johnson, president of the American Fluoridation Society; Jim Kershaw, Bismarck, North Dakota’s water plant superintendent and others.

“Astroturfing is when a group with money and power pretends to be regular folks supporting something, but it’s really a planned push from the top,” Hapip said. “Real grassroots come from the community naturally. And here, the oral health program used CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] cash to manufacture support for fluoridation in Washburn.”

Johnson phoned into the meeting to advocate for water fluoridation. In response, the commission also hosted a presentation by Michael Connett — the attorney who represented the plaintiffs who won a landmark ruling in a lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the agency’s failure to appropriately regulate fluoride use in water supplies.

Dr. Griffin Cole, conference chairman of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, who has expertise on fluoride’s toxic effects, also made a presentation.

Interviews by The Defender with grassroots actors across the country revealed that for years, Johnson, one of the country’s foremost advocates of water fluoridation, has been intervening in grassroots efforts to end fluoridation in their communities.

He and colleagues — in this case, Kershaw — travel physically or virtually to meetings in towns across the country.

Johnson himself, along with the American Dental Association (ADA), openly celebrates this work lobbying local governments. The ADA frequently reports on Johnson’s appearances and his “success” blocking community efforts to end fluoridation on its website.

As recently as last week, Johnson reportedly bussed in dentists to a meeting in Seminole County, Florida.

At least one other town in North Dakota, McVille, voted to remove fluoride from its water in 2023. However, after Johnson, Kershaw, OPH employees Bopp and Kiefer, and dentists from the ADA pressured the town of 417 inhabitants — Johnson flew in for their meeting — the town reversed the decision.
