It's not the graphics that should shock anyone, it's witnessing those last couple moments of a man intent, but still hesitant.
For me that's the hardest to watch.

Like most kids, I saw this live since we had off from school due to snow. I knew exactly what he was gonna do with the gun once he pulled it out. I thought for sure they'd cut to commercial, but they didn't. The local news had psychiatrists on for the people (young kids especially) who watched it. I thought for sure my father was gonna kill me because I begged my mother to take me to the library earlier that day to get some Hardy Boys books in the snowstorm. Fortunately, that didn't happen. My father was down the hall & heard the gunshot since he worked for Budd. I was 10 at the time and I'll never forget what I saw that day.

There was a political corruption scandal in Pennsylvania and he unjustly became the scapegoat. He was framed, tried, and convicted of a crime he did not commit. He was about to go to jail for something that has now been proven he was innocent of. Instead of being thrown in jail by the real wrongdoers, he chose to take his own life in protest.
He wrote that the real reason for his suicide was to raise awareness of corruption in the justice system.

Every July, some of the richest and most powerful men in the world gather at a 2,700 acre campground in Monte Rio, Calif., for two weeks of heavy drinking, super-secret talks, druid worship (the group insists they are simply “revering the Redwoods”), and other rituals.
Their purpose: to escape the “frontier culture,” or uncivilized interests, of common men.

The people that gather at Bohemian Grove — who have included prominent business leaders, former U.S. presidents, musicians, and oil barons — are told that “Weaving Spiders Come Not Here,” meaning business deals are to be left outside. One exception was in 1942, when a planning for the Manhattan Project took place at the grove, leading to the creation of the atom bomb.

A spokesperson for Bohemian Grove say the people that gather there “share a passion for the outdoors, music, and theater.”
The club is so hush-hush that little can be definitively said about it, but much of what we know today is from those who have infiltrated the camp, including Texas-based filmmaker Alex Jones. In 2000, Jones and his cameraman entered the camp with a hidden camera and were able to film a Bohemian Grove ceremony, Cremation of the Care. During the ceremony, members wear costumes and cremate a coffin effigy called “Care” before a 40-foot-owl, in deference to the surrounding Redwood trees.

Bohemian Grove’s spokesperson calls the ceremony “a traditional musical drama celebrating nature and summertime.” The spokesperson also said that while Jones’ comments are inaccurate, the footage is real.

Another infiltrator, Spy magazine writer Philip Weiss, posed as a guest for seven days in 1989, when the waiting list was 33 years long and the grove had several thousand members. Weiss published the article “Inside Bohemian Grove,” writing: “You know you are inside the Bohemian Grove when you come down a trail in the woods and hear piano music from amid a group of tents and then round a bend to see a man with a beer in one hand ... urinating into the bushes. This is the most gloried-in ritual of the encampment, the freedom of powerful men to pee wherever they like, a right the club has invoked when trying to fight government anti-sex discrimination efforts and one curtailed only when it comes to a few popular redwoods just outside the Dining Circle.”

Former President Bill Clinton once told a heckler, “The Bohemian club! Did you say Bohemian club? That’s where all those rich Republicans go up and stand naked against redwood trees right? I’ve never been to the Bohemian club but you oughta go. It’d be good for you. You’d get some fresh air.”

The Sonoma County Free Press, which has published investigative stories on the grove since at least the 1980s, says activities include plays and comedy shows in which women are portrayed by male actors, and Lakeside Talks, in which high-ranking officials speak about information not available to the public. The group calls them “public interest talks.”

Protests take place at the Bohemian Grove nearly ever year. This year’s protest is organized by the California State Greens and endorsed by other social activist groups.

Bohemian Grove’s 2011 retreat begins in mid-July. We don’t suggest any infiltrators try to make their way through the entrance, guarded by camp valets and redwoods some 200 feet in height. It didn’t end too well for the last Vanity Fair editor who tried it.

He’d been cooped up inside during the pandemic, but assured his grandmother that he and his friends would keep their masks on if she let him go out to play football. She reluctantly agreed.

“It’s right up the street from us,” Mack said. “He told me ‘I love you’ and I said, ‘Love you too.’ But he didn’t make it there.”

Relatives discovered David Mack’s body while searching for him the following day. He’d been shot to death behind a public golf course about a quarter-mile from his southwest Atlanta home. He was 12.

Diamond Johnson, 15, was killed last month when an argument led to gunfire in a southeast Atlanta shopping center. Calvin Jackson Jr., 17, a rising Midtown High School junior, was shot to death over Memorial Day weekend in his family’s Old Fourth Ward apartment. Yong Ae Yue, 63; Soon Chung Park, 74; Suncha Kim, 69; and Hyun Jung Grant, 51, were killed in March when a gunman went on a shooting rampage at three metro Atlanta spas.

Atlanta police have investigated 64 homicide cases in 2021, a 58% increase over this time last year. The surge follows a historically deadly 2020, when authorities investigated 157 homicide cases — the most in more than two decades.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has referred to the spike in violence as a “COVID crime wave,” but the city’s death toll continues to mount as more Georgians get vaccinated and life returns to normal. As of June, Atlanta’s murders are up and shootings have increased by 40%, according to the latest data. Meanwhile, overall arrests are down by about 43% as Atlanta’s police force remains more than 400 officers under its authorized level.

More than 200 officers quit the force in 2020, many after criminal charges were filed against the two involved in the deadly shooting of Rayshard Brooks and other officers who used their Tasers on two college students during last summer’s protests downtown. Another 75 Atlanta police officers have left since the start of the year, records show.

But department leaders say morale is stabilizing and that they plan to hire 250 new officers in the next fiscal year beginning July
More bodies, more gunshot wounds

Dr. Karen Sullivan, Fulton County’s Chief Medical Examiner, said her office conducts death examinations from cities across Fulton, but most of the homicide victims they encounter are killed in Atlanta.

“Anecdotally, it seems as though the complexity of the homicides is increasing,” Sullivan said recently. “Years ago … the vast majority of homicide cases due to gunshot wounds were one, maybe two — rarely three gunshot wounds. Now, it’s quite common for people to have been shot 10, 12 times.”

2021 homicides by the numbers
Three of the 64 Atlanta homicide cases stem from incidents that took place prior to this year, but each was officially ruled a homicide in 2021.

The average age of those killed this year was about 34, compared to about 33 in 2020.

Most were Black men. Seven Black women and teens, two Hispanic males and four Asian women were also among the dead.

Most were killed by rifles and handguns.

She said family members often have questions about how their loved ones die, including how long it took them to succumb to their injuries and whether they suffered.

“We feel our job is important because not only are we determining cause and manner of death, but we’re able to talk to the decedents’ families about what happened to them,” Sullivan said, “Being able to give people some bit of closure is important to us.”

While any homicide is tragic, Sullivan said it can be especially difficult when the victim is someone young.

“So many of our deaths are unnecessary,” she said. “They do have an impact on us, even more so when it’s a child who is an innocent bystander caught in crossfire or some other circumstance.”

I’m so happy to hEAR that you are headed to my favorite island, Castaway Cay! Some of our best core memories as a family have been made on Disney cruises, so get ready to have lots of family time and memorable adventures.

Snorkeling is one of my favorite pastimes while traveling, especially in the Bahamas. The Snorkeling Lagoon is an excellent setting to try this amazing activity. Your kiddos can absolutely snorkel in the shallow water, but they are not nearly as likely to see fish there as they would be out deeper in the lagoon. So what I’d suggest is having them wear the complimentary life vests and those will enable your kids to go out farther.

I hope this is comforting: the protected snorkeling lagoon is very calm due to the natural barrier surrounding it. Translation: smoother waters for snorkelers! For this reason, fins are not needed. Also, lifeguards are stationed around the lagoon in the event a Guest needs assistance while snorkeling. Swim online to reserve your snorkeling equipment in advance or you can always rent it once you arrive at Castaway Cay.

I spy with my little eye...a hidden Mickey! The underwater treasures of Mickey and Minnie are a welcome surprise for adults and kids alike. If I’m estimating correctly, the Mickey statue is approximately eight to ten feet below the surface, and Minnie’s is only about two to three feet below. Both are easily visible while snorkeling, so be sure to bring a GoPro to capture all the fun!

To change gears, renting bicycles gives you a chance to explore this island oasis, which I highly recommend! However, there are only single passenger bicycles available to rent. You'll just have to save the 4-person bike experience for the surrey bikes at Disney's BoardWalk at Walt Disney World!

Since you’ve expressed interest in both snorkeling and biking, I'd be remiss if I didn’t mention the Castaway Cay Getaway Package, which includes snorkel equipment rental for the day, float rental for the day, and bicycle rental for an hour. In legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Rodney Jones, a former producer and videographer for the mogul, claims he was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Diddy and subjected to unwanted advances by associates of Diddy at his direction.

It’s worth noting, LAPD investigated the shooting and reportedly found the victim had been shot outside the studio during a robbery, and merely ran into the studio while still bleeding.

As a result of her defiance, Parks was arrested and found guilty of disorderly conduct. NAACP joined her appeal, a case that languished in the Alabama court system. Segregation on public buses eventually ended in 1956 after a Supreme Court ruling declared it unconstitutional in Browder v. Gayle. Parks was not included as a plaintiff in the decision since her case was still pending in the state court.

JOINING THE FIGHT IN DETROIT

In addition to her arrest, Parks lost her job as a seamstress at a local department store. Her husband Raymond lost his job as a barber at a local air force base after his boss forbade him to talk about the legal case. Parks and her husband left Montgomery in 1957 to find work, first traveling to Virginia and later to Detroit, Michigan.

Parks supported the militant Black power movement, whose leaders disagreed with the methods of the nonviolent movement represented by Martin Luther King. Her break with other Montgomery leaders over the future of the civil rights struggle contributed to her departure from the Southern city.

Parks was struck by the similarity in treatment of African Americans in Detroit, finding that schools and housing were just as segregated as they were in the South. She joined the movement for fair housing and lent her support to local candidate John Conyers in his bid for Congress.

After he was elected in 1965, Conyers repaid the favor by employing Parks as his secretary in his Detroit office, a position she held until her retirement in 1988. In the role, Parks worked with constituents on issues such as job discrimination, education, and affordable housing.

Parks remained active in the civil rights movement in the 1960s and helped investigate the killing of three Black teenagers in a 1967 race riot in Detroit.

DEATH AND LEGACY

Over the course of her life, Parks received many honors, including NAACP's Springarn Medal in 1979, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1996, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1999. After Parks died in Detroit in 2005 at the age of 92, she became the first woman to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C.

California, Missouri, Ohio, and Oregon commemorate Rosa Parks Day every year, and highways in Missouri, Michigan, and Pennsylvania bear her name.

LONDON — Twenty-five minutes before John F. Kennedy was assassinated, a British newspaper received an anonymous tip about "some big news" in the United States, according to the trove of more than 2,800 documents released late Thursday by the National Archives.

The mystery call was made to a senior reporter at the Cambridge News, a paper that serves the East Anglia area of eastern England, on Nov. 22, 1963, at 6:05 p.m. local time. Kennedy was shot shortly afterward, as he rode in a presidential motorcade in Dallas, Texas, at 12:30 p.m. CST. Dallas is six hours behind Britain.

"The caller said only that the Cambridge News reporter should call the American Embassy in London for some big news and then hung up," the memo from the CIA's James Angleton to FBI director J. Edgar Hoover said.

The revelation, one of many that emerged from the planned release of the Kennedy assassination documents — so far, there's no smoking guns — adds to the raft of conspiracy theories surrounding his death. In fact, the memo was first released in July, but went unreported until the cache of files was released Thursday.

The cloudburst of speculation and conjecture as Americans turned to the internet for news about the shooting is the latest sign of how social media has emerged as a dominant source of information — and misinformation — for many, and a contributor to the distrust and turbulence now driving American politics.

Mentions of Trump on social media soared up to 17 times the average daily amount in the hours after the shooting, according to PeakMetrics, a cyber firm that tracks online narratives. Many of those mentions were expressions of sympathy for Trump or calls for unity. But many others made unfounded, fantastical claims.

“We saw things like ‘The Chinese were behind it,’ or ‘ Antifa was behind it,’ or ‘the Biden administration did it.’ We also saw a claim that the RNC was behind it,’” said Paul Bartel, senior intelligence analyst at PeakMetrics. “Everyone is just speculating. No one really knows what’s going on. They go online to try to figure it out.”

Claims of an inside job or false flag are unsubstantiated

Many of the more specious claims that surfaced immediately after the shooting sought to blame Trump or his Democratic opponent, President Joe Biden, for the attack.

Some voices on the left quickly proclaimed the shooting to be a false flag concocted by Trump, while some Trump supporters suggested the Secret Service intentionally failed to protect Trump on the White House’s orders.

The Secret Service on Sunday pushed back on claims circulating on social media that Trump’s campaign had asked for greater security before Saturday’s rally and was told no.

Dark Web Data Theft Leads To Arrest Of 40 Suspects In Massive Bank Fraud Operation

Authorities have apprehended 40 suspects involved in a large-scale bank fraud operation that relied on personal information stolen from the dark web. The scheme, which targeted unsuspecting victims in the Houston area and beyond, resulted in the theft of between $360,000 and $600,000.

The investigation, dubbed “Operation Cash Back,” revealed that the group behind the fraud was well-organized, with leaders including 23-year-old Gregory Edwards III, 25-year-old Doc Frank, 20-year-old Jayson Gipson, and 21-year-old Lajewel McGilbray. These individuals have been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and money laundering.

Mont Belvieu Police Chief Jimmy Ellison explained that the criminals accessed victims’ bank accounts using stolen data to make unauthorized wire transfers. The group then enlisted friends, family members, and even acquaintances from social media to launder the stolen money through legitimate accounts.

“Once they get the information, they start making wire transfers out of the victim’s bank accounts,” Ellison said. “But, in order for them to be successful, they have to transfer that money into a clean account, and that’s where they began recruiting other people.”

The criminal network extended beyond Texas, with some associates located as far away as Georgia and Illinois. Mont Belvieu police are continuing their investigation to identify additional participants in the scheme.

An online security expert emphasized the importance of protecting personal information by avoiding the reuse of passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and using biometric security options when available. Authorities urge the public to stay vigilant as they work to dismantle the operation and bring all involved to justice.
